Very nice hotel (built by a famous architect: Nieyemer). Nice swimming pool area (almost resort-like).
4.2
Everything about this hotel was great. The location. The amenities. The food. The staff. The hotel design and aesthetics.
4.2
We stayed one extra night after staying with our tour group. The location is about 15 min drive from the hustle and bustle of ipanema beaches. I prefer it. It was quieter, safer and had more of a resort feel. Not as many characters selling random things on the beach. Restaurants were good. Service was great. Nice pool and sauna. We went to the spa twice! Prices are good compared to US spa services. The ocean front rooms are spectacular. Mountain View is also nice.
4.2
Excellent for couples and families. Not so much for single people as I discovered when I arrived. Not in a touristy area. More in a residential area but on the beach. It's close to a small mall that that doesn't have much. However, the hotel rooms have outstanding views of the ocean and a resort vibe. The internet was surprisingly fast and reliable most of the time compared to other hotels in Brazil which are 90% of the time horrible. Next time I come there I will definitely bring someone with me since it appears to be mainly for couples and families.

This hotel went beyond our expectations. We stayed at an all inclusive resort in Peru before flying to Brazil and had pretty low expectations for what amenities to expect in a third world country. This hotel and their staff went above and beyond to make our stay phenomenal. My only complaint was the lack of towels, and how thin they were. They did give us more towels upon request, but no hand towels or washcloths were provided. That didn't really matter too much as our room had an awesome view, the bed was comfy with amazing lighting, and the food at the restaurants was excellent. The customer service was that of a 5 star hotel in the states, great job!

Fantastic!

I loved this hotel the staff was very kind and accommodating. There were some slight issues with internet connectivity in our room with the TV but they tried their best to fix it. The dining options were amazing especially for lunch and dinner and I felt very safe during my stay.
4.2
The place was very dirty and dangerous. The room was not working and not ready in time. They did not honor the contract. Huge family hotel destroying pool lobby and buffet. Avoid at all cost
4.2
We stayed in the hotel for more than a week and had to constantly be calling for room service.
4.2
Property is nice and so is the staff. Front desk speak english and or spanish but alot of the wait staff doesn’t so alot if pointing to things we wanted. Breakfast is good options but dinner is very limited so i wouldn’t pay for it. Room service food was good. And one block away is a mall with several restaurant and cafes in it. The massages was divine and affordable!
4.2
The hotel is great and I can't understand the bad reviews I've read. The elevators worked flawlessly, the staff spoke English and were very friendly and unlike Copacabana and Ipanema, the beach is also much cleaner and a lot quieter. Of course, if you want to be asked every 15 minutes, whether you want to buy a bracelet or something, there is nothing wrong with Copacabana. This is not the case at all on Sao Conrado Beach. All in all, the hotel, the place and the beach in my opinion was the best choice to be in "Zona Sul" in Rio de Janeiro when you want a hotel directly on the beach.

Stayed for 5 nights and had a great stay at hotel
National. Viktor at concierge was the best and helped us so much! Thanks for the wonderful time.

Great place

A very classy property that has been well maintained. Has a great location across the beach although a bit outside of downtown. It is one beach down from Ipanema. The food was mediocre at best but average for Brazil where they don't season or even use salt. The free breakfast is extensive but bland.

Not bad

Please read until the end.
-The staff at the front desk was very pleasant & spoke great English. housekeeping also did a great job daily. I got sick & the room service frequently brought up more tea upon request.
-The property is beautiful and provides amazing beach views as well as views of the biggest favela. They have a nice gym, & spa as well as a beautiful elevated “lawn”. The pool is also decent. Honorable mention, the restaurant on the roof is stunning, with great drinks & nice food. I recommend the salmon.
The bar outside was okay. My drinks were constantly made with extra lemon. They have live performances from a dj or pianist every now & then.
-Food: I included free breakfast in my booking and it was worth it. They have many options that change through the week and a live chef that makes the best omelettes daily. There was also a detox juice that tasted amazing lives up to its name.
Now.. my ⚠️ONLY ISSUE ⚠️ with this property is that on day 5 out of 7, the Water Shut Off. I could not bathe or brush my teeth with the sink or shower. I had to use the water bottles in the fridge and after explaining this to them they STILL charged us for the water. They also eventually stopped answering the phone once they realized the issue. The water came on for an hour and then went off again. If you walk 2 blocks down you’ll see all the locals outside until 4am with the best local dishes for $3-$5usd. The “FUN” aka LAPA is a 30min $15usd uber ride away! The GIG airport is 40min

Property is very clean and beautiful. Well worth the price. Only stayed here one night but would definitely stay again!

The food is good, the view and the hotel looks very good, the staff looks friendly, the only thing is that I'm curious why in a 5 Star Hotel they don't have people who can speak english properly to handle conversation or spanish, not everyone is from Brasil. Also, I'm kind of disappointed because in all inclusive, why Water or even coffee is not included? Why the need to pay for common drinks like those? They are cheap but not included, so you have to pay every drink for every meal you want to have, doesn't make sense, this makes the hotel to be a 4 start and also the Pool is kinda small. Other than these, it looks good to me. I would recommend to look for other 5 start places or be prepare to spend some money for every Drink.

Average. And this is not a 5 star hotel

Clean less of bathroom.
We were left without water for one day

The Property
4.2
Over rated, room wasn’t clean, we asked for the room to be cleaned every day, didn’t leave new towels when needed, got food poisoning from the restaurant at the hotel.
4.2
The architecture is amazing, and the quick access to a beautiful sandy beach is wonderful! The front desk staff was so helpful and friendly - and many of the staff spoke English, which was a huge bonus.
4.2
Very unsafe property! Stay at your own risk! Do not book here, they will literally act nice to then lure you into their amenities excursions for the wrong reasons. Very unsafe.
4.2
Everything was perfect! I realy apreciate the staff friendliness. The experience at hotel was great and very rekaxing. I strongly reccomend this hotel for a stay in Rio!
4.2
Hotel was safe n quiet
No need to bring cash
Everywhere in rio accepts credit card even the vendors n taxi
Everything in rio is pretty cheap
Don't need a rental car bcuz it's no parking at hotel and taxi is really cheap to get around $10-$20us$ can bring you pretty much everywhere
Free breakfast was completely trash I'm guessing that's why it's free
Dinner included was repetitive not good
Better to go out and eat food
But hotel was really clean n smell good all the time
4.2
Nice hotel with friendly staff, nice view beach/ Favela, supermarket on walk distance. Nice sky- lounge restaurant on the 30th floor. Missed Nespresso and water cooker machine in the room. No tissues in the bathrloom.
4.2
Great stay
4.2
The clock in the room was not on the correct time and could not be changed. I did ask for someone to come and change it but that did not happen. Also the air conditioning could not be set to a temperature that I wanted which made the room very cold.
Other than that I thought it suited my purposes perfectly
4.2
The room itself was nice and had great views with very close proximity to the beach, however, both check in and check out was incredibly long and inefficient. Customer service was not great and the food at the restaurants were horrendous. Breakfast buffets was fine but very limited options for vegetarian/ non dairy. Also had to contest charges to receive Expedia reward benefits for free beverages. I probably would not stay here again for the price paid.
4.2
Hotel was excellent spacious suite, large enough for four people
Breakfast was very repetitive with little or no variation during our 9 night stay
Pool area was very good and drinks prices were reasonable
4.2
This hotel in Brazil stands out as one of my favorites. The staff consistently exhibits exceptional attentiveness and kindness. The housekeeping team is unfailingly friendly and accommodating. Notably, the bed provides a super comfortable sleep, and the breakfast is also quite delightful. Highly recommended!
4.2
The only 5 * about this hotel is the price of food and drinks. The gym and pool are Ok. The sun loungers a hazard in the heat you get burnt. The one towel policy means the loungers are not fully covered hence the danger. I changed rooms as there was no hot water. The staff do their best but with no English it is not easy. Thais on night reception is of great help.
There is no free water on arrival or in your room no coffee making facilities in the room. There is soap but no shower gel. Overall I would go elsewhere.
4.2
Great hotel and excellent value for money for whom does not care being a bit far from main tourist spots. Standard of guests however is rather low.
4.2
Very clean

If you like good Architecture...then you picked the right place! This was designed by the same individual who designed most of Brasilia and the United Nations Headquarters in NYC! The food and service was excellent! The beach was right across the street...and great shopping a block away. I would rate it the best facility overall by far I have ever experienced!
4.2
Loved the view and the staff was nice

Caio was amazing.. he was always willing to assist... he became my go to person... there were also others I just happen to remember his name...
