What a lovely place! Looks like a fairytale. The staff were incredibly nice. We had a wonderful time and would definitely stay here again.
Thank you so much Yuka and Harry!

The accommodation is clean, well-located and the service was incredible. A special mention to Motoharu & Yuka for their hospitality and kindness. 5 stars!

This hotel exceeded our expectations by a huge margin, so we felt compelled to leave a review. First, the Danish furniture is much more gorgeous and high quality than the pictures let on. Second, the couple who run the property are some of the most kind-hearted, thoughtful, and generous people you will meet. They literally bend over backwards to help you and ensure your trip is smooth and comfortable. Third, all of the "little extras" (the pour-it-yourself wine bar, the locally sourced breakfasts, the free pick-up/drop-off service from the train station) really add up to something more than the sum of the parts. Everyone we met at this hotel felt the same. With a wink and a nod it was like joining a secret club. We all felt blessed to be there. A few of the people we met were repeat customers. You will be too!

The design of the House of Finn Juhl is exquisite. Everything has been thought through. From cups and saucers to the furniture and fittings in every room. Proper westerner-friendly beds, great shower, good linens. Breakfast was lovely (hotel is more B&B/Hotel mix), and the available teas and Illy coffee during the day is a good service. There is a help yourself bar downstairs for a glass of wine or sake and Jens, the Danish caretaker/cook/student, was always available for a chat or to provide some cheese/bites when he saw you were in the lobby. It really is a gorgeous place if you like mid-century modern design and the service is there to match. wholehearted recommendation from a critical traveler ...

Outstanding experience in all ways! The hotel is named for a Danish designer Finn Juhl and is filled with his beautiful and functional furniture -- it is almost like a showroom. The owners have an innkeeper-type person on premises for guest help and to make breakfast. Our innkeeper was an extremely friendly and helpful Danish man who cooked amazing breakfasts for us, gave us tons of advice on where to go and what to do, and was even able to use the hotel van to shuttle us places (this is an extra service, not included in the usual hotel services). The whole experience was like a bed and breakfast more than a hotel, very personal and inviting. The location of the house in Echoland is very good, a block from the main road of restaurants and activity. Although the room price is significant, the amenities and comfort of the room and hotel overall are very much worth it. Downstairs are seating areas and a self-service bar with Japanese wine and beer, and it was fantastic to unwind with a drink after skiing. Overall a great and memorable stay thanks to the hotel style and comfort, the seating areas to hang out with friends, and the amazing Danish innkeeper.
