The property is famous for its pool overlooking the sea and the best place to watch the sunset. We also had a private pool and area that we could enjoy out of the eyes of other tourist. Staff hotel were extremely accommodating and helpful. We would love to come back to this place

This place is amazing!! Best views in town! Staff was unbelievably friendly & helpful. Made you feel right at home. I can’t say enough good about this experience. There’s not one thing I’d change.

My luggage was broken by the staff and did help me at all when I mentioned that to them.

The hotel only gets 4 stars due to the hill to get to the property. It is why the hotel is quiet and has a great view of the sunset, but the hill is also very steep and difficult to navigate in spots.

Hotel has the best sunset views in Santorini. Our room had its own plunge pool, you can watch the sunset from our pool. The hotel only has a breakfast option but no restaurant Inside the hotel. There’s plenty of dining options close by though. Be prepared to walk though as obviously no cars can come to this area. They sent a staff member to help us bring our luggage from main road, it’s about a 15 minute walk. Highly recommend the hotel amazing views and quieter than other parts of Santorini.

This is a beautiful hotel for sunset views and romantic evenings spent at the pool. Staff was very helpful, organized, and polite. I recommend getting the room service breakfasts, everything was delicious. The path of stairs that leads you to the hotel from where your driver will be able to drop you is long and can be tricky to walk up and down due to the slippery stones so bear that in mind when booking. I was able to do them while five months pregnant but probably wouldn’t be able to in the third trimester.

This property is in a good location, right in the middle of Oia. Be prepared to walk the steps though because it truly is in the middle and there is no direct access to it. It looks over the sunset and down at Amoudi Bay which is nice.
I will say, the staff is not very friendly or welcoming. The rooms are pretty average, cracks in the floors, stained bathrooms, etc. The private hot tub on our balcony was very cold and the view was very obstructed. We asked about heating up the hot tub and they pretty much said that there was nothing they could do about it.
Overall I was very underwhelmed and would not stay here again.

Very unique hotel and experience but i don't think I will ever stay there again. I booked the hotel as i didn't want to fight with other vacationers for a view of the sunset. Have mixed feelings here. While it has one of the best sunset views there isn't much the hotel has to offer other than a picturesque pool.
Couple things you should know before booking this property:
1) the exact location of the hotel as you can't it on google map. I did a lot of research on the hotel before i went there so found it easily,
2) if you are goiing back to your hotel few times a day then beware of the stairs as the hotel is maybe 1/3 its way towards the pier. Going down is hard enough, going back up is like a full workout.
3) While the room itself is very unique it is quite small. There is not much sitting area in the room too. The bedroom is on the 2nd level and the spiral staircase is the tiniest i have ever seen. I can't imagine how a tall or big guy can climb up the spiral stairs.
4) hotel does not have any other facility
I am not saying that this is a bad hotel, had a great time there. Just that I find it hard to justify staying there again and pay a premium when there isn't much they offer.

The property is clean and nice for adults only with a great sea caldera view except the path way to the hotel entrance is the main stops for donkey rides.

Almost perfect except that there is no restaurant at the hotel.
Everything else is immaculate and clean.
Location is very close to restaurants and is the nice spot to watch the sunset.
Pool view is amazing!!

Hôtel was good but I hurt myself very badly on very slippery and abrupt stair to access main pool, I banged my arm, shoulder, hip and head and fell all stairs
The 4 people in the pool said they experienced the same.
The receptionist didn’t seem to care at all and the only thing she had to say was ‘you are the first to complain’!
I asked her to report to the hotel owner or manager and never heard back !!
Very dangerous stiff stairs and poor management !!

Amazing room with an unobstructed view of the sea and breathtaking view of the sunset!! Others used to come and stand outside the hotel to see the sunset while we used to just be in our private pool and take in the view! Couldn’t have asked for a better location during our stay! The staff were very friendly and helpful, two men in particular helped take our luggage up and down the steep path during check in and check out. The only small facility I wish they had was a poolside bar where we could’ve lazed in the pool while drinking some delicious cocktails, and a food menu where we could’ve had some yummy finger food. But even without this I rate this place 5/5 and will definitely stay here again!

Absolutely incredible property and the woman who checked us in was so welcoming and gracious, every time we saw her during our stay she was just so great. Can’t say enough good things about this hotel and property!

The best service

We had a problem with our shower’s drain from the very first day of our stay and the property failed to take our complaints seriously. The receptionist did make an effort and put acid in the drain twice during our stay but that didn’t help. I complained every single day of our stay and as far as I know no handyman was called to look into it. The situation got so bad the last day that the water leaked from the shower into our room. Instead of finding a way to compensate for the bad experience, I was told this was the first time there was a complaint about the drain in this room - I honestly don’t know the purpose of saying that to me when there was no real action being taken by the management to fix the issue. The main pool was almost always dirty with bugs floating around. Our private infinity pool however was cleaner compared to it, still it had dust settled at the bottom. I was really looking forward to staying at this property, but overall my experience was really disappointing given the amount of money I had spent. Should have stayed at some other hotel.

Fabulous holiday
Hotel lovely as were staff. Amazing views. Would stay again
Lots of stairs to shops and restaurants so I wouldn’t recommend if you have mobility issues.

This stay was well worth the money! Firstly, the room & view was absolutely breathtaking. The cave style room but with a modern twist was so comfortable. There was a waterfall shower, an area to hang clothes, a small refrigerator, a balcony with a stunning sunset view with a table and chairs and cushion bench, and a small jacuzzi outside. We loved the breakfast each morning before going to explore for the day. What truly made this stay best for us was the fact that we could watch sunset from our balcony or by the pool each day while drinking wine and relaxing rather than on the crowded streets of Oia or at an expensive restaurant. Also, the staff was so kind bringing our bags up the stairs at the end of our stay and arranging a driver back to the airport. We could not have been happier about booking this stay at Old Castle Oia.

This was an excellent location for sunset views in Oia. Would recommend. We were upgraded for free upon our arrival. Breakfast each morning is awesome. Bianca was lovely and accommodating, and helped us arrange dinners and a scooter rental! Very personable. Would strongly recommend.

The best thing of this property is that you're right in front of the best sunset you'll ever see. Then the staff is super friendly and accommodating. I will book here again.. but make sure you bring clothes you can wear with comfortable shoes because there are a lot of stair to go up and down from the hotel's location.

Located at the lower part of Oia be prepared for a walk up. Great hotel but be prepared to pay the price for the view. Room was clean and staff very helpful. Limited privacy from rooms.

This was my second time staying at Old Castle Oia and I literally came to Santorini the second time for the purpose of staying at this hotel. It is truly the best hotel I have every stayed in. Bianca, who manages the hotel and guests, is a queen and the hospitality she provides is next level. The entire staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel is conveniently located in Oia and very walkable to everything you want to see. But obviously the most important part is the view from the pool! There is no better view of Oia or the sunset than the view from the pool. While all the plebs are waiting outside the castle for hours in the heat to secure their spots for sunset, at Old Castle Oia, you can watch it from the luxury of the hotel pool. It’s the most luxurious stay you will have in Oia.

Be prepared for the best sunset of your life. Very good hotel, with great pool and helpful receptionists.
Just a few details (which in our case did not harm our positive experience so much): 1 - we came from the port with the transfer booked by the hotel, but there was some confusion on our arrival and we ended up being guided by an employee of another hotel to the door of another establishment that was not the one we had booked, but soon the employees of both the hotels talked to each other and then the people from Oia Castle came to us. 2 - at the time of check-out, we were asked about the consumption of the minibar and we confirmed that nothing had been consumed. So the receptionist talked to the housekeeper and asked us about the consumption of 3 beers, 2 of which were from a brand that had never been in our fridge since check-in and the other beer had actually been purchased from outside. While there was this little embarrassment, the hotel obviously didn't charge us for this wrong billing. 3 - the access street to the hotel is a route for donkey rides that are taking tourists from bottom to top throughout the day. As a result, the street (which is only for pedestrians like almost every village in Oia) ends up being filled with donkey feces, being almost impossible not to step on any of them (particularly at night) on your way to the hotel entrance. This is obviously not the hotel's fault, but it's a fact worth mentioning.

The hotel is in a very good condition as it’s only a few years old. Amazing sunset view from the hotel. The staff was great and helped us with the tour to explore the island and dinner reservations. The breakfast was delicious on our private terrace.
