The property is very nice, but the rooms are not all in the same building. It was a little convoluted to travel between rooms. The rooms are spacious There are no elevators. you pre order breakfast the night before and it is delivered to your room. Rooms were equipped with kitchenette with utensils. Very convenient. You felt like you were staying in a secret hideaway. Staff were wonderful and very helpful in every way. Made to feel welcomed and comfortable.

Incredibly helpful staff in a wonderful establishment

our room was beautiful, with a fantastic view!
1. The bedroom area should have a rug... for comfort.
2. there was a strange sulfur smell at the bathroom sink.
3. very generous bottle of wine upon arrival.
4. towels were replaced after use... not ecological.
5. Great location
6. confirmation emails should warn about the difficulty of finding the hotel... ie- the best place for a taxi/uber to drop us off.

Super cute little hotel, feels like living in a villa. We had a balcony overlooking the city. Yummy breakfast with limited Gluten free options. Staff is super friendly.

We loved our stay here. So quiet and secluded yet in the middle of Lisbon. The amenities were outstanding and staff were extremely helpful.

We had the Panoramic Terrace room and really enjoyed our stay. Our room was very spacious and comfortable and we had a great view from the terrace, so nice to be able to sit out, enjoy a glass of wine and look out at the city. The staff was very helpful, lovely breakfast and a good location for walking to local restaurants. Didn't have a chance to use it but they have a nice pool and really appreciate all the water bottles!

Amazing hotel with amazing staff. We stayed here on our mini moon and will be back next year for sure!

Beautiful property on a great street (not so great if you're driving, but do-able). Very good breakfast, excellent staff

Wonderful! Very comfortable and accommodating.

What a gorgeous property! Very spacious rooms with great views of Lisbon. It's also across the street from great restaurants and still quiet enough. Pool is wonderful (would be nice if there were more lounge chairs) and breakfast is excellent with fresh baked breads, cheeses, fruits, and ready made eggs. I would totally stay here again!

A stunning oasis in a busy part of town with a (small) pool and beautiful views over the city (at least out of our room). The staff was super friendly and helpful.

Was a little hard to find but once we did, it was an oasis in the middle of a charming, buzzing city.

I loved it here. Breakfast is very good and having it served to your room is a treat. I had the duplux room and it had everything I could possibly need. The view from the private terrace was amazing. The spa was a lovely spot to relax. The bed was extremely comfy. It was 5 mins away from the main attractions. I actually struggle to fault the place.

The welcome and the service during the stay was warm and supportive. The top room with terrace was very spacious, and the night view on the city and the Castle was exceptional. The hotel pays attention to details and there is great taste in the setups, the art displayed, the music played during breakfast, the way the breakfast is presented. The hotel is also in a great location.

A wonderful quaint spot with all the immenities! Loved our large cottage room with private outside area and jacuzzi. Many fun good restaurants right on the same street. Hilly, but able to walk to many areas. Great service and beautiful breakfast room and breakfast.

This place was excellent! Great location, great amenities, great staff. I wish we could have stayed longer and we hope to come back soon.

The location, size, staff and amenities were all excellent. Only negative was the shower, which was very impractical and the toilet area which was quite small and awkward. If you get up a night and forget about the step, it could be a hazard.
Everything else was perfect. Would stay again, maybe try a different room with a better bathroom.

Beautiful place in the heart of old town. We were extremely delighted in the quaint, personal feel of the hotel. Views are amazing! Just a note, it might be difficult to get to as the taxi can’t take you to the front and one has to navigate an incline. Tip, you DO NOT need to take the stairs up to the hotel, just navigate up the road to the left. Highly recommend. Staff was always pleasant and helpful. We would definitely stay again

Great boutique hotel in the heart of Lisbon. Friendly staff. Best hotel breakfast ever. Large comfy room. The location is amazing.

Great view from our premium room. Good cold breakfast.
Nice staff. Fair location, issue I had was when you want to go to the main square and the river you have to traverse a steep hill. It gets old. Some rooms need serious updating. Rooms smell way over perfumed.

Casa Balthazar is a small, upscale, boutique hotel featuring just a few rooms. Our suite had a separate sitting area, a bedroom with a comfortable king-size bed, and a very spacious bathroom (especially by European standards) with a bathtub and a separate shower.
The location is fantastic - walking distance to everything (we logged about 20K steps each day) and in the heart of the historic district up on the hill, yet very quiet and away from the traffic and the noise of the big squares. There are numerous restaurants and Fado show places just steps away.
Breakfast featured amazing pastries (croissants to rival those from Paris, yummy scones) and fresh passion fruits, berries, kiwi, mango, etc.
Two small things to note - our suite was on the "third floor" with no elevators, which was fine for us, but perhaps not for people with limited mobility. If you have a car, you need to reserve a spot in advance. We used private guides, and they instructed us to meet them at the bottom of the street (about 50 meters away) as they cannot come through this street.
The staff were very helpful and pleasant.
I would highly recommend this place for couples looking for a quiet oasis in Lisbon.

Excellent location - central but felt nice and quiet tucked away. Spa was brilliant - we got to use the jacuzzi, sauna and steam room all to ourselves. Lovely big bedroom and good continental breakfast. Would recommend!

This property was delightful. We stayed in the cottage, that was big, clean, and had a private patio with a hot tub. The daily breakfasts (included) were fantastic with fresh pastries, fruit, cheese, meats, and honey. Every detail was high end throughout the property, including the pool and spa areas. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

Really a fantastic place to stay in Lisbon--in a very lively neighborhood but secluded and quiet when you are inside. Lovely facility, kind and helpful staff.

Amazing hotel with excellent location and amenities. Some rooms with breathtaking balcony views and private hot tubs. Delicious pastries at breakfast. Will definitely book again for all future trips to Lisbon

Truly lovely property and an energetic, accommodating young staff! We slept well, ate well, and particularly enjoyed the spa area with its hot tub and sauna.
8.0
Overall a pleasant experience. Good breakfast, friendly staff and well equipped room. The location is a bit inconvenient and Uber car can’t stop at the door. You have to walk 2-3 minutes downhill to the pick up spot to wait for Uber car, which is very inconvenient with luggage or raining.

Casa Balthazar is a truly unique property, and was the best place that we stayed in a two-week trip to Portugal. We had a large suite, which was both comfortable and very quiet; bed was excellent. What truly separated the place, however, were (a) the staff and (b) the continental breakfast, which was truly outstanding. The hotel is very well located (although difficult to find initially) and is a short walk from numerous restaurants and areas of interest. Very highly recommended.
