I was given a ground floor room where I was heavily bothered by the noise from the upper level during my night sleeping. There was also weird "stinky" smell around the corridor and my room. Without negative experience above, I might have given a better score because of the nice staff, stylish facility, great breakfast, easy parking, etc.

This is a relatively new hotel but is already showing its age. Several of the cabinets were "chipped" and needed painting/sanding. The beds were nice and appropriate. The rooms was reasonably clean.

We booked this hotel because the facilities looked really nice, and they were! We loved the room layout and the finishing seems new. However, we were shocked at the cost of the pet fee. We travel with our dog often and have never paid $150 pet fee before. This was more than the nightly rate of the room. Having a fee that is more expensive than your nightly rate is not pet friendly that’s just taking advantage of pet owners.

When I first drove up to the hotel there was 4 shopping carts full of stuff and it appear a person was camping with the carts. The first day was good, then the building smelled of smoke the second day and the fire alarms started to go off and no fire department or anyone showed up. Staff just kept saying it was a test. I ended up smelling like smoke and so did my belongings. The beds were very comfortable and the property was very clean. Staff were great

First of all I got there at 2:45 pm check in was at 3:00 pm , Monique front desk manager had a little chip on her shoulder and said my room won’t be ready till 3:30 pm I waited till 3:40 pm went upstairs to the 4th floor room 412 and the lady’s where still cleaning the room and I was told that Monique did not tell them to get the room ready till like 10 minutes ago so me and my family had to wait another 15 minutes so by the time I got my room it was 4:00 pm. Next day I go down stairs for the complementary breakfast and the biggest roach was crawling around the the floor . I have pictures of everything and time stamped . Plaid is NO GOOD !!!!

The only problem with this property was that the elevator only worked part-time from the ground floor. So, if you were in an upper level floor you could get down to the 1st floor no problem.

The hotel is very nice, clean, and attractive.. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The only criticisms are that there was no safe for valuables in the room, and they don’t leave extra rolls of toilet paper, only the roll that was on the dispenser next to the toilet. We asked for an extra roll on the second day of our stay and they were very accommodating.

I enjoy staying at the Residence In. This is my favorite hotel to stay when I visit Bakersfield. The hotel is very comfortable and the staff is very professional. However, there is a suspicious pending charge of $300 on my visa and this issue still has not been resolved by the manager. The receptionists have been very kind to call me back and let me know that they have left a note for their manager and they have apologized for the inconvenience. However, the manager told the staff to tell me that this charge has not been authorized and never bothered to call me back or even explain why this charge happened. My stay did not cost me $300 so I wanted to know where that crazy amount came from. Hopefully I get a call back soon and I’m still waiting for a call back from the manager.

We stayed on Feb. 13th-14th in a 1 bedroom suite in Room 101. It appeared to be clean but in the middle of the night we found bed bugs. When we reported it to the staff, the extremely downplayed the situation and offered no kind of resolution to the problem. The customer service here is horrible! From the moment we checked in, the front desk rep was extremely rude, and when we talked to the manager I could tell with her attitude that’s where the employees get it from. Seems like it’s acceptable behavior to be rude at this hotel. Never again. Save your money and book elsewhere.

The location is convenient and there is parking included and plentiful on the property. The room was spacious and clean but with some minor flaws. Free Wi-Fi was of decent speed, sufficient for streaming and video chat. Breakfast was ok with a decent selection, but the orange juice tasted like concentrate and was only palpable when diluted. Staff was overall friendly but a little dismissive: no acknowledgement or greeting in the morning during a multi-day stay and issues raised were not resolved for days. Felt like the bare minimum of maintenance was done. After a rainstorm there was debris around the pool area and even a chair inside the pool which was left unattended for several days. Three parking spots in front of the property were permanently blocked off with cones for "maintenance crews" when they could have been left to patrons instead.
