We stay here annually as we visit relatives in the area. The hotel is always clean and the front staff welcoming.
Our only complaint is that the included breakfast quality has declined every year. This year I couldn’t even find someone to ask for a glass of water since none was available in the dining room. Ended up going into the lobby to get one.
Will still stay here when we visit though.

I was immediately taken by how clean everything is AND how friendly the employees are! They say hi and give eye contact! Those things matter.

We loved staying at The Independence. The sheets and towels were soft, great shower, very clean and nice breakfast. We were really looking forward to using the hot tub, but when we arrived, they informed us it was broken. We played at the park and strolled around town instead. There is a cute ice cream parlor about one block away and we stopped at the wishing fountain and tossed in some pennies. All around a great stay.

This is a very nice place to stay. Will stay there again. But we were there 5 nights and they said our room would be cleaned on the third day but it never was. And the hot tub and roof top fireplace was not working. It is a newer place and along the river and the breakfast and flavored water was great. The free use of bicycles was great too. The park next to it was convenient. Walking distance to stores and restaurants.

This is a small thing but we had the best continental breakfast ever, something nice as we headed out on a hike. Everyone at the hotel was great and we would stay again if we are back in the area.

I love this gem of a Hotel just far enough out of Salem Oregon for a peaceful,Relaxing atmosphere..The Hotel is very clean and welcoming..Plenty of parking and the river is behind the hotel..A park is adjacent to the hotel perfect for early morning body weight training with pull-up bars..The town has plenty of dining options you can walk to just up the block..Very friendly atmosphere in town..Glad I found this little oasis

Loved the rooms and location! There were just a nunch of small things that they did really that upgraded our experience. Loved the outdoor dining for their breakfast and their evening restaurant. The river flowing just behind the hotel was gorgeous.

Next time we will request a better room...there are beautiful rooms,but we thought we were just getting a walk in shower,not an ADA room, which really did not suit our needs. Also looking forward to a beautiful evening on the rooftop bar,but no amenties there..had to carry your own food and beverage if you went up there.

Love this hotel. Have stayed here many times over the past 3 years. Hotel location is gorgeous! Very clean comfy rooms.
Restaurant has changed and has very few food choices at this time but breakfast remains delicious.
One point of irritation, we needed to wash some clothes - nice clean machines, but the hotel had NO quarters. It’s a very small town so options are limited.
Figured it out but…inconvenient

We only stayed one night and didn't spend much time in the hotel, but I would use this Hotel again. It was clean and close to everything we needed.

Hotel is nice and clean but so many people in the halls were so loud super late at night. Then first thing this morning young kids were running up and down the halls. Not the hotels fault but also feel they could have policed it better.

This hotel is fantastic! It’s got a great feel and it’s new and clean. Staff is wonderful and very accommodating. Being right on the river, it has an amazing view and the roof top bar area is a great bonus. Friday night summer concert was a blast! The town is quaint and the people are very nice.

As triathletes with bikes I appreciated the bike workroom, as well as the space under the beds to store the bike bags. The view along the river was nice. Shower could have been bigger. There was nowhere to hang bath towels. This would be a nice addition so we wouldn't have to replace them daily.

The location of this hotel is excellent, right in the downtown and convenient to restaurants and activities. Very nice accommodations, large rooms and bathrooms. Staff is incredibly kind. Looking forward to staying here again.

We were looking for a nice place to stay close to WOU for my daughter's orientation. So happy we found this gem! The food and drinks in the restaurant were reasonably priced and delicious. The staff were so sweet and helpful. The river and the park within walking distance was an added bonus. We didn't get time to check out the shops in town but we will back to visit our daughter during the school year. You are our #1choice for future visits.

During our stay at the Independence, there was a catastrophic incident u related to the hotel but very local. We watched the staff operate with such kindness and compassion towards the family and work with officials to help keep guests safe and also a respectful distance from the scene. A master class in both service and community involvement.

Safe area and many activities to explore. Staff was friendly and helpful. House keeping missed some animal poop in our room which was a bit frustrating. Previous guests should clean up after their pets. Front desk took care of the issue swiftly.

I was attending my 1st born granddaughter’s wedding at Eola’s vineyard. This hotel was recommended by my daughter, mother of the bride and I was not disappointed. For a small, quaint older town it is amazing! Very well maintained and beautifully decorated, very comfortable with a park located righ outside the doors, a quick walk to the Main Street of town or enjoy a quiet walk along the Willamette River. The breakfast on the weekends are amazing and not just continental! Pets friendly, as well! This hotel and town is a must see and stay! I’m glad I did!

Enjoyed our stay. Most of their Breakfast items were either out or running low. But staff mainted calm despite multiple other guests expressing their concern. No real complaints
