Hotel is lovely but old and worn. It is clean and very close to town. Great for walking. Room and bathroom were small. Pool was inviting but freezing. It’s winter in Maine but they should have turned the heater on. The tavern which used to be great is closed and the restaurant was not good. Very expensive. Fish was over cooked and drinks were only half filled and not great. The tea time was fun and good little snacks. Hotel is under new management and I can tell it’s not a quaint or the quality as the last time I was here a few years ago.

Pristine condition, well appointed rooms and common space. Enjoyed the art work and decorations for the holiday. There must be a full time interior designer on staff

The property is very nice and close to restaurants and shops. They do have a restaurant on the property. It was very clean and comfortable.

Really lovely Inn! Staff in the bar/restaurant weee fun and very accommodating. We brought our pooch and there was a dog dish, some nice wet food, and a dog bed in our room - such nice touches! We’d stay here again in a heartbeat!

All was great, except the breakfast dinner room seating. This happens all the time and today it pussed me off after spending $400 for 1 night.
The waitress seats 2,women at the crappiest table in the corner because they know (think) they won’t complain. Mikey save the nice tables for anyone with a man.
Come on women!

The room was quite small, and we did not like how the curtains did not go all the way accross the window. That part was pretty uncomfortable. However, the location and front desk/ restaurant staff were nice.

It was such a wonderful place to be. Everything felt nice and peaceful. The staff were very kind and the rooms felt cozy and super clean. I enjoyed being there and I would love to visit again.

Thank you. Had a wonderful stay. Vacuum between the couch and pay the employees more :)

Got phone call route to Inn informing us that the on site restaurant would be closed due to renovation. We booked this Inn for the convenience of restaurant on site. We were disappointed that we weren’t given more notice.

Very well kept Inn. They seem to do a bustling wedding business. It's right on the main drag through Freeport, which has a ton of shopping options. We didn't go for that, but we ended up doing some anyway. Good base camp from which to check Maine's Mid-Coast region.

The hotel is incredible, the room is comfortable and has a good design, the only thing that doesn't match its stars, the continental breakfast is poor, they take a while to sit you down, everything is out of order and if something runs out they don't refill it, I think at that point they could improve it
Its location is very good, close to restaurants and shops
It has a very nice indoor pool that my children enjoyed very much.

Nice staff, fun people staying at the Inn. Nice to have tea in the afternoon!
Our room would not have fit tall people due to the roof angle. I am short and hit my head a couple of times. Our bed mattress was thin and I could hear the springs every time I rolled over.
The bathroom was lovely with the tub for soaking and grab bars to get out with ease.
Breakfast was fresh, homemade and wait staff attentive. We would go back again!

Nice hotel. I wish things in Freeport stayed open past 9pm.

Excellent personal, totally loved the rooms and even though we didn’t take time and experience every single thing that the Inn offered we could of enjoyed so much more right there than we did it was outstanding to say the least.

A beautiful classic old property that is nicely preserved with a sense of history but all the modern comforts. Excellent farm to table restaurant onsite.

Located downtown in the heart of the tourist town. Walking distance from all attractions. When you check in they have a tea and coffee hour as got wait for your room to be ready. Friendly staff.

We had an amazing time at this cute old-fashioned hotel as a family
- This place has the old-fashioned charm, but is comfortable and well equipped with everything you need. It may not be the most up to date modern trendy hotel, but it's perfect for a small Christmasy town like Freeport.
- Service is great and friendly across the facility. Pool is very nice and comfortable. Gym is a bit small, but I wasn't there for that. Basic breakfast is free, but you can pay to have more options.
- If I have to give one feedback, it would be to update the bathroom with a bigger vanity with more counter space, stronger water pressure for toilet. Also, the AC is a bit hard to pin point the temperature.
None of these was really a big deal for us. We LOVED our stay as a family of 4 (70yro grandparents, 27yro mom/me, 18m old) and would come back. We would recommend this place especially for older visitors who would like to experience the good old days American coastal life!
Freeport is lovely, great dinning, shopping, and little boutique, all very walkable. Totally a hidden gem being overshadowed by Portland.

Was easy to check in and out. Staff was extremely friendly and courteous. Breakfast options could’ve been a little bit better. All in all great stay highly recommend this hotel.

Going to the Harraseeket Inn is like time traveling, but with the option of taking a smart phone and having the electricity to charge it. It's like that movie, "Somewhere in Time," like you've walked through a time portal by the power of hypnotic suggestion and an Expedia booking. But it is very much, at the same time, part of the present. They have a pool, and the restaurant is quintessentially the definition of a timeless Maine eatery. The afternoon tea is pleasant and steeped with charm. The people there couldn't be more gracious and accommodating. If you are looking for a place that adds to the memory and story of your Freeport stay, then stay at the Harraseeket Inn.

Beautiful property and nice staff. Would have been nice if main dining room was open. Look forward to staying again in the future

Don’t be fooled by the pictures. This is not a modern upgraded place to stay. After the maze of finding our room we found a small tv that didn’t work (needed someone to come and fix) and a 1980s bathroom. 3 people and 2 towels.
I cannot fault the people who brought the towels and fixed the tv. Really polite and helpful.
Continental breakfast is in a dark room where the waitresses complain loudly about not being tipped.
If it isn't a last minute need, find another place.
Overpriced and under delivering!

Dinner was not very good. The chicken wings were way over done. However, the homemade granola at breakfast was phenomenal

Breakfast was great with great service

Can't believe the dining room is under construction in the middle of their high season. Zero mention of this when we booked. My family and I have been visiting Freeport for over a decade but this time the entire town felt shop worn and sad and surprisingly deserted. Think that was our last visit there.

When I’m in Freeport The Harraseeket is the place I stay. The staff is friendly and efficient, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the location is close enough to walk to everything you want but far enough away that it’s quiet. Through the years I’ve found this Inn to be very consistent with its quality of service and I know I will always have an excellent visit.

Staff was amazing! Room was beautiful but the food wasn’t great, we had an app at dinner time and then breakfast and the breakfast could of been much better
8.0 / 10.0
We stayed at the Harraseeket a few years ago and it was much nicer. While the staff who are there are very helpful, there are no longer bellmen. You have to handle your own luggage- quite a pain. No room service for food, i.e., I wanted coffee and they sent a coffee machine. Apparently the ownership has changed, so don’t expect the elegant comfortable stay you may have had in the past.

Within walking distance to restaurants and LL Bean .

The service in the restaurant was exceptional. The hotel was probably remarkable in its heyday but it is run down. For the money, this did not seem special.

The hotel was great, I was happy with location, room, and parking. Only complaint was our day of checkout (we stayed one night and checked out on Sunday). The coffee in the lobby was empty and the front desk person wasn't exactly nice about asking it to get refilled. We then realized there was a small breakfast in the Tavern. We sat down to have coffee and were told we could go to the buffet. This was very small and basically a continental breakfast with some scarmbled eggs and bacon. Our food was not good (one of use couldn't even eat it), nor was our coffee. Then we got the bill and were shocked that the price was $25 per person. We live in Maine and understand tourist areas, but that was expensive for the food we had access to and I think folks should be aware of that. We could have walked to a coffee shop had we known.

We chose this Inn because we had some beautiful experiences in the past(20 -15 years ago). This Inn was known for the high quality services and high quality food, especially Sunday brunch!
This time around, we were met with disappointing surprises.
From the reception at our first arrival to our departure, no one was "present" at the front desk. The bed was very clean(thank goodness). Carpet looked like it was 30 years old. The light/vent combination for the bathroom was very noisy. The heating/ AC system was also very loud which kept waking us. The bath tub had a dark stain and a beat up end table was placed next to the tub.
We became aware that the change of management took place the day before we arrived. The employees appeared quite confused about their breakfast situation. Some guests received breakfast vouchers and we didn't which we found out when we showed up at the hotel restaurant. We were informed that we would have to pay $21 per person for our breakfast. At that point we walked out and went down the street for breakfast. It wasn't about the money but a feeling that it wasn't fair the way we were treated.

Dated hotel, carpet stained, closet door broken and shower curtain ripped. Staff was very accommodating. We were forced to leave early due to staff advising they were evacuating due to chemical spill

We have stayed there before and were happy with the Inn.
