Beautiful historical hotel. Super friendly staff and comfortable room. Even with operating 1927 elevator!

Two girlfriends and I were attending an event at the PPL center. The hotel was perfect and very pleasant. Breakfast the next day was delicious! If I am in the area again I would definitely stay there again.

The bed was terrible. Lumpy and sunk us into the middle of the bed.

I recently stayed at the Americus Hotel and had a wonderful experience. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, the room was clean and comfortable, and the location was perfect for exploring the city. Highly recommend for a pleasant and hassle-free stay!

I stayed in Allentown for 2 nights. Every staff member I came into contact with, were extremely polite and knowledgeable about the city. I travelled to Allentown on business. The Property Manager was extremely helpful and engaging. My only disappointment was when I asked for a 1pm check out and I was informed of a $25 dollar charge. Typically in Hotels that I stay in this is usually never an issue providing availability, and if it allowed have never been charged for the additional 1hr.
Nevertheless, I will stay at the Americus Hotel again when in the area.

This is our second time staying We visit our family at least once a month and the Americus is our go to hotel. Staff has been very nice and helpful, no complaints whatsoever. We will be returning,

Stay was very comfortable, I liked the later checkout vs rushing out at 10am esp since we were a wedding party. Bar stayed open to accommodate from the wedding.
Room was clean, asked for clean sheets and comforters and received both and was actually blown away. Only downfall I can say is I was the only one who chose a third party booking and my card was changed a bunch of charges that I had no clue what were for once I got to the hotel and through the night. After contacting the hotel Monday and being hung up on I decided to see if they were just pending but speaking with accounting somehow these were charges made in error. But other than that beautiful hotel and clean.

This is located in the heart of the city - so some urban noise. This has a upscale luxury feel

Everything was delightful from check in to check out. The hotel manager whose name escapes me went above and beyond to make everyone feel welcome. The room was fantastic and the bed and pillows, sooo comfortable. Would definitely stay again.

They charged me $150 and did not give me a reason why and will not pick up the phone. I just want a reason. I didn’t smoke and only used the hand soap provided.

Amazing service from the moment that we arrived. My check in experience is truly memorable. The young man at the desk was so professional and gave me a brief history of the hotel as I shared how beautiful the Hotel was. He shared from the renovations to the love from the owners. Overall he truly made us feel special and welcomed. The room was great. Clean and meticulously organized. Might be time for a new mattress in the room but it was comfy. Great experience and will stay again.

Room was accidentally booked from my hotel.com app. I called the hotel the same day an hour after it happened and they said my card would still be charged

Staff was fabulous and made our stay that much easier, on the ball with recommendations and assistance.

We had tickets for a concert at the PPL Center and liked the short walk. Valet parking at the hotel was a big plus. We also were very appreciative of the police presence on the street.

The hotel was in a great area and convenient to the PPL center. The staff was very friendly and suite room was perfect for 4 people.

We stayed here for a concert at PPL Arena. The manager spent time with us explaining about all the new renovations. Every staff member was gracious, pleasant and hard working. The bed was very comfortable and our room was quiet. Expedia made a mistake and gave us a king bed instead of 2 queens. The manager helped to rectify the situation by going above and beyond to make our stay comfortable.

We where supposed to have a room on a higher floor but we ended up on the 3rd floor but that was ok because they didn't have anything available so we made do. The food was great and they were very helpful when things didn't go right. But other than that every thing was great Very friendly staff and the owner was very nice

Great hotel for the cost. Our shower was missing a shower curtain, little confused about that. Overall, I would highly recommend and would stay here again.

This was the worst hotel Ive ever been in. Do not stay here!! The only thing that was good was the nice hot shower and the coffee downstairs. The lobby was very nice, its a historic bldg. The reception desk girls were horrible. They acted like they hated their jobs, bad attitude and not friendly at all. I asked them 3 separate times to lower the air conditioner in my room, they said ok and then did nothing. They told my friend who needed a desk for work that there were no desks in any of the rooms, meanwhile 5 other people all had desks in their rooms. I did not request early check in, when i arrived, my room was ready but they charged me $50 for "early"check-in. I complained but they charged anyway. My friend also complained and they lowered her fee. I will be disputing the charge from my credit card co. I had to put a q-tip in the bathroom sink drain to keep it open so i could brush my teeth and it wouldnt fill up and they charge $35 a day to park your car, they have 1 valet for the whole hotel so if you want your car you best call way ahead.I will never ever stay here again.

Check in was kind of a nightmare, we had to stand in line for about 30 minutes, no fault of the staff but they only had two people at the front desk and there were a lot of wedding guests checking in, support staff to help them would have been great. We then went to the room which was a premier suite, the pictures imply that there is a couch, dining table, and two chairs but that was not accurate. The room had one tiny loveseat and a chair plus a breakfast bar. The mirror in the living area was absolutely disgusting and there was some substance on the carpet by the bed. We then ordered take out from the restaurant and when we went to get it they had no idea what we were talking about. They then said that they had plated the meals because they didn’t know it was take out and thought it was an order placed in the restaurant. We had to wait another 40 minutes for them to cook it again. The food was great! They just didn’t send the 3 drinks that we had ordered and paid for or dressing for the salads and there were no apologies for us having to wait an hour and a half for our meals. Normally, I’m not very picky but having paid $360 for one night in Allentown, I expected a bit more.

I was greeted by Steven, the evening manager., He proudly took the time to give me a brief history on the process of bringing up The Americus to todays standards. The dining area is to the left and behind the front desk with a very accessible bar area which carried wines from the Piemonte region of Italy. Top shelf liquors were also available.
The ride up to the room in the dedicated elevator reminded me of being in an old fashioned elevator
It had the old fashioned arrow that indicated the floors the elevator was moving up to. Quite amusing to see while waiting for the elevator. Your room key gives access not only to the room but to the elevator which only climbs up to the floor where your room is. A very safe feature that eases a traveler’s mind from feeling as if in an unknown environment
The staff members are multilingual. The rooms have a sitting area with a couch and a sofa that can be utilized if guests happen to stop by. Additionally , a coffee maker with plenty of coffee is available as well as a mini refrigerator and an easy to use safe. The king size bed is elevated to give that King line feeling. The bathroom has plenty of mahogany hangers so one can hang fine clothes with. Toiletries are abundant as well as towels
Overall, if one is seeking a hotel experience with a nostalgic feel , The Americus Hotel in Allentown , Pa is the place to be. Oh, the proprietor is there every morning greeting guests for that extra personal touch

This was just a quick getaway for my husband's 50th birthday. We like staying at historic hotels. The Americus was beautiful! In our opinion, it was prettier that The Waldorf Astoria!
Only thing I want to share with others is that it is located downtown so you will get that "downtown" noise overnight. But I still had a good night's sleep because the bed was so comfortable!

Nice historic hotel centrally located with large spaces. Lots of history around the hotel on posters explaining the past. Bed was super comfy and toiletries provided.

Super professional staff, Valet parking was excellent.

The staff were great, but our room was dirty — hair and dust bunnies on the bathroom floor, wet carpet in the room, and a weird smell. The bed was very uncomfortable and we both woke up with sore necks and backs (not a typical occurance.
