This is a 400 year old hotel, situated beside the cathedral fromm 1220.
2. Floor, no elevator, but charming. Large room, separated toilet and bathroom. Both modern, the mainroom was old fashioned, like it should be. Really charming.
4.6
Lovely old hotel right next to Cathedral.

This hotel sits right in front of Metz Cathedral, amazing view from the front seating outside. Our room was fabulous and large, spacious, good shower with decent pressure, air con, old beams exposed but everything at an angle on the old floors as there is a tilt throughout. The staff were very nice, helpful throughout stay. The hotel is in a perfect location for food, restaurants, shops and sights, perfect. Its an old hotel not ideal for anyone with mobility issues which is ironic as its perfectly located in being close to everything you will want to see. I would return if I was back in Metz.

Lovely night but would wish we could have stayed longer

Great location right next to the Cathedrale, covered market and lots of restaurants. Hôtel is old and historic with decor appropriate to the historic feel. Bedrooms are spacious and bed was comfortable. No elevator so if you can’t do stairs I would recommend calling and asking for a room on the first floor. Breakfast was 13€ and consisted of breads, pastries, fruit, meats and cheese. Great affordable choice!
4.6
Simple hotel with a perfect location in town. Excellent restaurant just next door. Shabby- chic decor with lots of character
4.6
Very convenient and helpful.
4.6
A wonderful little hotel. Very comfortable, extremely courteous and friendly staff. Perfectly located. Easy to find and easy to park!
4.6
The main downfall of this property was being in the annexe which meant that the room was too dark by day, and too light at night. So I didn't really feel rested.
Air conditioning was a bit in and out, sometimes really good, sometimes not. Good enough though.
Staff fine, the room was a bit old-world, but I knew what I was booking. Great location for all the tourist stuff of Metz.
4.6
Ok hotel right next to the cathedral, far from the station. Other than the cathedral, not much to see. It was Monday so the covered market was closed and lots of restaurants and stores were closed too.
4.6
This property was adorable - it was like staying in a bed & breakfast. The property is right down the street from the cathedral as well as the main square, and there are plenty of restaurants and shopping options in the area. Great value!
4.6
This is an old hotel with lots of charm and character. Get the breakfast. It was on another level!
4.6
Absolutely beautiful, historic hotel slap-band next to Metz’ incredible gothic cathedral with everything on your doorstep.
Wonderful, friendly and welcoming staff and a very relaxed midday check-out (just as well as the bed was so comfy l struggled to get out of it) make this the perfect place to stay when visiting the beautiful city of Metz.

The cathedral view of this property is amazing. In general, the hotel is great - everything functioned, staff was helpful, rooms are really nice. We stayed in the annex, which was slightly less convenient (not a huge deal, though). And it took several hours to get a roll-away bed for our daughter. There is no shower curtain/glass on the bathtub, which makes it really hard to not make a mess. And there was a glass recycling facility right outside our room (not the hotel's fault, obviously), which was loud during much of the day. But the hotel itself was really nice, tons of restaurants nearby, great location.
4.6
Place was old and the room very small and no elevator.
4.6
Charming rooms, but beware several are three doors away in a separate building, and up some steep wooden open stairs - novel, but with no lift. The “shower” in our room was a shower attachment on a kidney-shaped bath, with nothing on the wall to hold it up - so no walk in shower. During our stay we had no working wifi, and no tv, and the zircon wasn’t working effectively, but we received no discount, so our room was not provided as advertised: disappointing. The location is excellent, and the rooms tidy and nicely furnished, but make sure to ask for a view over to the Cathedral. Breakfast is not inclusive: we skipped it and didn’t miss it. There are several coffee shops nearby, and some pleasant places next door to eat and drink in the evening.
4.6
Absolutely lovely place with wonderful staff. Convenient location, and waking up to see the cathedral from our room was the highlight of our stay.
Stars deducted only because unfortunately our room had no main shower, just a handheld shower over a bath. Everything was clean and well looked after though.
Note there is no on-site parking, and in the annexe at least, no lift. The stairs keep you fit though!
4.6
Location was perfect and just a beautiful old world hotel
4.6
Couldn't have a better location - right in the centre of Metz, opposite the cathedral. Lovely helpful staff (reception, chamber, breakfast), beautiful old building with character. Loved it!
4.6
Although no on site parking the car park is very close by. Staff exceptionally helpful and friendly. Room very clean and comfortable. Definitely going back.

Excellent location, beautiful romantic town and hotel very french

This property was great for our short (3 day) visit to Metz. The staff were helpful, lots of restaurants in the area. Good free bus around town including to the train station. The property is an older property but the bathrooms are up to date.
We were placed in an annex not in the main hotel building (3 doors away); the room was on the second floor; no elevator; our room looked on an interior courtyard (generous in the description) so no view at all.
4.6
Smooth check in, wonderful and helpful staff. We forgot our wine bottle opener, so we asked at the front desk and the gentleman found one for us as qell as wine glasses to use. No parking however you can use the parking garage near by at a reduced rate through hotel. Great location next the the cathedral and short walk downtown for shopping and food. No elevator, only a very old staircase that had uneven and narrow steps the higher you climbed. This was a challenge with our large suitcases. There were seating areas on each floor where you could enjoybthe city views while having a glass of wine. We can't wait to plan another trip to Metz so we can stay at this hotel.
4.6
Wonderful overnight stay in adjacent building Rm 408 [top floor). Quiet, comfortable bed, choice of pillows, lovely en-suite shower & a fantastic breakfast. Definitely stay here again.

Kenza was working the hotel front desk the night we booked and she was the most delightful welcoming host we have ever come across.
4.6
It's a lovely hotel in a historic house in an excellent location, however there are some shortcomings. Wi-fi was very slow on the third floor, the air con was leaky and made dripping sounds at night, and it would be good to have USB charging points as you would find in most hotels nowadays.
The biggest disappointment was being charged an extra 10 euros per night on checkout, without prior notice, for an extra bed for my son, even though we had specifically booked and paid for a 3 person room. They explained that the bed is additional to the basic price of the room, however it really should have been included; this very much felt like a hidden charge, and makes comparing hotel prices impossible.
4.6
The hotel is in a charming 17th century building by the cathedral. It is very convenient for walking around downtown Metz, and about a 20 minute walk from the train station. The common areas of the building are generally attractive and well-maintained, though some of the newer fixtures (like room doors) are a bit shabby. My room was clean and well-appointed, though the bed wasn’t especially comfortable. The staff were very friendly. Overall, given the location, price and amenities, I’d stay again.
4.6
Stayed several times before, this time stayed in the new anex.
Great view of the cathedral.
Windows that fully open.
Friendly staff and dog friendly.
4.6
Great location in period hotel overlooking cathedral.
4.6
Fantastic location for a visitor to the beautiful city of Metz. A hotel that has plenty of character and a great view of the cathedral. Staff very friendly and the room was comfortable.
4.6
Cute clean charming property in the heart of the city. We loved our stay here!
4.6
Right next to the Cathedral. The front desk was great! The rooms do not have an elevator maybe not suitable for older people to carry their own luggage.
4.6
Though it’s an older property the hotel is a fun experience for authentic all the world French living! My friends and I found it charming. The only thing that I would say was a negative was the amount of stairs to get up to the room and the smell of cigarette smoke in the rooms. Other than that it was lovely! The staff were very gracious and took all the luggage on the stairs. That made the stairs very doable.
4.6
The staff was very friendly and helpful, property was in a prime location for eating, shopping and sightseeing. It was also very convenient to come back for an hour midday to rest or drop off shopping bags. Close to many restaurants and sightseeing. Located directly across the cathedral! It is an authentic vintage Parisian boutique hotel. The bathrooms are modern and updated. The beds were comfortable, and the bedding was warm. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would 100 percent stay here again and highly recommend! There is no elevator because it is an older building with exposed wood beams so be mindful of the floor you would be on if you have trouble walking up stairs. We actually ended up staying 2 nights because we arrived a day early and they were able to accommodate us and we are very happy they did! Metz is a beautiful city with a rich history!
4.6
Lovely historic building and amazing proximity to the sites in Metz.
4.6
A charming, old fashioned, hotel in the centre of Metz. The outlook onto the Cathedral is fabulous and you are right in the centre of Metz as soon as you step outside the door.
The climb to the 2nd floor, on worn steps, was a little daunting but the room was charming and well appointed with a comfortable bed.
Parking in the La Cathedrale underground car park opposite was easy and plentiful and the discounted fee from the hotel was a bonus.
4.6
Please note we were put in the annex 4th floor no lifts we are seniors. After asking they moved us to first floor bit still 21 stairs, check when booking. Wifi was not working at all. Breakfast was awesome lots and lots of fresh fruit and sweets
4.6
Looks can be deceiving which is very common in these busy centres. All properties are distinguished with flaking paintwork and rustic detailing.the room was approached by a long hallway to an inner courtyard and three flights of stairs up to our room( really was part of the charm)
But inside the room was up to date and smart
4.6
This is a charming very old hotel, which combines a very ancient ambiance with efficient modern amenities. Even though located in the center of the city the room was very quiet and restful.
4.6
Great typical French hotel, with lot of old details. Great location in front of cathedral and parking around the corner.
Great service as well by offering free bottles of water
