We were picking our girl up from college.

Room was very comfortable. Bed and pillows were great.
Would like better tv offerings

It was just fine. Our family lived close by so the location was great
Mostly we showed and slept there. Gone for most of the day to be with our family

The Catrina is simple, modern, clean, and includes necessary amenities with an economical price.

I love this place. I feel safe here it's quiet. And you can be off the main road. I would love to see them put some sealed tile in the bathrooms. Those floor tiles just never seem clean to me. Otherwise it's so comfortable and Central located. Five stars

It was a great little hotel. It had everything I needed for a one night stay.
The draw back was, it had no working usb ports therefore I was unable to charge overnight. It also didn’t have a table to be able to eat or do any work.
The people out front were very nice! Thank you for your support. I will stay here again if I had the opportunity.

Horrible motel. No human service, disgusting rooms. Felt like a short term motel for the unhoused.

We enjoyed staying here and would definitely be our 1st option whenever we are in the SF area.
Quiet and safe.
Rooms were cleaned and parking is spacious.

This was a great alternative to spending a ton of money for a hotel in San Francisco. It's quite near two Caltrain stops that take you straight into downtown SF. The rooms were clean. The beds were comfortable. The air conditioner worked great. Although it's right on a major road, our room was really quite quiet. And there's lots of great food in downtown San Mateo. Good ratio of value to cost.

Everything is remote no live person and long wait for using computer at checkin

Staff was very helpful and accommodating. The room itself was adequate for my needs and a very comfortable bed. Some cosmetic items need attention to in the room and as I suggested that more adequate lighting be provided at the workstation.

The property and our room had been recently renovated to a very good standard. The gentleman at the reception was very professional and kind.

When we arrived, the front desk area had no employees. The building was extremely hot. We had to check in via the virtual assistant, he was nice but it was weird. We were given a piece of paper that had the room code. The doors make you scan your palm before you enter the code, which was weird. The room was also way too hot and smelled like mold. The whole place was sketchy. We ended up booking a different hotel and leaving. I wish I could get my money back.

Check-in was done via a video call. Unfortunately the agent had a thick accent and the video stream was choppy, so it was difficult to understand him, so I had to ask him to repeat himself a few times. Room was pretty dark, only one overhead light and it was right over the door. Half the room was lit by small desk lights, that were not bright enough to read by. I was locked out of my room because the electronic keypad battery died. Without a live person onsite after dark I was stuck for 30 minutes unable to get into my room.

I liked the location of the hotel, pretty central area with lots of dining options nearby! Will revisit!

The staff was nice and the room was clean and tastefully renovated. There is on site parking. In fact I was able to back into a spot right in front of my door. The hotel is within walking distance to a lot of restaurants, too. I’ll be staying again.

Great place to stay and not far from lots of sights to go check out

Room was clean and bed was comfier than expected. We got very lucky with a room towards the entrance, as the overhead limit for vehicles is 7ft (we have a truck with gear on the roof, so we wouldn’t fit if we had a room further down!). Just be aware if you’re a traveler with a larger vehicle and a luggage/ski rack on top. Area was quiet with no issues, and we had no problems hearing other guests through the walls.

Overall it’s an excellent place to stay close to shop!

The Catrina Hotel is a good option for visiting the Bay Area and Silicon Valley. Close to major freeways, immediate neighbourhood is alright, and a large mall is nearby. The rooms are generally fine however our bathroom window had considerable mold and faced the alley/parking lot of the business next door, which led to some late night and early morning noise. Other than that, no complaints.

This was the first time we checked into a kiosk with a live person on the screen. I didn't get the name of that person but they were very nice and helpful. We will be staying here again, the next time we are visiting family in the area.

The pictures on the website are miss informing, the picture is an office building across the street,
This hotel is a tow story old building building, the our door setting that is on the picture is out of order. The floor of the room was old and dirty. Please see attached pictures

Great value and convenient to many restaurants.
We pulled in late so the parking was our only issue.
But that was mainly because so many people parked into neighboring spots. Dog friendly was a plus and loved that there was no carpeting. Stocked w water, coffee, snacks and mini fridge too! Thank You

This was a great stay. The owner was more than accommodating.

The gentleman that checked us in was so welcoming - if you told me he was the owner and was very proud of this establishment - I would completely believe it (and agree that he should be :-) Also - the fact we were 15 minutes from the airport was a god send cause travel anxiety is real :-)

It’s an upgraded side street motel. They did it well, but don’t let photos fool you. Check in was handled by a kiosk that connects via video feed to a person in a call center with English I could barely understand. And when trying to check out, the kiosk wouldn’t connect at all. For the money though it’s not bad, the pictures made me think it was a real hotel.
