The staff is not very nice . We wanted to see a room before reserved here …. « you can go wherever else you want « .
No smile , no hello …just a strange look at us (I’m not American and my girlfriend is Mexican ) .
The rooms are not clean at all . Just a towel . Cleaning outside …hum . I saw 2 days the dishes left besides the elevator which brought ants everywhere .

Enjoyed my stay!

Amazing location, best street to stay on in Merida, has a great cafe and Italian restaurant directly below and a great dessert place across the street.

The staff, especially Ysa, was wonderful. The room size quite large. You had to call the desk to get hot water several times during our stay. One morning there was no water at all. When it rained the front entrance floods badly. Levelling the ground, or building a walkway would probably help.

The location of this modest hotel is great! Right on pases Montejo where you can stroll anytime of the day or night. The receptionist was such a lovely lady, very helpful and professional. Gracias!

Entry level looks bad but room, bed was very nice.
Breakfast was almost half the cost of the room.,discouraging and disappointing for that reason we see kipper breakfast.

Stayed on many occasions, primarily for the location. Right in the centre of the activities on Paseo Montejo. Whilst the rooms are basic, they have everything. Only advantage the premium version has down the road, is it’s own parking

Great location and area to walk around. The room itself was spacious and clean and the staff was friendly and accommodating.
Didn’t like that the towels were pretty old, handle in the restroom didn’t work and the safe ended up malfunctioning while we were there. Also had to keep asking for toilet paper when most places have enough already in the room.
Luckily we got a room in the far back of the hotel but still was pretty noisy. Those in the first rooms probably had it worse with the noise but have to keep in mind that there are restaurants right below.
Other than that it was a pretty good stay!

Good value for money, staff is super friendly. Only problem is the property has big issues with water supply- we had to go to a different hotel (complimentary by the original hotel) to get a hot shower

We come to Merida and the beach towns twice a year and we always begin and end our stay in Merida at the Plaza Hotel Kavia. This is our third year to stay at the Plaza Hotel Kavia. There are so many things to like about this hotel, but the most important thing is the cleanliness. The staff does a really good job at keeping the place clean to the highest standards. One thing I noticed though: we used to get two bottles of water every day but no more. I hope the owners will change their mind and continue with the two bottles of water a day because Merida is HOT and the OXXO store is a bit of a walk on a hot day. That is the only criticism I have. The hotel is in a great location and there is a coffee shop that is open until 10 pm. The Hotel Plaza Kavia is our go-to place for two good reasons: the cleanliness and the location. I highly recommend!!!

The room was great. Air conditioning was awesome! Beds, shower fantastic. All very modern & upscale. Only complaint has to do with their “systems”, when asked for extra pillows, staff stated can’t give without checking w manager. Then next day were told the extra pillows had to be requisitioned from a warehouse. The loud noises coming off the street kept me awake a couple nights.

The hotel had no water for a day and a half - this included not being able to flush the toilet or take a shower. 😑 Not acceptable! We will not be returning.

I really enjoyed this hotel. My husband and I needed a place to stay last minute and we were able to stay here for the night. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are super nice and the hotel is close to many restaurants. The only thing we had trouble with when we arrived is that the toilet wouldn’t flush and the water leaked out of the shower. For the toilet one of the staff members came and fixed it for us and after that we had no problems with flushing. Other than those two things this hotel was perfect!

Amazing friendly staff! Super attentive and offered great recommendations for places to eat and drink. Room was super clean and spacious. Beds were a little bit hard though. Parking is limited and a block away but there were still spaces when we arrived and we didn’t mind the walking distance. Location is also perfect! We will be back!

There was a sewer smell at the bathroom all the time.

Beautiful hotel in the heart of Merida. Great shower, beds and linens. USB for phones and great lighting.
5.0
Large and spacious room. The parking facility is very inconvenient since it is off property and you need each time to ask a staff mem ber to come unlock the gate. No access without the staff.

The staff was always friendly and attentive. The only minus is that the parking lot is in a nearby block, it would be ideal if it was part of the premises, but it's understandable given the location and price. Overall great experience and value!

Beautiful, spacious room, comfortable bed. Friendly staff, but had issues with shower not draining, and the toilet tank taking its time to refill. The pool also had issues draining. It has nice windows but due to privacy one has to pull down shades so there is actually very little natural light. Overall is an ok place yo stay very convenient to wonderful restaurants and coffee shops

The customer service was excellent. The location is great, within walking distance to many places, including the downtown area. The only issue we had was the cleanliness of the room. The floors and bathroom were dirty. We asked for the room to be cleaned twice and those areas were never cleaned.
