The view is amazing, the house is filthy.
Unfortunately no one cares about this property. The photos are so misleading. Huge stains on a filthy carpet make your feet turn absolutely black. The sofa being held up by a board also filthy, air vents clogged with dirt and mold on the bathroom ceiling. Pots and pans are worn out with loose handles, and only enough dishes for 8 people. while the photos show a fireplace as a feature,it is not usable to guest. Watch your feet on the deck as blackberries are growing up through the deck boards. . This house needs some serious TLC to bring it back to rentable.

Location was great. Good access to a great beach. Lots of room. Furniture could use updating.

The home is right on the beach. The layout of the property is good for our extended family to get together in one place.
The furnishings are old and worn - in need of replacement.
We brought beach games and had a great time sitting on the deck and playing on the beach

This house was perfect for our needs. A group of graduating girls and their youth leaders who just wanted a week away at the beach. The view is fantastic! Lots of space!

The location, the views, the amount of space, all great!! Got off to a rocky start with some qeustions on supplies and furnishings, but local staff was very responsive. We will definitely consider using this home again if we come back to Rockaway. Living room furniture is very worn and tired. A bit of investment in some new furniture and a little freshening up would make this house a rock star.

Wow, where do I even begin? This Vrbo spot is the definition of epic! The place is massive, complete with a sauna that feels like a cozy cloud, and views that will make your jaw drop - seriously top-notch scenery! The house was spotless, the beds were like sleeping on a fluffy marshmallow, and don't even get me started on the firepit - perfect for roasting marshmallows under the stars. And let's talk convenience - everything you need is just a short stroll away! Plus, that view of the rocks? Insane! With 2.5 bathrooms, you never have to wait, and the cherry on top was the late check-out they kindly offered. Can't wait to go back for another round of awesomeness!

We loved the location. That couldn’t be beat. Great house for a large group. We had 9 adults, 2 kids and 2 babies and fit very comfortably. As others have said it’s not the cleanest, not horrible but not great. You will want to bring cooking things if you are a large group. There are no cookie sheets or large pans. Kitchen over all was lacking things a large group needs. The Master bedroom has the best view and is a HUGE room. All others are just rooms. Again, for a large group you have one super nice bedroom and the rest aren’t so there is disparity there. :)
Check out time is 10AM which is earlier than most we’ve been to. The day or so before you check out you get notified that you can pay for a 1 PM check out but we found that a little gimmicky and made it out by 10.
There were a few little things that needed fixed and vacasa was really good at getting back to us.
All this being said I would definitely stay here again and recommend it. A cleaner home and better stocked kitchen this would easily be 5 stars :)

This property is just as it is described. A stones throw away from the beach and the waves it is impossible not to relax while you’re here. There are private rooms for all your guests and a wonderful sauna to warm you up after a spring day on the beach. The property is easy to find, easy to get comfortable in and the property owners are easy to communicate with. We could not have asked for better weather and spent so much time on the patio soaking up the salty air and sunshine. This property is wonderful, clean and inviting. It felt like home.

The location of the home is ideal. Right on the beach. The home itself was not very clean. The amenities listed either were not available to guests (fireplace) or did not work (hot tub jets and sauna). Towels and sheets had stains and there was so much dust in the vents air could not adequately get through. There was dust and cob webs in the upstairs hallway and on fixtures. The dishwasher was out of service but left loaded with dirty dishes from previous people. The house sleeps 14, but there are not enough dishes or silverware for everyone at one time. We had to purchase paper plates and silverware to use during out stay. There were 2 garbage bags left for 14 people over 3 days. We had to purchase garbage bags. The upstairs main toilet did not operate correctly and we had to remove the lid every time someone had to flush to ensure the handle did not fall off. There was visible water damage on the ceiling above the fireplace in the living room and a small hole where it appeared to have been drained. If amenities are not available to guests or not functioning properly, they should not be listed as a "perk" of the home. The cleaners showed up before checkout time. Did not go above and beyond by any means. Bedding is noticeably aged and well used. Couches have boards under the cushions and are very uncomfortable. The white chairs in the living room have foam pads covering springs poking out. Streaks were left all over windows and mirrors. Very poor quality care of the home.

The location is the main selling point! There are steps right off the back of house that land you right onto the beach. The back decks have you overlooking and hearing the ocean which was wonderful. Walking distance to town (Dollar General, gift shops, small grocery store, small kids playground). The house though needs an update. The couches are not comfortable to lounge on, the cushions constantly slide out and you sink to the back of the couch. Many of the outdoor chairs were broken. Not a single spice/oil/flour/sugar in the kitchen to be found so if you plan to cook bring absolutely everything you need. We have stayed in many vacay rentals and have not experienced that before. The kitchen has the very basics for pots/pans. Only 2 extra rolls of toilet paper were provided and no additional paper towels. For a house accommodating 14 adults it would have been nice to see a few more basics. The living room carpet was stained. Alot of missing dresser and cabinet handles in the bathrooms and bedrooms. The master bedroom bed was comfortable and updated but the other beds were cheap or outdated and uncomfortable. We did have plenty of linens and towels though! The dryer needs an update, it took at least 2-3 cycle restarts to get an average sized load dried.
Overall the house was just okay and could really stand to have a thorough deep clean and update. The location was perfect though.
For reference we had 2 families with multiple kids ranging from 3-13 and 2 additional couples.

We loved the location....the deck....the kitchen....the dining room....the windows....the front door.....the little brick fenced yard. The rest of the house needs to be restored and upgraded.

Great home for a family gathering for an early Christmas. We had folks from 80 to 1 years old, it was safe for all, everything worked as advertised. All of our family loved this house. We would definitely stay here again.

So perfect! My husband loves a sauna, I love a bath! Best of both worlds. One night with hubby, one night with my kiddos and grands. Great location for the candy cane express, and having a Christmas Experience. The house was clean and well stocked. I had the greatest night sleep. Only a few minor things weren't perfect. 😁

Beautiful beach access. The light in the laundry room went out, had to use a flashlight to finish our wash. All had a great time and enjoyed the ocean view. Thank you.

walking out the door to the beach is the best. Sleeping with the sound of the waves. The rooms were great. Kitchen was open so we all spent alot of out time in there. we would love to go back and stay but as with everything else prices went way up.

We enjoyed our stay at this great house that sits right on the beach. The front of the house has a beautiful ocean view. We loved the large kitchen and table big enough for our family of 10. There was plenty of room for all of us. We were close to crabbing at Kelly’s Marina, downtown and hiking near Manzanita. We had a great long weekend in Rockaway. .

Dirty. Hairs in the showers. Found hair in the bed. Little kids sticky handprints all over windows. tile floors need a good cleaning. Sticky cabinet doors. Dryer vent plugged. No way to make ice. No cleaning supplies in the house to clean up after the last guest. A house with 14 beds but we only hand 3 rolls of tp and four dishwasher pods for 7 nights. Over $1000 in fees including cleaning and damage. This was a ripoff for the quality of care and customer service.

We loved the place. It was clean and spacious with tons of light and great views. Yes some fixtures and furniture look dated, but it’s part of the charm.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. House was comfortable for our family. Several things were not--carpets were in dire need of cleaning (why anyone would put carpeting in a beach house is beyond me) and there were no screens in the windows. Still, we would probably return.

There is much to love about Valhalla - huge deck, spacious family bedroom, incredible views, well stocked kitchen, and it's steps from the beach!! The dirty carpet and some "past their prime" living room furniture keep this from being a five-star property, but I still recommend it!!

We had a wonderful vacation at the Valhalla. There were 8 adults. 3 couples and 2 singles. The 2 singles shared the children bedroom. Plenty of space. The master bedroom was the dream, and hard not to fight over it.You can tell they have been renovating, but I think they are at the tail end of the renovations, and will be a dream home when all is done.

The home was large with plenty of room and beautiful views. The recliner in the living room is awful, the hideabedin the upstairs is very uncomfortable, we had to put the mattress on the floor. Some of the pots and pans need replacing. When we put water in the largest pot it dripped water, unusable. Apile of bush trimmings were left on the deck when we got there. If these things are taken care of, I could recommend it to o the potential guests.

Let me begin with the positives: Great location to the beach; cutting down the brush so that the view of the beach is unimpeded is a plus; new deck is beautiful; large kitchen and dining room seating was great; new tv is a plus but rarely turned on and a definite bonus the house now has Wi-Fi. Now for the negatives: I've rented this home many times over the last ten years and during this time my physical mobility has become poor. Therefore, getting up the two outside steps and the doorway threshold requires assistance. I'm not able to go up the stairs in the house so I'm unable to bathe. Unfortunately, because of my physical limitations I won't be able to rent this property again. It was also noted the hours to access the property as well as exiting have significantly changed. Previously the property could be accessed at 3 pm - now 5 pm and leaving was at 11 not 10. With so many people it's really difficult to adhere to the 10 am time. I understand COVID, however with kids it just makes it almost unreasonable. In fact, the hours don't even coincide with hours at hotels which is 3 pm for access and noon for departure. Reconsideration of these hours is needed. In addition, the headboard in the downstairs bedroom is old and rusted - needs to be replaced as well as the nightstand which is also outdated. The sink stopper in the downstairs bathroom is broken and needs repair; the mattress in the master bedroom upstairs definitely needs replacing; the dining room table is showing its age. Aesthetically the interior needs modernizing - example the two single chairs in the living room have slip covers on them, a sure sign the material is worn out. Even though these concerns need to be addressed, I would still recommend renting the property.

The location and view can't be beat in this house. The large deck is nice and the clearing of the bushes out front really gives you a nice view. The space is great for a large family. Nice kitchen and living space, but it was very dirty and the beds are bad. The blinds in the main bedroom on the slider and in the bunk room are broken and wont go up, so you cannot enjoy the view. The carpets are in bad need of cleaning and the floors turned our feet black within an hour. I found a mop and bucket and washed the floors twice with no cleaner and got bucket after bucket of black water just off the kitchen floor. The little lights in the kitchen took two clorox wipes each to get them clean. Covid clean? I don't think so. While I know that keeping up with windows at the beach is an ongoing process on the outside, I would expect to have the handprints on the inside cleaned off before arriving, and a good hosing could have at least cleared the bugs off the outside windows. We called SVR and they did give us our cleaning deposit back. I will stay here again, but will come the day before the rest of my family and give it a good cleaning. I know we left it cleaner than it was when we got there. Also picking up the key in another town 25 minutes away is such a hassle. You really cannot get into the house at 5:00. And when you check out you have to take it back there which adds another hour onto your trip if you are headed out of town in the other direction. Why not a lock box? or leave keys on the counter when you leave?

Pros: Great location (oceanfront) and professional property management.Cons: This house has so much potential but unfortunately was in poor condition, very dated, and spooky. Things like the dishwasher, closet doors, and windows were falling apart. The dishwasher was not anchored and could have caused serious injury as it was sliding out. While there was sufficient kitchen supplies, several things were dirty such as dishes, cookware, and coffeemaker. One bedroom had no lights but a tiny plug-in night light. Another downside is the fact that the house keys had to be picked up and dropped off at the property management office located 20 minutes from the house. There was a key lock box at the house so it's unclear why that wasn't used.

Everything was great. The kitchen faucet was loose when we arrived and there was no seal around it. If water gets splashed on the counter (as it generally does during dishwashing) it leaks into the cabinet below. Just so you are aware. The absence of beach chairs was a little annoying. They cost about $10 at your local rite aid. It wouldn't be much of an investment. Other than that we loved it. It was great for the kids and great for the adults. We would definitely consider it again in future. This review was submitted while the home was managed by a different property management company

We had a wonderful time and loved the house. The view was fantastic and it felt like the ocean was coming right into the master bedroom. We did not plan on watching TV, which was a good thing because neither of the two TV's worked. There was a VCR, but no connecting cable. The stereo did not function either. For our stay, this was ideal, but if you want electronics, it may be best to bring your own.

We had a great time at this house - it comfortably fit 2 families. The only downside was not being able to bring a small pet and having to arrange for her care (15 lb dog) elsewhere. Otherwise we'd love to stay again.

We booked Valhalla and found it as advertised. The images were accurate and showed the home kind of old, which we didn't mind. Its ocean view is amazing even though only one bedroom had a direct view to the ocean, we didn't mind that either because we were planning to use bedrooms only for sleeping. The living room and kitchen were both spacious and had direct view to the ocean.I would normally have given this property a 5-star review, but there were some minor issues here and there that bumped it down to 4.Although it had a very large curved flat screen TV, the remote controller had dead batteries and was glued shut for some reason, not allowing us to change them, so watching the TV - or casting - became a chore. The bathroom sink drains were definitely clogged beyond being adequately usable, we had to stop the water mid-washing hands to let the drain catch up.The water kettle was rusted on the inside, so we opted for using a pot to boil water. The doors were not aligned to their frames, so we had to close doors forcibly, which is unfortunate for anybody who's asleep. While there was patio chairs to be used outside, there was no outdoor patio table.Other than that, we've had tons of fun spending time in Valhalla. We had planned on using the propane-powered BBQ grill, but unfortunately it'd been heavily raining the day before and the grease pan was full of water, so we decided to skip on BBQ.

Thanksgiving with the family - this house really set the stage for a wonderful, welcoming, very accommodating celebration. Big kitchen well stocked, living area and bedrooms good - however lots of bathroom sharing - and of course the ocean just a stones throw away. Great family getaway. Late check-in made it tough on the young children... we were lucky to get in a little earlier than the 5:00 check-in, but it was stressful. Sunset office people were very nice

This is our second time at Valhalla and we absolutely love it. It is a perfect house in the perfect location. The only thing missing was a full propane tank of gas on the barbecue - we ended up eating leftovers our last night instead of the steak we had planned!! But that was minor compared with the beautiful experience we had once again. Love this place!
