The day before we left for our vacation we learned that this was the lower unit. On the AD/Descriptor page it said DUPLEX. I have stayed in duplex units before and this was basically the basement. It is a very old house where the first floor is underground so basically it is a basement. When we walked in the unit smelled of mold. That basement kind of smell. Trying to overlook this, but I am allergic to mold and had issues with my asthma there, I went out to the hot tub which is a major draw for me and a must for my kids. I was so grossed out. There were bubbles of either soap scum or gross human fluids. I spent 15 min trying to clean it out. We did cautiously go into the hot tub and got out within about 10 minutes itchy. It was nasty but my kids were eager so we tried. I had rented 4 nights and left after 2. I wanted y go home the first night but tried to stick it out despite the mold and needing to take meds because it was expensive. There were people upstairs and there was no privacy outside. I reached out to the landlord, who kept sending robotic appearing messages asking if we enjoyed the place and what would it take for a great rating. I informed them of these problems but continued to get these robotic emails about high ratings and being comfortable. I didn’t hear back from the owner. We left by 945am Tues am after arriving Sun. Gross. Smelly and the owners were unresponsive. No one should be deceived about the type of dwelling&mold. They kept my money for all night

My partner and I really enjoyed our stay here. Jason and Jamie were great and I loved how frequently they reached out to make sure everything was alright.
Unfortunately, the first night we stayed, there was an extremely loud party next door and I was kept awake for most of the night by men screaming outside the windows & people stomping around the unit upstairs. I'm a light sleeper and could hear pretty much every footstep from the upstairs unit. Thankfully most guests vacated after that night so I was able to relax for the rest of the weekend!
The hot tub was wonderful but due to it being a shared space we were unable to utilize it as much as we wanted. The indoor amenities were great: powerful water heater, coffee bar, & snacks were all appreciated.

We had a wonderful time during the Cousins Weekend. The location was perfect! We hit the beach, the outlet Mail and then split meals between restaurants and grilling on location. Jason kept in contact with us throughout the weekend in case we needed anything.
Planning on repeating next year and booking again at this adorable little hideaway! Thanks Jason and Jamie!

I reserved this place for my family along a weekend and the place has 2 units. The unit upstairs was rented to a group of 8 men in a heavy and continuous party. The shared spaces (hot tub, yard, etc) were left with dozens of unattended beer cans, cloths and the tub was filthy enough not to go in. Also, several drunks on top of your ceiling all night long. If you look for a quiet and clean and safe place, this is not the right one.

Stayed here for 1 night in the off-season on an overnight stay during a business trip. The pictures of the property are very accurate. It is a duplex - some of the comments claim being unaware of this fact, but you can clearly see in the exterior photos that there is an up and a down unit. There were people above us, they were up very late, and you could definitely hear their footsteps and voices. It's just the nature of being in a unit where you have people above you. In the end, a little white noise covered it up just fine and I had no issued sleeping.
The neighborhood was very quiet and perfectly safe. The interior of the unit was very up to date and nice looking, and it was immaculately clean.
I would recommend this property as a place to stay in any season.

My husband and I stayed for 3 nights at Jason and Jamie’s cottage. It was very clean, tastefully furnished with high quality appliances. Bed was very comfortable and the hot tub as delightful. The cottage had everything we needed to have a comfortable stay. The hosts were very friendly and responsive. Loved the area - Indiana Dunes was fantastic. Definitely recommend.

My girlfriend and I were looking for last minute accommodations and found Jason and Jamie's beach apartment in Sheridan Beach. I was having issues trying to book the same day and Jason was extremely helpful in trying to accommodate. Unfortunately, there were other occupants, so we had to wait until the next day, but Jason had the place ready to go for us right away. The place was decked out in beach vibe decor and was VERY clean. They had all the amenities we needed for our stay, including pots and pans, and a washer and dryer. The garage was made into a game room, complete with darts and a foosball table. He had board and card games that my girlfriend and I took advantage of. We broke out the 1000pc puzzle and gave up after two minutes. They also have a hot tub, complete with LEDs. It was clean and very well kept. They also had a firepit, in which we bought some wood, but unfortunately, it rained both nights of our stay. Thank you to Jason's excellent customer service and prompt communication! If I'm ever looking for a place again, I will definitely be looking for his property.

Overall the place was very clean and nice, but I was not told it was a duplex until the day of. I did not enjoy being woken up at 7am to people walking and moving chairs around upstairs. Other than that we enjoyed our stay.

Home very well stocked, very cute and clean inside. We're able to walk to restaurants and Sheridan beaches. Very friendly and safe area. Wine tasting, golfing and excellent restaurants nearby.

The only thing that isn’t really stated is that it’s a duplex. In which if I had known I wouldn’t have rented. Other than that enjoyed my stay!

Check in was easy and the unit was all clean and ready. Beds were comfy, the water was nice and warm. Bathroom was clean as well as the kitchen. It’s clean and relatively modern. We felt safe too; the property is well lit.
I my opinion, I wouldn’t bring more than three persons, and there is a lack of adequate space to place luggage and belongings (no closets, and the drawers are flimsy). Two persons are perfect and three is about max. 4 persons (their max) would be a bit cramped.
There’s only a few nuances I have: with the shower lever (it’s backwards: H is cold; C is hot), the toilet has a bad seal and water trickles - annoying, and lack of space in the kitchen. Not sure if the unit really needs all the air fresheners?
