Place was great , staff was awesome very helpful

Someone commented that the outside looks like a crack house. I can’t disagree. They really should do something to make the outside look more inviting. They make up for it though with their friendly service and freebies. Soft serve ice cream, popsicle hot line, candy, snacks and the continental breakfast. Room was big and clean. Just old. We would have stayed there again but they had really raised their price for the next time we were coming for a concert. The only bummer was that I realized shortly after we left that I had forgot my swim suit hanging on the shower rod. It never made it to the lost and found.

What makes this hotel five star is undoubtedly the staff. They couldn't do enough to help and always with a smile. I was especially grateful to the reception staff. Although I arrived safely at LA Airport, my 2 suitcases did not, and the info given to me at the airport would not give me access to trace them. The staff made phone calls for me and thankfully they turned up 24 hours later just in time for me to get my taxi to my cruise ship. Without my suitcases I would have had to return home.
Another great thing about this hotel is the free snacks available 24 hours and ice cream available all day from 10.00am. The included continental breakfast was plentiful. Although my room did not have a balcony (I was only staying 2 nights) there were plenty of rooms that did. The swimming pool is open 24 hours and was being much enjoyed by children and adults. I would certainly use it again if I was staying in LA

As always the service at The Magic Castle Hotel surpassed anything experienced anywhere in the world! The location is an added bonus, and having access to the amazing club next door makes it next level. I will never stay anywhere else now unless they're booked solid!

Our stay at the Magic Castle was perfect. We were greeted with incredibly friendly staff and champagne upon arrival. They asked about our plans, which included a show at the Hollywood Bowl and they informed us that we could walk to it. Such a great tip as we were prepared to take the shuttle. It saved us so much hassle. The room was clean and spacious. Property is walkable to many restaurants, bars and sites. Would definitely recommend and stay again in the future!

A unique hotel experience. Super friendly, creative a bit run down, but it really doesn’t matter, since you feel so welcome.

This is just the best hotel in America!
Seriously... Yes the decor is tired and it needs a refurb and a paint-job, but it really doesn't matter as the customer service is second to none.
The kids smiles widened hearing of all the complementary sweets, ice-cream, soft drinks, popsicles, 24 hour pool, pop-corn and movie nights.
I was very happy with the sofa bed and free coffee.
It's also in a perfect position in Hollywood for sightseeing.
Thanks team. Best customer experience ever!

Staff went above and beyond. Kevin made a point to know all of the kids names and addressed them personally each time he saw them. Popsicle hotline and free snacks were a cool feature!

Do not miss this property if you’re staying in Los Angeles with children, I promise you won’t be disappointed. The staff and amenities are top notch!

We love the staff there! Always such a great experience. Know you are staying in an older hotel that has been renovated, so it’s not the newest place, but the amenities and staff more than make up for that!

The staff make this place amazing. It’s a little run down and could do with a good clean, but I’d return for the staff and service, plus location. The kids would return for the popsicles and snacks!

This was one of our favourite hotels on the trip. Great location, great parking, great staff, great pool (that was actually open mid May and heated). Loved the movies and the snacks. The room was a great size. Its also right near the walk of fame, but you dont get any of the noise or business. The only negatives were the room smelt a little of gas when we came in. The floor wasnt in the best condition - in one place in the living room there was a nail head protruding from the floorboards which I stuck a plaster over so as it didnt injur the kids. Lastly, we had read that you get entry to the magic club if you stay there, so we brought dinner clothes especially and it turned out that only applies if you book direct and it also requires a booking months in advance. I wouldnt let any of this put you off though and I'd certainly stay again!

We couldn't have asked for a better start to our long overseas trip. After a long flight we were welcomed with refreshments and lots of welcoming smiles. The attention to detail of all the complimentary "extras' and acts of kindness to go above and beyond made our stay enjoyable. I would highly recommend anyone with a young family to stay here. it's withing walking distance of Hollywood Blvd and central to many other places to see. We hope to return again one day for a longer stay. My daughter hasn't
stopped raving on about the Magician who visited the hotel to interact with guests during breakfast. Thank you again for a wonderful few days in LA.

This hotel is run down and gross. The walls are thin and you can hear the people next to you. Staff is great but hotel needs to be renovated.

Hotel is very close to Hollywood Boulevard - only a short walk. Enjoyed the complimentary breakfast. Free snacks available. Complimentary self use laundry.
Only downside was the number of stairs to our room and the room was a bit small.

I have stayed at the Magic Castle multiple times. This recent trip was to see a show at the Hollywood Bowl which is so convenient. The staff and amenities really make the MC stand out. Kevin and Nick were phenomenal! Our room was clean and comfortable. My partner and I will definitely be back the next time we are in LA! Thank you!

Stayed here one night for our trip to Universal Studios (only like 10 mins away) the next day. Sadly we didn't check in till 9 pm. The receptionist was ABSOLUTELY the sweetest thing and we were greeted with champagne. Kevin ran and changed it to sparkling cider since we don't drink. Parking is extra (no surprise there). They had a movie playing outside in the pool area and they were serving popcorn. My 11 year old was bummed we didn't get there but was happy with the ice cream machine and free snacks. The room had a sitting area, breakfast area, and a small kitchen. The beds were SUPER comfy. The pull out couch was a pull out couch comfy, if you get my drift :) The only down side was I did trip once because the flooring was a bit uneven. I don't know really how to explain it. It was like the floor panel was separating a bit so it cause the floor to be uneven. I just told my party, careful here and it wasn't a problem after. The AC's were a bit loud for me but considering I have a 19 month old toddler who wakes up at the drop of a dime, the "white noise" was perfect. My husband and I agreed that the next time we go to Universal, we will stay here before and after our trip.

This was an amazing hotel. It was like an apartment. It had a one bedroom, full kitchen, living room, dining table all free snacks. This hotel was one of a kind.

My only complaint about this hotel is the room we checked into was very ran down. Floors were scratched up walls were dirty and the sink was stopped up. They knew the sink was stopped up because a plumber showed up while we were there he was unable to fix the sink so we were moved to the exact same make and model room and it was an excellent condition. So why did you give us the ran down room from the start. Other than that customer service amenities the staff the people the comfort was the best I've ever experienced in my 47 years of life. From Seattle to California to Las Vegas this is the best hotel I ever stayed at I just wish they would have gave us the nicer room from the beginning.

The dirtiest hotel ever. More hair and dust than I have ever seen. Staff was really nice

You will not find a friendlier place to stay in LA, the USA, and possibly worldwide. The reception team are outstanding, nothing was too much trouble and they have vast reserves of local knowledge. Rooms were a decent size, beds were good. The list of free snacks is enormous. Included self serve breakfast had cereals and pastries, yoghurt and fruit, plus endless filter coffee and a machine for the rest. The location is amazing for the main drag and Universal Studios is a 7 minute drive away. Easy to get take out delivered when you don't have the energy to go adventuring.
The hotel and rooms are a little tired, end of negatives.

Great spot with great service and A staff that really appreciate its guests. They make a motel feel like a Castle :-)

The good: The staff was friendly for the most part, location was great, having access to snacks/ice cream/soda/laundry at no additional cost was great. However, it didn't way out the bad.
The bad: The outlet where the heater for the living room where the pull out bed is located had a complete fire hazard. The cord to the heater was completely burned and the outlet where it was plugged in was charred (see pic) I cant imagine what would have happened if I attempted to use this and this was the room my kids were in.
I told the staff and all they said was they were sorry. The nights were really cold and even with multiple blankets it was freezing.
The refrigerator had a lock on it that wouldn’t work and when I told the staff they said they couldn’t have someone look at it until the following day which is when we were checking out so we couldn’t even utilize it. The people directly across from our room left their door open with the TV blaring and arguing throughout the night and when I brought it up to the staff nothing was done.
I booked this place based on the amenities and even with those I would not recommend this place the fact that there was zero concern on the heating issue and fire hazard was enough for me to not go back.

What can I say? The magic castle hotel was a perfect little oasis. In the middle of Hollywood! The staff were simply amazing and helpful at any time of the day or night. It was a great place for families, as well as for couples.

We will definitely stay here again. Both Nicks at the front desk were outstanding and made our day of travel delays and stress melt away. The free snacks were a lifesaver, the room was small but clean and adequate, and although the shower in our room was pretty wonky the hospitality made up for it in spades.
