About this house rental

Oma's House is a peaceful retreat with historic charm, centrally located, and minutes away from the Abilene Convention Center, Downtown, SODA District, Abilene Christian University, and Hendricks Hospital North.

The property features a large fenced in back yard, gazebo with outdoor seating and basketball court. Balls and chalk are provided for an impromptu game of hopscotch or four square. There is also a large selection of board games for that perfect family game night.

The kitchen is fully equipped with dishes, pots, pans and cooking utensils, as well as basic spices.

This house is so charming and was perfect for our stay. Location was great and neighbors are friendly. Don’t go in expecting sleek and modern because this old house has a comfortable vintage vibe. Bet it has lots of stories to tell.

We only spent 12 hours at the house but it was great for what we needed. Comfortable beds, lots of room, clean bathrooms with lots of extras and quiet peaceful neighborhood. We would stay here again.

My husband and I stayed overnight with our 4 month baby. Although we only stayed 1 night, I felt like this charming house had all of the essentials and fully equipped for guests. The entire process was easy and so much better than staying at a hotel. Every cabinet was labeled, making it easy to locate anything we needed. Both bathrooms were stocked with toiletries. All the rooms were cozy. We really enjoyed our stay.

I can only hope we are able to get back to Abilene to stay here longer next time! This house was lovely, and we found an amazing restaurant close by (Beehive) for dinner after a long day's drive from Santa Fe. Not to mention, the huge backyard was just what the doctor ordered for our fur baby to run and play. Perfect for our family after a long drive. We hope to stay again in the future!

What a great weekend. Wonderful location close to downtown yet 5 minutes from 3 colleges. Thanks for the restaurant recommendations. They were tasty. We are outdoor people so the backyard was perfect. Basketball goal, covered gazebo with ceiling fan and lights. Great space for a fun family weekend

We had 4 adults, a two year old and 2 pets with us. There was plenty of space for all of us. Not only was the house wonderful but the backyard was too! If we ever end up in the area again, we will be staying here!

We really enjoyed our stay at Oma's house on Orange. It is in an older part of Abilene but the house was charming. There were 5 adults staying. The stairs were a bit difficult for an older family member but everyone had plenty of room to spread out. We really enjoyed sitting around the dining room table and our dog loved the backyard. There were so many nice touches and we loved how everything was labeled and how clean the house was. One thing to note is there isn't a sitting room downstairs. We enjoyed hanging around at the kitchen table and the backyard but there wasn't really a living room to all be together inside. That wasn't an issue for us as we found other ways to be together and enjoyed the privacy of our rooms in the evenings. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. We were visiting at a family member at ACU and it was a quick commute to and from the campus. The central location made it easy to get around Abilene. Communication with the host was quick and we had zero problems. Would highly recommend.

This is an old restored beautiful home. It has old wood floors that give the property such a beautiful shine. Home has everything you need, from toothbrush, toothpaste, dental floss, coffee…. Etc. The area looks a little scary, old, unmaintained homes around property, however, we never felt unsafe. I would recommend this home to anyone looking for a nice, quiet stay. Lovely property and amazing communication.

The house is cute. The owners go above and beyond on amenities and directions. Immediate response when we had questions. Nice backyard. The only thing I would mention is location we did not feel safe in the neighborhood.
