About this house rental
The Islands is a luxury townhouse community located in the Mauna Lani Resort. With mature tropical landscaping & the low density in this community, The Islands is a quiet tropical oasis. D4 is an end townhouse with only one shared wall with an adjacent unit. The two primary bedroom’s ensuite bathrooms just completed a full remodel, while the remaining unit areas had a complete paint, design, & furniture refresh. This 2 bed, 2.5 bath townhouse is spacious and can accommodate up to 6 guests.

The Kitchen has updated countertops and is fully equipped for all your cooking needs. The private, newly refreshed built-in BBQ and outdoor dining table is the ideal spot for your nightly dinners.
There is fast Wifi throughout the unit if you need access for work or streaming your devices.
There is no need to pack all your baby travel gear. This unit has a pack and play, highchair, and baby safety gate for your use during your stay.
D4 has a detached 2-car garage where you can find all the beach gear to use, including bikes, chairs, umbrella, cooler, boogie boards, and sand toys.
Located Across from the D building is the community swimming pool with a hot tub and plenty of lounge and dining areas to spend a perfect pool day.
As guests, you have access to the Mauna Lani Beach Club, which is an ideal place for swimming, snorkeling, and overall beach day fun! Dine for lunch or dinner at the delicious open-aired restaurant Napua.

The Islands is located in the Mauna Lani Resort. It is a low-density townhouse community with a shared pool and hot area for owners and rental guests.
A rental car is best for getting around the island, but you can walk or ride a bike within the Mauna Lani Resort
This unit is walkable (or bikeable) to the nearby Mauna Lani Shops, with great restaurants (Tommy Bahamas), a grocery store (Foodland), and other shops. You can also visit the near by resorts and the variety of restaurants at The Fairmont Orchid and the Auberge Mauna Lani Resort.
All Guests are subject to pay all state and local taxes as required for the rental. These amounts may be subject to change per these government agencies.
Guests are subject to the rental agreement terms and any specific house rules outlined by the AOAO. After booking you will be required to e-sign the rental agreement through your guest portal.

This is a beautiful & well appointed unit. It was clean and nicely decorated. We loved having access to the Mauna Lani beach club! The condo is walking distance to a historic trail, and a very short drive to the Shops at Mauna Lani as well as the main resort. The kitchen appliances work well, and the newly renovated bathrooms are gorgeous. The property manager was kind and accommodating with our early check in and late check out requests.
The one thing I wish I’d known before booking is that the A/C only goes down to 74 degrees. The thermostat kept resetting to 78 degrees during the night, so a few times I would wake up from being too hot and have to turn it down. Other than that it was a perfect property for our 10 day stay!

This spacious decorated townhome was great for our family of 5. A comfortable daybed in an upstairs nook was a bonus sleeping area. We enjoyed using the grill on the private lanai. We especially loved the location in Mauna Lani nearby the trail to the fascinating fishponds with beautiful sunset viewing as well as access to the Mauna Lani beach club where you could swim and snorkel. Its general location in the Kohala coast made it close to great beaches, Waimea, and Hawi. The staff was great with check instructions and communication throughout our stay.

Probably time to replace the beds in second bedroom. When laid out as two twins they were very thin and poor quality. Combo lock for front gate was buggy the whole stay. Could add another comfortable chair in living room. The rest was fantastic. We appreciated the bike and beach gear in the garage. Would stay again for sure

We had a spectacular stay at this beautiful property. Upon entering we were in awe of the place. It has so much more room than we expected and was spotless. There was so much opportunity to spread out and not be under each others noses. We contacted the site manager a couple of times and got prompt responses. The manager even went out and got us a Brita filter for drinking water so we didn’t have to buy water in plastic bottles. The water from the faucet was fine but tasted high in chlorine.
The bedrooms and bathrooms were so comfortable. Our only feedback would be to put a chair in the other master bedroom.
There is lots of space outside to relax, and an outdoor grill that was really nice.
The bicycles were used and enjoyed. The landscaping was impressive. It is a short, beautiful bike ride to the ocean and lots of walking areas. I cannot say enough about our lodging experience in D4! Thank you.

What a great property this is! We were 2 couples, celebrating our recent empty nests. This property had 2 master suites, so we didn’t even have to rock, paper, scissors for the big room.
Property owners were great! Our flight landed before noon, but check in time wasn’t until 3:00. On a whim, I thought I would just give them a call to see if they had options for luggage storage, as we didn’t want to be driving all over the place with everything in the car. They were so, so accommodating and offered to let us store luggage in the garage until move in time. Also, I mentioned in passing that the hand brake on one of the bikes wasn’t working. Not a big deal, at all, since the back pedal brake was functional. They had it fixed the same day!
This rental has everything! 4 bikes, boogie boards, beach towels, outdoor grill, and a smattering of spices. There is outdoor seating on every single patio. It makes for a nice, quiet, relaxing vacation. Access to The Beach Club was easy. Local coffee, açaí bowls, groceries, etc were a short bike ride away.

This space had everything we wanted. Spacious, full of light, well-equipped and clean. It made it tempting just to stay in and relax and greatly increased our joy of being on the island. Well worth the drive and the beach club is a nice add-on.

Vacationed with one other couple - having two main bedrooms with their own baths was ideal. So much better than a hotel as the living area gave us space to hang out and coordinate our plans for the next day. The house was beautifully decorated, clean and very enjoyable to stay in. I highly recommend.

We are a family of 5 and the townhome was perfect!!! Beautiful in every way!! We will definitely be back!! Close drive to the private beach that is wonderful for snorkeling or just relaxing in the water. Love everything about this location and townhome!!

This property had more space than we realized! We took a short 20 minute walked to the beach every night to watch the sunset and the views from the balconys were beautiful.

Condo was located in the middle of many great locations and activities, but close to awesome beaches, (short diving distances). The condo was stocked with towels and boogie boards for the beach. Great snorkeling at the beach right at the resort village. Close access to a great pool for a night swim with the kids.

Wonderful stay! Quiet, close to everything we wanted, loved the birds, goats, and flowers. The artwork was exquisite. Loved having two master suites. Easy to give it a 5 rating!

Even with screaming winds in both directions during our stay, we could find a calm spot on the lanai. Very private, very nice. Comfortable, dense cushions on chaise lounges, nice towels for bath and beach. Netfilix even. The bathrooms were, well, straight out of a magazine. Enjoy.

This property in the Islands subdivision at Mauna Lani was perfect for our Hawaii getaway. The neighborhood is quiet with beautiful views. The home was a little bigger than we expected and worked well for our family of 5. I highly recommend staying here.

This was a fantastic stay! Check in and check out was a breeze. Communication with the house manager was great. The house was clean and had everything we needed for cooking beautiful meals. There were plenty of towels to use at the beach club and pool, the washing machine and dryer worked well, the air conditioning worked perfectly, basically everything about the house was fantastic! Our kids loved the beach/pool toys. We didn't use the two bikes in the garage because they were too big for out kids - it would be great to have one kids bike available, if possible.
Please keep in mind that this is a pretty quiet community, especially the pool area. I kept telling my kids to keep it down when we were at the pool, it was more of an "adult pool." We actually spent most of out time at the beach club, which was fantastic for snorkeling and playing in the calm ocean. My kids preferred the beach club (a quick 5 minute drive from the house) because there were other kids for them to run around with, they made lots of new friends on that beautiful beach.
My only suggestion would be maybe a small bag of coffee for guest arrivals - we had to drive to the shops the first morning to grab some, it would have been great to have a little available on that first day after a long flight.
We truly enjoyed our stay and hope to rent this property again in the future, it is a great find!

I absolutely loved staying here. It was so big and beautiful and we all felt so at home and comfortable. It was close to Makaewa beach which is a favorite of ours. The condo pool was wonderful as we swam in it each night and my son even learned to swim in it! The cave was really cool. Thanks for a great stay.
