About this villa rental
Built in 19th century and recently renovated, with external walls 80 cm thick and painted in pink, 3 terraces, beautifully planted with bougainvillea, roses and other flowering plants, and a magnificent view of the town and the sea.
Petali di rosa measures 150 square meters; the three terraces together measure more than 110 square meters.
Beside Petali di rosa is an accessible vegetable garden of almost 300 square meters, cultivated with seasonal vegetables (tomatoes, lettuce, potatoes, etc.); if available, you can get some of them free from the farmer; at the end of the vegetable garden there is a big fig tree.
A stairway of stone steps (typical of Positano) takes you to the Villa, starting from Viale Pasitea, the main street in Positano, and going up through the oldest part of Positano: ; there are 85 steps leading to the entrance of the villa.
Petali di rosa has vaulted ceilings and tile floors; part of the furnishing is antique; some pieces are very precious - consequently the Villa is not suitable for children under 12 years of age.
First floor.
The entrance takes you through onto a large panoramic terrace, part of which, shaded by a pergola, is suitable for dining with a wooden table seating 6/10 people.
Three large rooms have direct access to the terrace through glass doors and wooden shutters: a double bedroom, a living room with satellite TV and a fireplace, and a dining room for 6/8 people; from the terrace, through a glass door, you enter a large, fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher.
The double bedroom leads onto the bathroom and the dressing room.
The dining room has direct access to the kitchen, which in turn leads through a glass door onto a panoramic side terrace bordering the vegetable garden cultivated with seasonal vegetables; the terrace is suitable for dining with a wooden table seating 6/8 people.
A small room containing the boiler and the washing machine has direct access to the terrace.
Second floor.
An internal staircase leads you from the dining room to the second floor.
The second floor contains two large double bedrooms, with thick curtains, high capacity wardrobes, antique furniture, pictures and mirrors, as well as a large bathroom with shower.
Each double bedroom has direct access to a panoramic balcony above the large terrace below.
Access and distances.
A short walk down from the Villa takes you within a few minutes to shops, boutiques, bars and restaurants; in about 15 minutes you can walk to the town centre and in ten more minutes you arrive at the main beach Spiaggia Grande.
The nearest beach, Fornillo, is about 500 m from the Villa Petali di Rosa; it is possible to
walk along the coast from Fornillo to the main beach Spiaggia Grande (400 m).
Numerous ferries and hydrofoils travel daily from a small port on the right of the main beach to Capri, Amalfi and Salerno.
In Viale Pasitea, near the beginning of Via del Canovaccio there is the Mangialupini, bus-stop with a timetable pole for the little urban bus company running continuously around the town; they also run buses to Sorrento, Amalfi, Salerno, Napoli e Roma.
Car parks and scooter hire companies can be found in Viale Pasitea, 50 metres from Via del Canovaccio.

We just returned from five amazing days in Positano. The communication from start to finish was superb. There was always an immediate response to my many questions with Francesca, Simonetta and I can not forget, my new favorite Italian friend, Mrs. Daniela. She took extra time to explain everything to me!! She is wonderful!! The location is nice because the views are spectacular and there are great restaurants nearby. You can also walk to the main strip for shopping, beach and more great food!! This is a great villa for couples or a family.

Positano was our last stop in Italy and it was perfect! We had gorgeous views and plenty of space. Most of our evenings were grabbing a pizza at the nearby restaurant's and just enjoying the patio and the views!!
Definitely a lot of steps to get around Positano so my one suggestion is to stock up on food or wine and stay put!! This place has everything you need!

This house is perfect for a 6 person group. The views are incredible and the deck was our favorite part of the house. The bedrooms are simple but perfect for sleeping which is all we needed them for.
The owners of the house were quick to respond to any questions and helped us arrange a car transport departure. Would definitely stay here again!

We loved this home. Great views, beautiful balconies and one of the few with a/c. There are a significant number of steps to get in bit that is the case everywhere in Positano. We would stay again.

A good choice of restaurants nearby. Spacious rooms, large terrace. Quite small kitchen and bathrooms. Some misunderstandings with the contact person at arrival and during the stay but great help from Italian exclusive villa’s who sorted out. IEV also provided us with good recommendations for guides and drivers!

Absolutely stunning property with everything we needed for our stay. Yes the steps are not to be underestimated but the breathtaking view makes it all worth it. Memories to last a lifetime and what better place to celebrate my 50th birthday with my loved ones. Grazie :)

Positano is a dream -- and Petali di Rosa is so well worth it for groups of all sizes; extremely accommodating hosts, wonderful communication throughout the entire process, helping facilitate/arrange drivers and excursions whenever we requested. The view is second to none, and the rooms were amazingly spacious and well appointed. There is a bit of a hike up the stairs to the home, but no one did (or could!) complain, given how extraordinary the accommodations were. Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful villa. Francesca and Daniela were wonderful
With communication and accommodation as this was our first trip to Positano. The villa was spacious, clean, perfect location and the highlight of all of the places we stayed in Italy. Thanks so much for making this a special family vacation for us! John and Heidi

This is a great property. Not quite in town but right at key bus stop. Beautiful views of north Positano, a huge terrace, very comfortably sized for 2 couples, bedrooms a nice sized with great beds and linen, bathrooms and showers are very small. There is 87 steps from road to the house. Positano is all built on a cliff and this place is not at very top but its 2/3rds up.
The big problem is what was quoted in VRBO for weeks stay and what we were changed. Before leaving on our trip, I called VRBO, and wrote the property manager about the discrepancy. Nothing was done. Once we got to property and showed information, we were told what we were charged was correct. That was $700 more than the quote ($100 more/day). This did not make for a happy customer…VRBO never stepped in. Buyer beware!!!

Six of us stayed comfortably in this charming Italian villa. We loved the terrace where we started our day with coffee and tea and ended it with wine and cards. The views were lovely too. The bedrooms were large and everything was very clean. Our host arranged our transportation to and from Naples, which was extremely helpful! Communication was excellent as well. We loved our stay, thanks!

This vrbo was perfect and the views were breathtaking! Be prepared to climb some pretty steep steps to get there with your luggage, but the view once you open that gate is so worth it. I recommend this to anyone staying in Positano.

The property is large and spacious, with a great view of the verticality of Positano and the Mediterranean. The 80 or so steps up to the property are like many other places in this area - good for a minor cardio experience. Some minor items to fix, which were handled appropriately.

A remarkable property with beautiful verandas on both levels providing incredible views of the Amalfi Coast. We particularly enjoyed being able to see our property at various points around town, whether we were on the water, at the beach or just walking around exploring. Absolutely spectacular!

This villa in Positano was wonderful…..the view is tremendous and the house is very comfortable!! There is a huge balcony with seating and a dinner table…..it’s in a great location ….there are steps up to the place from the main road but that is everywhere in Positano……but the steps are worth the view from the place…Ms. Daniela who greeted us was very kind and helpful and the hosts were very helpful and responsive….they helped us get a shuttle back to the Naples train station….it was an amazing stay….

Wonderful Stay with a Beautiful View!
This property is as good as the pictures! We stayed for five days with our family of six, kids ages 17-24 and there was plenty of space for all of us. The highlights are the several balconies with beautiful views of Positano. Service was friendly, helpful and responsive. Kitchen is functional, bedrooms are large. Bathrooms and showers are a little tight and beds a little firm for us, but they wouldn't deter us from staying here again. We highly recommend it!

Wonderful Sty
This property is absolutely gorgeous. The photos do not do the view justice - it is even better in person. My family and I had a very comfortable stay with 7 adults and two kids. I would highly recommend this place to anyone traveling with a large group.

Positano Apartment
This place is something out of a dream. What ever you picture a villa overlooking the Italian coast this is it. It is spacious , very clean , plenty of room for our 7 people. Daniella the caretaker helped us with everything we asked, arranged transport, brought extra linens on request, allowed to keep our luggage there until our transport arrive( 2 hours after check out time) much appreciated!!! It is a perfect place!!!

What an amazing place!
It's better than the pictures, this place is amazing. The rooms are all huge and so much character. The terrace and view is unbelievable. Get ready for a lot of stairs though, don't underestimate just how many there are.

Beautiful Villa in Positano
We came as a group of 8 girls and the villa fit us all perfectly. The host, Francesca, was extremely responsive to my emails and helped in the logistics of getting to and from immensely. Also, the steps up to the villa aren’t the worst in the town! Short distance from restaurants, shops, etc. Highly recommend!

Great Location with Beautiful Views
Property has stunning views and offers great space and charm. Positano has several steps to reach most villas and this spot had a manageable 86 steps.

Great stay in Positano!
We all loved our stay in this beautiful property. The views were amazing from the very large balcony. There was a ton of space throughout the house giving everyone enough privacy if you are with a large group. We were only a 15 minute walk to either of the beaches. Great stay and would recommend to anyone that is thinking of going to Positano!

Great view-be prepared for a hike and lots of stairs!
First of all we enjoyed our time in positano-it’s fun, lively, great shopping, restaurants and beautiful beaches! We traveled in August with my daughter who’s pregnant and has 2 small children. The heat was oppressive and the stairs up to the apartment were too much for her. The location of the property was quite a hike up the hill so we had to use either an expensive shuttle or wait on the public bus. The day we moved in -the large room for a family was infested with ants-not just a few but thousands on every wall, in the closet, bathroom, etc. We cleaned and cleaned, scrubbed the walls, floors-but no relief. The host gave us ant spray when we checked in but didn’t realize she was serious! Since my daughter is pregnant and it was her room, we couldn’t use the spray. When we told the host about the problem they promptly came in and cleaned the room and treated with spray while we were away. So it was resolved. The apartment was comfortable for a family with 7 people-the patio was large with a fabulous view and great for morning coffee, relaxing on the lounges (although one lounge collapsed when my son sat in it). The garden was cute and fresh tomatoes and basil were a treat. We had the apartment cleaned twice during our stay of 5 nights which was great. Washing machine and line drying was convenient! Next time will probably stay closer to the beach.

Positonally in Love!!
What a perfect villa for our vacation! We had a group of 7 and it was more than enough space. It was furnished beautifully with Italian antiques! We can’t say enough about the terrace and the perfect view! It was the absolute authentic Italian experience! We even got pretty good at the stairs near the end of our stay! Very highly recommended!

Great space and gorgeous view!
Spent six nights here and would recommend this home for a group visit to Positano. We are three couples and enjoyed the large bedrooms (one downstairs and two upstairs) and two baths. The spacious patio outside looking over the town and sea was fantastic for meals, hanging out and soaking up the sun. We got lots of exercise walking up and down the stairs to the town (that you would have anywhere staying in Positano) so we could enjoy all the wonderful food and drink options Positano offers without guilt! Miss Daniella was so sweet, friendly and responsive. (She checked us in and out, was our main contact during our stay and cleaned our house twice during the six days). Francesca and Simonetta were so helpful in booking excursions for us and helping us switch around our itinerary (we had some unfortunate and uncharacteristically bad weather for May) and were very responsive. The villa was clean and well stocked. A great value in Positano!

Perfect Villa in Positano
The villa was wonderful!!! It had everything we needed and was perfectly located for us. It was above the busy buy hustle and bustle of down below and was quiet and tranquil. The views were stupendous!! There was a cafe right down below us that we went to every morning for coffee and light breakfast and it turned into a small bar in the evening. The furnishings in the villa were comfortable. The beds were great. Daniella, the person who met us and was the housekeeper was a wonderful woman who was very helpful. There were steps, but they were not as bad as we thought they were going to be. I am 57 and my husband is 61 and he has cancer and we managed with no problems. The hardest part is getting luggage up, but we had two younger people with us and that was their job. We all loved this place and would definitely stay there again!!

Fabulous views, spacious, comfortable. Delightful place.
This is a 3 bedroom two bathroom villa. It has breathtaking views from two balconies, and from a little courtyard off the kitchen and laundry. There are two double bedrooms upstairs with a separate bathroom and a master suite downstairs. There is a sitting room downstairs as well as a dining room and nicely equipped kitchen (strangely no kettle though). The downstairs balcony has a huge table and chairs, and plenty of sun beds. The view is uninterrupted and simply amazing. There were five of us and we loved every minute of our stay. The walk up from the village was worth every step and a great 15 minutes of exercise each way! We will be back.

Beautiful views and lots of steps!
There is no denying the charm and views from this villa. Looking out from the terrace is nothing short of spectacular. However, in order to get to this villa you must climb 87 steps. Up. If you are not in shape or struggle with exertion this is not the place for you. Getting heavy suitcases up the steps would be very hard for someone not ready for it. That said, once you are up there it is so worth it! The rooms are spacious and there are large doors that open from each room. Be careful, however, as there are no screens and the flies at the end of September were relentless and they bite. But again, the view and the breezes off the sea are gorgeous. The main terrace is large and has a big table with chairs where we spent most of our time when we were there. The kitchen in small, but decently equipped. We stopped in Sorrento on the way into town and stocked up, which was a good thing. Without a car, the closest local market had the necessities only and in searching for something to make for dinner one night we only found some packaged chicken breasts. There is no other selection for meats, but they sold some prepared foods. Just below the house around the corner was the Fornillo Grotto bus stop, where you can catch the bus to the beach, shops and restaurants in downtown Positano. There are a lot of restaurants within walking distance and we never had a bad meal. On the next street below the house there is a small convenience store that kept us in bottled water and wine. Finally, the house manager, Mrs. Daniela, is as sweet as can be but speaks virtually no English and we luckily had someone with us that spoke fairly well so we were able to communicate and get answers to questions we had. Overall, I would recommend the villa - it was a good value for the cost.
