Our stay at Alpaca lodges was just the most wonderful get away imaginable.
Michael and Sarah were fabulous hosts, unlike some on site owners, they were only seen when you needed a little fire wood or some more of those wonderful fresh eggs.
With privacy assured, the actual lodge in it's perfectly placed setting allowed us the tranquility we had wished, for a perfect week away.
The lodge is majestic in size, two large rooms, twin beds and an en suite double with ample space in the fantastic living area made it just perfect. All the mod cons, WiFi etc and a fully packed kitchen meant you could happily hunker down without need to go anywhere.
The lodge has a beautiful open balcony/terrace, east facing so we watched the moon over the valley whilst listening to the owls under the stars. In the morning, watched the sunrise as the plethora of wonderful birdlife came to feed at the little feeders perfectly placed around the lodge.
Even at -7, the massive wood burner heated the whole abode in no time, and I must admit to being guilty of throwing on an extra log or two, to watch the warm colours give a beautiful light across the room.
To top all this off, you have the on site Alpacas which we did a meet and greet with, along with a good half dozen or so horses and donkeys which would welcome you from their stables as you walked along the driveway.
In short, the perfect place for a small family or group of friends, super cozy, super clean, all the mod cons, perfectly private and bang in the heart of pretty little valley teeming with wildlife.
We wish Sarah and Michael all the luck in the world for all their hard work.
We will 100% be staying there again.

Lovely accommodation, very clean and comfortable. Beds extremely comfortable with 2 bathrooms, 1 en suite and again very clean.
The hosts left plenty of fresh eggs for us from the farm and lots of little essentials, such as tea, coffee, sugar and chocolate biscuits! Plenty of cleaning materials, toilet rolls etc. They thought of everything.....we didn't need to use most things as we bought our own with us but the eggs and biscuits were very much appreciated....thank you.Such a lovely, thoughtful touch.
Towels provided also.
The lodge is situated in its own private compound with the alpacas, horses, donkey and chickens very close by. Still a very quiet and tranquil stay! We spotted the little red squirrel on our last day eating food behind the back bedroom window!
We hope to go back to stay maybe when we get some better weather. Although it rained every day during our stay, it didn't spoil our 4 day break. Would highly recommend the Alpaca Lodge.

The property was a great base, from which we could explore the beautiful scenery of the Lake District.
