Food, location and overall service was great
We had to share the bathroom with another room, it was a bit akward

Great location - within walking distance to lake and primary area. Excellent breakfast. Great deck and facilities. Very friendly and helpful staff

Foto’s doen grotere / ruimere kamers vermoeden. Het is allemaal een beetje oud. Bijna nooit warm water uit de douche. Wc zit in de doucheruimte, was heel onhandig was als deze bezet was. Al met al niet echt heel comfortabel

Absolutely stunning location right on the lake. The most beautiful yoga studio and a great schedule of classes. The best yoga class I’ve ever done! Really delicious breakfast included. Very friendly staff. Nice chill vibe.
The bedding could have been a little nicer, it felt quite rough against the skin. But fair for the price.

right on the water. staff was helpful and the cafe was stocked with a few essentials as well.
next time I would upgrade to a private room… or one with fewer beds

We enjoyed our stay here. Simple affordable rooms and right on the lake. I loved the yoga platform and spending time on the dock by the lakeside.
The breakfast was big and tasty with lovely views from the cafe.
The staff was very friendly and helpful.
This place was perfect for our short stay in San Marcos.

Worst hostel I have stayed in. Super improvised buildings and rooms. Everything looks messy and is dirty. Food way below average and therefore, pricey. Look of the rooms bearly works, windows can't be closed but hostel recommends im their guest guide to lock everything due to safety reasons. Everything is super smelly even during yoga class a nice smell of toilet is around. Property is doing loud renovations during yoga and meditation class. Volunteers seem to run the whole thing, don't think that's the purpose of volunteering, this is unpaid labor. Toilet paper on shared bathrooms was out at 6pm and didn't get refilled until 9 am. Staff told be to never ever get a single drop if water in my mouth or eyes as people get super sick. I'm surprised the owner does not invest into filters to protect his guests and customers

Relaxed atmosphere, nice bar/restaurant area. Nice breakfast.
Room was cramped and you have to pay a deposit for the key and towels which can only be returned between 7am-10pm (zero flexibility from staff) which interfered with our plans (bus to Flores leaves at 5am)

The yoga and lake access were the highlights for me. The volunteers are all really cool and helpful. Things seem really busy for them so there could probably be a few more. The breakfast/food is really good.
Weird that you have to pay for water. There’s no fridge or kitchen access. The dorm was fine for one night but it not super comfortable and the lockers are tiny. Also I heard some other guests in the cafe openly saying disgusting things (not really the hostel’s fault).

Great spot right on the lake, awesome staff and overall a great spot to stay. Would recommend staying here.
I wish there was somewhere to cook some food, other than that everything was great.

The dining area upstairs has a very nice vibe, and the lakefront access/sitting area is a great bonus. The showers were some of the hottest I’ve had on my trip. Staff were all very friendly.
The dorms felt quite run down and there were lots of insects inside (scorpion, ants). During my stay there was quite a lot of construction going on in the property, but this should not normally be an issue.

Best breakfast, amazing staff, so helpful
There was no place to chill except the cafe.
As a hostel you should have a kitchen and a place where you can eat you own food. As you can eat food you have got from another place. The food there was awesome for sure but if you fancy something else then you would have to eat it sitting on your bed hahaha.
There was construction there when I was there so no common area and that is the only reason a booked this place was for the view of the lake from the common area hahaha. So would of been nice to have be offered something for the inconvenience.

Helpful staff, great breakfast option, hot showers. Great rooftop with nice view over the lake. Good location.
I was assigned to a bunk bed with no curtain, not ideal when in need of privacy, this should be repaired.

The room was comfortable with a nice bathroom and large windows and porch. it was close to the lake and has a beautiful yoga Chala with great teachers. Breakfast was great and the staff very helpful and friendly.

I booked a room for one night and I really liked it. It was simply and comfortably furnished, the bed was very comfy with a warm blanket 😃 Nice shower and mosquito nets on all windows and the terrace door 😃 The staff was super helpful and nice, I felt very welcome and cared for. I loved the breakfast. Thanks a lot!

so wonderful. great location, great staff, food, dock, all of it! if you get a chance to catch Stefanie (one of the staff) at an open mic night - not to be missed. highly recommend staying at Del Lago

Restaurant + Yoga Space
Loud + Not the nicest dorms - there’s better hostels in San Marcos

The volunteers were super welcoming and friendly from the moment I arrived. A really nice bunch of people who invited me for days out and really made me feel part of the group. I extended my stay by four nights as soon as I arrived, the photographs on booking.com do not at all do the place justice. The yoga deck, located on site is the most wonderful place to do yoga and has classes on throughout the day for only 50q. The free breakfast is amazing and you can choose from 4 different options which is so great when you are staying for a longer period. The dorm room is clean and comfortable but just make sure you bring ear plugs for the noise of the vehicles and dogs but with ear plugs I slept very well for the 8 nights I stayed. The cafe/bar and rooftop terrace is an amazing place to hang out and the food available is very delicious and not too expensive. The Dock at the bottom of the hostel is a great place to enjoy the sun and the lake, swimming in the lake is such a delight as long as you keep your mouth shut. The Dock is also a great place to watch the sunrise in the morning and to watch fuego errupting from a far. Also, the trivia night on a Thursday was super fun!
Thank you for thr perfect stay ❤️
Couldn't find any mirrors 😢 and I think it would be nice if the hostel managers invested in some eco filters so that the guests didn't have to pay for water.

Staff is really nice, you feel like home. People talk to each other. Beautiful place for yoga, on the Lake, breakfast is really good. I think it's a Little pricy for what you have. Near central but not too near. I appreciate, but it's not my favorite place, I would probably stay There again.
Even if it's clean, it looks dirty. Sheets are old and you can see throught. They clean the bathroom everyday, it's good but everything is old. There was ants and spiders in the Room all the time. Even the towel are old and don't look clean. Beds are hard, sheet directly on the matress and so thin that you feel like you are sleeping directly on the matress. It was cold in the night and not sure they wash the warmer blanket.

The atmosphere at this hostel is supernice: friendly and open and caring. The food is nice and varied as well. The view from above - combination of lake and vulcanoes please - is still pretty magical as well. But the best is the yoga platform offering early morning yoga courses with the lake glittering in the sun right behind.
Too bad that the reception moved to a building way more up (away from the lake), deconnecting the bungalows with the lake.

The location was pretty good, with a nice deck overlooking the lake and volcanoes. Some of the volunteering girls were very polite and tried their best to help. We were lucky and had the free sauna day (once per week). Nice chilling area in the cafe, TV with sport shows if you are interested in that. The premises overall look a bit unmaintained and abandoned.
The private rooms were pretty basic and small and definetely overprized. The shared bathroom was between 4 bedrooms (which could host up to 3 people each) meaning frequently occupied and quite dirty conditions.
The yoga classes and sauna are not included in the price of the room, something that is not clearly indicated in the booking.
Some of the breakfast (which is included) options were decent, in some cases the portions were small. And as the devil hides in details, come on dudes, we are in Guatemala, DONT OFFER INSTANT NESCAFE COFFEE!!!

yoga every morning, beautiful setting, hot showers, nice staff (mostly)
no kitchen and not allowed to bring any of your own food in.

Location on the lake is amazing. Comfortable beds. Good breakfast
On website it says there is a shared kitchen. There is not and there is no way to boil hot water for making your own coffee and tea early in the morning. Also they make you pay to fill your water bottle!!!! That should just be included, trying to suck every last quetzal out of you…

This was a great base while in San Marcos. The yoga platform and lake shore deck were amazing spots to enjoy the lake from during the day. The cafe area was a good chill out spot for the evening with a varied menu and enough space to be social or enjoy your own company. The brownies are very nice!

Nice hostel at a good location. There's a goos vibe in the bar part and good food for a nice price. The property it quite spacious, it stretches all the way down to the lake where there are the beautiful yoga deck, a place to chill by the lake and a sauna. If you prefer to eat by the water you can always just go next door.
The dorm I was in was a bit outdated and very close to the road, but I don't think all of them are. When I was there they were building, which gave quite some noice, but by the water it was fine and the new addition seemed quite nice!

The view , yoga shala and location were the best and close to everywhere in San Marcos. I enjoyed during the days at dock. Volunteers are very helpfull
Bathrooms are too far to shared room, beds are not comfortable , they don't have kitchen for guests only restaurant is available . They close there at 10:00 p.m after that hours nothing to do it ! was quite boring

Comfortable rooms, very good breakfast with an amazing view, super cool sauna and yoga area with semi-private access to the lake (nice for swimming), the people and staff there are all very friendly and talk fluent English
The showers worked, but were not the cleanest

The location is amazing, right on the lake with their own pier. Amazing yoga space and lots of classes on offer for a good price. the restaurant had really nice food and a nice space to hang out. The showers were hot and had enough space to change which is rare. really nice breakfast
The property is half finished and lots of construction all day long. literally right in the restaurant and next to the yoga space/common space making relaxing pretty hard. hopefully they will finish soon but for now its noisey

Big cool complex on the lake with a yoga studio and sauna. I imagine the private rooms were very nice to stay in.
The dorm I stayed in was right next to the road which was very loud and bright.
