The hotel exceeded our expectations. It was surrounded by beautiful grounds where there was an outdoor pool and lovely, comfy looking four-poster outdoor beds that looked very inviting. Had the weather been a bit warmer I would have happily passed some time on one. The indoor pool was beautiful and serene, perfect for a dip and then a lounge by the pool after. They also had a sauna which I used on a few occasions which really made me feel relaxed. The food was excellent. They served the best breakfast I have ever had in a hotel and I have stayed in a few very grand hotels. It was table service, not buffet, and every breakfast started with fresh fruit and juices and a hot drink or two. The staff were exceptional and very friendly. Always accommodating. I hope to go back later in the year!

Large open spaces. we had a spacious room with great views
Very quiet. We were the only guests in the whole hotel. Dinner was great from a gourmet point of view but waiter lacked attention to detail. Feels like they want to get your cash at every opportunity. E 2 per coffee pod in the room is just bad judgment.

amazing staff and the service was excellent too.
our room was beautiful.
The parking was a considerable distance away considering the steep hill we had to climb each time we went out.

it’s a beautiful property. Serene and very clean and very close to Luz which is adorable. We really liked the rooms - spacious, comfortable and elegantly designed.
Given the price point and the 5-star rating, we’d expect ‘more from the stay.’ In particular the staff isn’t terribly warm/welcoming or enthusiastic about helping. things seemed to be a big deal (eg. my boyfriend wanted to grab a cup of coffee to bring back to the room to enjoy on our patio but they wouldn’t give it to him unless he sat down for breakfast)
Also. the pool is in a really weird spot in front of the hotel and you need to walk through the parking lot to get to it.

The staff were amazing - very professional and so friendly

The location is nowhere, means that you can stay in peace and quiet. Each room has its own deckchairs that can be used to relax, enjoying some sun, if lucky.
The place has a generous parking space.
The breakfast was good enough, and dinner was acceptable.
The service was really poor, definitively not 5 stars. The inner swimming pool was really cold and the spa area (sauna) was off. The common areas were really cold overall, probably there was some energy saving, because the hotel was pretty empty when we stayed there.
The gardener was cutting the grass all day long, and every single day, disturbing a lot our permanency.
Prices at the hotel are super expensive, such as dinner. Better to eat somewhere else, the food is much better, as well as the service!
Booking prices were higher than the prices offered at the place, so better to book through them directly, or at least check it before booking.

Location was brilliant, 6 minute drive to the local beach and a 10 minute drive to Lagos. The surrounds of the hotel were beautiful!! Breakfast was lovely, lots of different choice and plenty to eat!! The staff were so lovely and very thoughtful, they noticed it was my fiancé’s birthday and brought out champagne and cake at breakfast!
The walk way down the slope was very slippery, slipped a couple of times but other than that, nothing to improve on!

Beautiful place, lovely staff. Nice pool area.
A couple of small touches would make this place perfect - coffee in the rooms being most notable (and maybe two choices of tea). Also the toilet light goes straight into the bedroom at night so maybe full height doors when you come to replace those.

Nice surroundings, great variety at breakfast, the rooms are quite big.
The dinner is worth trying at least once because the dishes are quite unusual.
The pillows were uncomfortable and there was no coffee maker or even coffee in the room(which is standard for a 4/5* hotel).
Some of the staff working in the morning hours were quite bothered every time we ordered something to the pool or to the room and when we ordered some ice we were even asked what it is for… not at all a 5* hotel

Efficient. Clean.
Beautiful house, lovely furniture, wall
Art. Rooms spacious, quiet, comfortable, lovely soft bed, nice terrace in front of room with beautiful views. The grounds are lovely and it is all very private, tranquil, peaceful.
Nice and super efficient, hard working ladies; one runs the morning shift, Carla, the other the late shift, Renate. Both work incredibly hard, and perform every role in the hotel, particularly Renate who does dinner service too.
Needs soul!
Pool too cold at 20 degrees; it’s fresh but not used. Needs to be raised by 5 degrees to make it useable.
Lacks warmth and atmosphere; It needs a bit more ‘you’re on holiday so let your hair down’, rather than the library atmosphere. Make a lounge/drinks area for people to gather and chatter and bring some soul to the place!
Also, personally, I would change the dinner menu or add the option for a more relaxed and less fussy standard eg tapas menu, rather than have to pre-order at reception. Otherwise, if you want tapas and a great atmosphere get your trainers on and do a 2 km walk to Boatys/ZuZu on the sea front, for wonderful tapas/Asian infusion and atmosphere.

The grounds & location were stunning. The interior of the hotel was immaculate.
Pool was lovely how it was set away from the main building.
Breakfast outside was serene.
I liked the complimentary port decanter on arrival night.
Our superior room wasn’t as “superior” as we’d hoped. On arrival the coffee machine didn’t work so was replaced. The TV didn’t work so was fixed. The phone didn’t work so was replaced! The rug was stained & the twin beds pushed together kept separating!
At just under £300 a night, I don’t expect to be charged 2E per coffee pod in my room. No kettle or tea making facilities in room.
The sun beds & cushions around the pool weren’t cleaned or washed down & were too stained for my liking.
1 of the days there was no water to the poolside toilet or washbasin.
