About this villa rental
The Piaggione of Serravalle, at a glance, appears as a gem naturally cast on the highest ridges of the Chianti hills of Central Tuscany, and as a jewel it shines with its authentic flavors, ancient traditions and silent stillness.
Shaded and enclosed by oak woods and shrouded by the greenery of its olive trees and vineyards, it mingles within the horizons of the grandeur of the Tuscan countryside that is still genuine and remarkably unspoiled. The structure of Piaggione consists of two spacious apartments, one with four, the other, three bedrooms and a separate two bedroom cottage. Among these, the Loggia, which houses a wellness center embellished by an exotic touch. On the top floor of a spa tub and an infrared sauna, and accessing via a staircase, you will approach a somewhat hidden room used for massages and turkish baths on the bottom floor.
At Piaggione of Serravalle you will discover The Loggia, a small wellness paradise. Created from the predilection of the family for aesthetics, health and body care, La Loggia, with its large windows, treasures the most precious secrets for a complete physical and mental relaxation. You can let yourself go under soothing hot water or 37 ° C of the indoor hot tub. Alternatively, you can be enveloped by the warm therapeutic infrared sauna, until it reaches the adjustable temperatures up to 65 ° C. In between sessions, you can relax on our ergonomic lounge chairs, underneath the beautiful orchids and tropical plants. Descending the stone steps from La Loggia you will access the hammam area, inspired by the most renowned spas of the Etruscans and the Romans, and a room entirely dedicated to the art of massage, with a comfortable shower and the glittering mosaics of the Turkish bath. The steam bath along with the chromotherapy and aromatherapy, as well as being beneficial to the skin and respiratory system, contributes to the proper relaxation of the mind and body.
The Loggia del Piaggione has a very unique feature: it's a spa area that we let on request so that you can enjoy it privately in the company of friends or family.
We offer the following treatments
Hot tub with Jacuzzi 36/37 ° C: Being within the panoramic Loggia, it's always available with cooler outside temperatures or at nighttime: you will be immersed in nature and protected by the large panoramic windows and can be comfortably used by four people, .
Infrared Sauna: Very beneficial for your body, but without the side effects of a traditional sauna, the operating temperature ranges from 45 to 60 ° C and can be used by everyone.
Turkish Bath: The Turkish bath is a steam bath at 35-38 ° C. The ambiance decorated with mosaics is equipped with all comforts, a chromotherapy light, a small fountain to refresh your wrists and your face and a hand shower to cool the lower limbs. Ten minutes are required for your skin and the respiratory tracts to gain great benefit, then, before repeating the session we recommend a warm shower. During or after the treatment you can relax in the lodge or in the small garden reserved for wellness from where you can comfortably access the pool area outside.
Massage:
In the wellness area is a comfortable lounge for massages that will favor your complete relaxation.
On appointment, a specialist will be at your disposal to provide you with a massage: ayurveda, relaxation, reflexology etc. If you want to take advantage of these treatments, we recommend contacting us before arrival.
On the outside you are welcomed by a splendid swimming pool that plunges down the lush valleys and, between sprouts of fragrant shrubs, built in the rocks, a jacuzzi tub that is surmounted by a spurt of hot water. Small paths and stone steps cut into the gardens that slope down the valley, designing silent hidden nooks that make its way through the forests. In this enchanting setting, stand out the modern sculptures of famous Alberto Inglesi artist who will accompany your quaint countryside strolls and hikes. If your desire is to rediscover the spontaneousness of life, the Piaggione of Serravalle is the place to be, to relax and immerse yourself in the magnificence of a Tuscan setting blessed by serenity and silence.
The Piaggione of Serravalle is a lively farm that is in constant action and that brings forth its daily activities that are carried out in order to achieve a balance of eco-friendly status that is rational and respectful of the rules that prevail in nature and that characterizes its existence in every detail. Plants and animals, placed at the center of activities, have always been treated like human beings and therefore have the best care and attention to undergo the strictest quality controls that strive for excellence as well as for superb genuineness. The seasonal cycle of activities, therefore, commences in spring with the most suitable positioning of the plants, sowing the seeds and the maintenance of gardens, vineyards and olive groves. During the summer we proceed mainly with the picking of fruits and vegetables, and then we begin to feed the food for the winter and start collecting the wood for the colder months. Autumn, however, is the most busy period since we deal first with the grape harvest and later with the olive picking. We also start all the various processes for the production of wine and oil, the squeezing and pressing and we also collect the wild fruits from our forests, traditionally considered to be one of the bases that characterize our local cuisine. During the winter, with the arrival of the frosts we end our labors but we also have to start preparing the land for the new year to come and we have time to devote ourselves to more domestic chores. Of course we always have our farm animals to look after. The food processing is challenging and goes hand in hand with the local tradition, to sustain the authenticity of ancient flavors and discover new ones, thus giving the opportunity to gourmet fanatics to acquire the most authentic recipes, the methods of cultivation and preservation. The culinary skills of Camilla, combined with the hard work of Alberto, will allow you to take advantage of the exquisite cold meats, salamis, bruschette and cheeses produced on the farm and we will be honored to prepare you memorable full course meals with traditional dishes , accompanied by Chianti DOC and DOP Extra Virgin Olive Oil; all obviously of our own produce and of course our products can be purchased directly on the farm. Camilla also offers its services as a professional tour guide, organizing trips and excursions all over Siena and its territory and enriching them with detailed descriptions and explanations. Albert, instead, offers his own experience and skills in the arts by offering sculpture and painting classes. Among the various projects under construction, Piaggione will be able to offer cooking classes as well as organizing educational strolls along the paths of the vegetable gardens. Also at a stone throw from Piaggione has recently been established a horseback riding center with a full range of activities related to equestrian trekking through the ancient roads of the Chianti hills.

Camilla’s villa provided the perfect introduction to Tuscany for our children and grandchildren. The views are spectacular, the pools are relaxing, and day trips to nearby cities are easy to arrange. Camilla’s tour in Siena is not to be missed, nor are her amazing dinners. She responded to every request quickly, and made recommendations and reservations for our group of fifteen. We will miss her charm and humor. Highly recommend!

It was wonderful!

Camilla has created a real gem with a very grand proportioned home which felt intimate and peaceful. We had both apartments which linked together created a lot of discs for our 2 families with 4 young active boys.
The setting was simply stunning and I haven’t experienced that much peace for a long time.
Highly recommended

Camilla is very attentive and helpful. Beautiful setting among the Tuscany hills. Spectacular views. Great welcoming meal, many things close by to visit. Florence, Siena, many small towns. Had a great time. WiFi very spotty but would very highly recommend as over all experience was perfect

Our family of 10 spent time in this beautiful home being together, and utilizing the pool and spa. Our host Camilla entertained us during the delicious welcome meal with stories of her experiences leading tour groups. We had such a wonderful time in Italy and the Tuscan hillside and experiencing the views. We made lots of great memories with our children and 4 grandsons.

We enjoyed a week long stay in the picturesque town of Vagliagli. The house was located on a winding, rough road, and I would advise an SUV or similar. We had an Audi A5 and it was too low to the ground for that type of terrain. All roads to local towns were gravel, so be prepared.
We are Americans, and very used to our comfort of air conditioning. The lack of AC was the hardest part to adjust to for us as it was very hot this summer. Regardless, we acclimated fine. The property itself is stunning. The pool was a great retreat, and the on-site herbs and fruit trees were amazing. We hired Camilla to be our tour guide in Siena, and I can’t rave about her enough. She’s a Siena born woman who spoke with great passion about the city. She took us on a walking tour of the Duomo and location of Palio. She assisted us at every step, and even secured our taxi back to Florence to catch our return flight home.
We visited Castellina regularly, and it’s only 15 minutes away. They have a much larger market for groceries and very friendly restaurant owners who treated us like family every time they saw us. We drove to the Prada Outlet, and made several stops at local vineyards to sample wine & olive oil.
Definitely take Camilla up on her offer to stock the fridge and take the trash out. Local rules are very different from what we were used to, and she saved us a lot of time and effort figuring that out.
I highly recommend using the outdoor grill for steaks and ambiance. The cooking class on-site was incredible. I could go on for days about that.
Overall, our experience was fantastic and we have all agreed we will return to this charming agriturismo for years to come!

We had a magical stay with out extended family of 16 - grandparents to grandkids (all adults). The location was great - easy day trips to Sienna, Florence, Volterra and Montepulciano - but you do want a car. The house was well-equipped and Camilla, the host, was terrific. We had exceptionally nice weather and used the pool more than we thought we would. Plenty of space to be together as a group and also to get some privacy if needed. We would love to go back!

Camilla is the consummate host. If you plan to visit Tuscany, you cannot do better than staying at her lovely home. Amidst olive trees, grapevines, you will share a beautiful home with views of the hillsides, and with a luxurious bonus spa- hot tub, turkish spa, sauna, pool.
We cannot recommend more highly that you insist on Camilla taking you on a personal tour of Siena, her home,
Pizza night is equally fabulous, and you will enjoy each and every type of pizza they prepare for your group.
We were 12 friends, staying for a week, and became friends with Camilla and her family. We will be back!

We celebrate a very important birthday and the entire 14 family members flew in from long distances. The entire (almost) a week was magical. The house is gorgeous, all the rooms are decorated very nicely, comfortable beds, 2-3 full kitchens, lots of toilets and bathrooms and lots of space for everyone.
The location is abit in middle of vilages / no where, but same time 15 min to one hour drive to most of the locations. Camilla was super friendly and effective before and during the stay. She also prepared for us a full dinner in the day we all landed and that was amazing experience. It is our 4th time in Italy and we rented house many times, but this time it was speciel. We will be happy to come again in another opportunity.

We spent two wonderful weeks at the farmhouse, the first with extended family (including 5 grown children with their boyfriends/girlfriends) and the second week with 5 couples. Everyone raved about the house and we became quite attached to Skunk the dog. Camilla is a delightful host and excellent tour guide, with passion and lots of humor. We had several dinners at the house that she cooked, which were wonderful, especially with the view. We enjoyed walking into Vagliagli every morning for coffee and pastries and enjoyed several dinners at the restaurant there. We had one long luxurious lunch at Devoile winery. We also ate 3 times Caccio e Pepe which also excellent with the owner coming out of the kitchen to visit with us. It was a perfect location to create wonderful memories that we will be talking about for years to come.

A lovely farmhouse with breathtaking views and the most charming owners. Getting to the villa is a bit of an off road experience, but it is doable with normal cars. The house is rustic and has its own character. If you are looking for an authentic experience, this is it - if you prefer 5 star hotel luxury, this may not be your perfect choice.
We were 16 adults, and enjoyed every second of our stay. All rooms are slightly different and some are smaller than others, so we decided to draw lots for them. A few rooms are with double beds, some with twin beds.
Pool is a nice size, but it is not heated, whereas the jacuzzi is. Pool has a fantastic view over the surrounding countryside. Spa environment is pretty unique.
Meals provided by Camilla and Alberto left nothing to wish for, and especially the pizza party was something we definitely recommend. The welcome dinner is a good idea if everybody is travelling that day - a great way to start your stay.
Plenty of wine available, produced by the owners, and it is of a pretty good quality if you like the Chianti/Sangiovese type of wine. They also produce great olive oil.
Camilla speaks good English and can provide a really informative and entertaining guided tour of Siena - highly recommended. The owners actually live on site, so they are available for any questions and support needed.

Incredibly scenic, calm and relaxing location to get away. Location is perfect for chilling at the pool and soaking in the breathtaking views or taking day-trips to Siena (half hour), Florence (1 hour), Pisa (1.5 hours), Livorno beaches (about 2 hours). Alberto met us the first night and made us homemade pasta which was to die for. His sculpture / artwork was all over the house and grounds which is also wonderful. The pizza party was the best pizza we've ever had and was so much fun. Alberto started getting the wood fire hot four hours prior to the dinner and he and Camilla made sure everyone was happy as they served us countless types of slices. They even went very out of their way to accommodate a family member with a lactose allergy and two daughters that are vegetarian. If you like animals, you can visit their chicken coop that also has turkey and ducks, but best of all are a bunch of the sweetest cats that will come by your villa to say hello and their dog that will come by for some attention. We rented the entire main villa. Others have commented that the owners are on the property. They do, in fact, live in an area attached to the villa but we did not find them imposing on any level. There is also a smaller cottage that was rented out to another nice German family. They also shared access to the pool but we barely saw them and when we did it was very nice. In fact, we ended up choosing to all have dinner together for the pizza night. It's probably not the right place for a rowdy group, but for our family (my wife and myself, three teenage daughters, my parents and a family friend) looking to relax, enjoy local cuisine and cook a bit at the villa, relax by the pool, drink wine on one of the several incredible verandas overlooking the mountains and vineyards... we thought it was perfect! Oh... and Alberto's Chianti Classico is incredible. His 8 Euro bottle tastes like a $500 bottle in the US.

Staying at Camilla's place was a highlight of our three-week trip to Italy for our family of four. The apartment was very large, with everything we needed. We loved spending time on the huge terrace, with amazing views of the hillside. The pool and hot tub were amazing. Our hosts, Camilla and Alberto, were amazing. It's very private and off the main road but it was very easy to go into Siena and elsewhere in the area. Highly recommend.

Came over with family and friends for a 60th birthday celebration.
Camilla, Alberto and Ghia helped make our visit even more wonderful, with their helpfulness, plus excellent food and wine.
The Pizza Party was the best. Pizza and wine til we burst.
The location is perfect. Off the beaten track, but within easy reach of Siena, Castellina in Chianti, Radda in Chianti and San Gimiganno. Florence less than an hour away as well. So peaceful. The scenery from the top deck and poolside took your breath away.
Lovely old house and grounds with some eye-opening Alberto sculptures.
We had the most wonderful time.
