From start to finish it was picture perfect and quintessentially Provencale. When you drive over the bridge into the village of Valensole and this stunning property greets you, horses roaming in the fields below and beautifully manicured gardens, you instantly relax and feel at home. Monsieur and Madame greet you with a welcoming smile and are clearly incredibly proud of their wonderful chambres d'hôtes steeped in history. We stayed in the Louis suite on the top floor with terrace and incredible views over the local village and Provence countryside and feels like you have gone back in time. If ever in the area this is a must stay, we will be back.

We loved our stay at the Chateau. Jacques and his wife were incredibly accommodating and wonderful hosts. They gave us tips on what to do, where to eat, and even some history on the property and the town. We enjoyed ourselves greatly!
The breakfast was lovely and served in the formal dining room with other guests. Jacques played his daughter’s CD (professional celloist) while we ate.
It’s an old home with antiques in it. So don’t go expecting modern features and amenities like a television. It’s got old-world charm which makes it so special!

- very friendly staff taking time for you individually to explain the history of the chateau and things you can do in this area
- you feel taken back in time due to the interior of the chateau
- beautiful garden
- there was a very good fan in the room so we were not too warm
- the surrounding village is very cute and has a lot of different shops, restaurants and a boulagerie
- the breakfast could have more variety (esp.when you have some intolerances)

Everything was absolutely amazing! We particularly enjoyed our spacious suite with its grand Terrasse and amazing views. Beds were super comfortable and breakfast was good. The historical character of the Château is one of a kind and probably the best place we ever stayed in!! Highly recommend!
Be aware that there is no airconditioning, which could make nights quite hot during summer. Also, we would‘ve enjoyed to have our beds made every day.

The owner of the property was very welcoming. He showed us around the historic and charming house and explained the history and also recommended a lovely restaurant for dinner. Breakfast was lovely.
It was particularly hot weather during our stay in early July and our room on the third floor was stifling hot. There were only 2 small windows, which we had to keep open for some airflow, which also let in flies and bees. Moreover, the neighbors in the house next door played music very loudly under one of those open windows until 2am. It made for an uncomfortable night's stay. I would recommend that visitors in high summer make sure that they stay on the lower floor or in a room with a fan.

Unique property with an atmosphere of history. Very warm welcome and an exceptional, home-made breakfast. A short stroll into the village for dinner.
No lift but fair enough given the style of the property.

17th century heritage chateau. Work in progress but delightfully atmospheric. The owners have been working on the heritage building for 20 years without detracting from its intrinsic sense of history. Excellent breakfast - real taste of Provence

Overall a good stay at the chateau. Property grounds are very pretty with nice landscaping, a rose garden, and nearby fields with horses roaming. It was a relaxing place to return to after long days out exploring. As a group of three, we stayed in the top floor suite which was very spacious and well decorated. We loved the views from all our windows and sitting on the private balcony to read in the morning. Perfect location if you’re in the area to see the Valensole lavender & sunflower fields.
Not the most comfortable sleeping experience in either of our beds. We did need to keep windows open at night for air flow since there is no AC (we also had heavy wind which woke us up at night). Don’t expect the same level of hospitality / service as you would at a hotel - staff was alright but we had much better experiences at similar family-owned properties elsewhere in France. There is no formal reception/front desk, so be aware of the ranges of appropriate arrival and departure times so you don’t bother the staff.

The serenity and calmness of the place. Breakfast in a beautiful room with peaceful view onto the garden. When we arrived the hosts granddaughter was playing piano in some room. This made the whole atmosphere and place feel like out of this world.
