This is a larger apartment that can accommodate several families. It is off a very safe, secured courtyard. The location is fabulous and in walking distance to many activities and restaurants. The host Eduard was very responsive to inquiries and helpful. Compared to a lot of vrbo rentals, this well well equipped with toilet paper, trash bags and towels. The refrigerator, washer and dryer and coffee maker were nice to have. There are two main issues to consider. The apartment overall has a very mildewy smell. There was mold in some of the bathrooms but particularly the bedroom with the star shaped mirror. The smell in that bedroom and the downstairs basement room was so bad they could not be slept in. Despite this we had plenty of room. One person wound up sleeping on the couch. Eduard did offer to send over the cleaning person with something to cover up the smell, however we declined as this problem extended far beyond covering up the scent. Be aware in hotter months there is no central air conditioning. There is only one portable air conditioning unit that helped, but it quickly fills up with water condensation in 1-2 hours and shuts off till you empty it and then it will restart. There were extra fans on hand that helped but the back bedrooms without windows to open remain stuffy/hot. The beds are a decent size but could use updated mattresses. Bathrooms are adequate and be aware they are on the smaller size.

This apartment is in a perfect location, close to the action, but away from the noise. Plenty of room to allow our party of 9 to have space to escape when needed and large enough common space for us to dine together.
Easy walking distance to several Metro stations for easy access to all of Paris. Variety of ethnic and local food options within 5 minutes walk. I absolutely would stay here again!!

Was in a very good location for shops and restaurants. Close to major attractions. A few of the ammenties could be improved. Some of the electrical outlets were loose. The in house air conditioner did not have a means to properly vent. The property was clean and more than met our needs.

The home was perfectly located. A short walk to the Seine and the Le Centre Pomidou. For 6 women, we felt safe in the area, a couple of us even felt safe enough to venture out on our own. I sprained my ankle pretty bad the 2nd day there and Ed was quick to offer information on what hospital was the closest to get checked out. And he followed up with me to see how i was doing. So nice. The place was perfectly cleaned and had all the amenities needed for a long stay. I would definitely recommend staying here for a large group or family. This place was perfect.

Eduarde was so helpful with us checking into this property as we had arrived in paris after 36hours of travelling. The house was all warm and cosy for us, which was so welcoming. We loved this apartment so much and the 5 of us were so comfortable. This apartment could provide accommodation for twice that many people all in comfort. Great locality for all the sights, metro, supermarkets. Apartment was fully stocked with everything you needed for a carefree stay. Plus the history ofvthis house is amazing and for Australians, whose countrynis so young, staying in a part of history of Paris, was so extremely special. Thank you so so much Eduard, so grateful to have stayed in your beautiful property. 💗

We had a fabulous NYE holiday in this apartment. There were 10 of us total - 4 adults, 3 teenagers, and 3 small children - and there was plenty of room (and bathrooms) for all of us. The teens especially liked the basement area to escape for the evening. The large dining table is a huge plus since we could cook/order in for a few evenings. The location is great; several metro stops close made it easy to get around the city. Eduard was super responsive and ensured we had a lovely family holiday.

This is a great clean property inside of a locked and secure courtyard. All but one of the bedrooms and bathrooms are on the level you enter; there is one bedroom and bath in the basement down a flight of stairs. All was perfect for our party of 6 adults, 2 teenagers and 2 children. There is a washer/dryer in the apartment but we didn't use it. The instructions for gaining access to the apartment were easy. The housekeeper met us on arrival and adjusted the heating. There are not many properties in Paris that can accommodate 3 families totaling 10 in one apartment. We didn't have any issues with the apartment but we did contact Eduard because of a dental issue and he gave us a recommendation with telephone number. The neighborhood couldn't be better! Marais is known for restaurants and we walked to dinner most nights. We didn't use the subways for longer trips because the G7car service was very responsive and not overly priced. We look forward to using this property again!

Group of 5 couples all in early 60s, all seasoned self catering renters. Location was central and so major attractions & transport very easy. Three bedrooms have windows onto the courtyard and the night noise & 2 are internal have no windows & are very stuffy . But The property needed maintainance. One bed in room 3 was broken ( missing slats) , electric sockets coming out the wall and main door blind broken. On second of four nights we found broken glass - we cleared it up and reported it and above issues to Ed the owner. He became very defensive re the problems and even suggested we were not being honest . On night 3 ( Saturday night ) a party was in full swing in the courtyard until 3am . There was also a mouse in the apartment . I sent him an audio file of the noise & let him know re the rodent but got no response .
So think carefully before booking this apartment - it might be central but it’s not trouble free and our experience was of a defensive unhelpful owner.

This apartment is in a wonderful location. Restaurants, markets, shopping and city transit are abundant. And for tourist sites further afield you are in a place where it is easy to get the metro or ride share, etc. We fell in love with the Marais. The apartment is spacious, is equipped for a large group, and the owner is super responsive and accessible. Our kids loved the escalators at The Pompidou Center which is your next door neighbor practically. The only caution is that we found the neighbors super sensitive to noise. Musical parties and playing in the courtyard are not allowed (reasonable expectations). We did neither. We did have, however, a two year old and 4 year old with us who play with a certain gusto. We warranted a visit from a “neighbor”, we were reported to the owner and had a noise message taped to our door the next morning. Without A/C it’s hard to not have the windows open. Simply a cautious tale not a reason to not rent this great apartment for a large group. We recommend it.

Property is in a desirable neighborhood- quiet and close to everything.! Accommodated our family of 8 comfortably as it has 5 bedrooms with 4 bathrooms.
The property manager (owner?) gave us the necessary information days prior to our stay, and responsive to our questions.

The position of accommodation in the heart of Paris was great, being close to metros, shops, restaurants and tourist attractions. It was suitable for 3 families of 10 people. The issues were the age of the accommodation with some uncomfortable beds needing to be replaced and some bathrooms requiring improvements. These matters were mentioned to the owner of the property.

Our extended family, ranging in age from 15-85, enjoyed staying in the Marais. The location was perfect, allowing us to access local sites on foot or by taxi with ease and to enjoy the abundance of restaurants and shops in the surrounding area.

This spacious apartment is located on a quiet street in a neighborhood full of life and everything one could want or need within walking distance. A lovely neighborhood market with fresh ground coffee, meat, cheeses, wine and more. A supermarket 5 minutes away. Metro 8 minute walk. We were four women over 60 so the first floor access was ideal - and the building was gated with a quiet courtyard. We knew months ahead when booking we could drop off our luggage in the morning prior to check in which was a huge bonus. Comfortable beds and charming old world building with stone walls cobblestone walks. The oldest building in Paris (1411) is across the street. Note - there are four bedrooms that have doors one can close, three with windows that can open. One bedroom has no windows but is SUPER quiet because of that. A fifth bedroom on the first floor is an alcove with a curtain door - more suited for children or teens. We didn’t go downstairs but I bet kids would love it. The bathrooms are classic European - quickly but plenty of hot water! We enjoyed our week long stay and feeling very Parisian enjoying a classic Paris neighborhood.

Pro: We were 7, 2 teens and 5 adults. Plenty of beds/baths for all. Spacious central kitchen/dining/living room as seen in the photo. The maid was helpful explaining appliances, locks, heating, etc. Grocery stores and eateries are near. On a historic street, near transportation.
Con:Two of the seven nights we stayed, loud parties echoed throughout the courtyard until the wee hours of the morning, disrupting sleep.

We spent 4 days in Paris at the end of October, travelling with our children and friends. The apartment is vaste and well equipped in a bustling and lively part of Paris, within walking distance of just about everything and situated in a courtyard that blocks out all noise. We slept like logs.
Ed was an attentive and accommodating host. The only slight glitch was the authentic French plumbing that struggled in a couple of the showers, but that was only minor.
If the apartment is available don’t hesitate to book it.

This quirky, eclectic and spacious apartment was ideal for my family of 7. It’s located within walking distance of the Seine and Notre-Dame and in an area filled with restaurants and local shops. Being old there were minor issues with bathrooms. The property manager always replied to emails immediately and was helpful.

Really fantastic property - highly recommend for larger groups as the kitchen table and living space were fantastic for dinners, card games and activities, and the entrance is off a small community courtyard that was nice and quiet. Central location that was an easy walk from bus and train stations, including the RER to CDG and DisneyParis! The host was super responsive and check in process was easy. Really great property!

For our month long family trip to Paris, this apartment was an exceptional value.
1. Size/location/price: Eleven of us (5 beds five baths) in the heart of the Marais in a quiet ground floor apartment off a private courtyard.. For the price this cannot be beat.
2. Helpful hosts: As in all these older Paris apts there were a few minor maintenance issues which Joel took care of immediately. It was very hot in Paris in July while we were there and Joel Provided three additional electric fans. Because of it’s location in the building the apt stayed relatively cool. Joel also helped immensely when a few in our party came down with covid. He rented us a small studio apt in the same building, on the fly, for a few days so we had a place for the covid people to isolate. This was a life saver, and I can’t thank Joel enough.
I highly recommend this apartment.

The place was what we were expecting. Plenty of room for us and nice to be able to all eat together. It was nice that almost every room has it's own bathroom. Lots of restaurants nearby and grocery stores. Only minor inconvenience is the distance to the metro. It's walkable but not super close.

We had an extended group of 8 family members meaning we didn’t have a lot of people who could share beds, but this flat was perfect for us with essentially 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms and in a fabulous location in the heart of Paris! The one living room area was plenty big for all of us to hang out in and the table sat all of us with no trouble. The kitchen had everything we needed although the counter space was a bit short. We were so close to so much (the boulangerie is only two doors down!) and we walked everywhere but also since the flat is off a courtyard behind locked doors at the street, there were no noise issues. It was wonderful and we felt more like we lived in Paris instead of feeling like visiting tourists.

My friends and I had an amazing stay at this property for a week! Not only was it centrally located--with lots of entertainment, restaurants, bars around--but it was very close to Centre Pompidou, and definitely walking distance to Hotel-de-Ville and the Seine! The apartment had great facilities, lots of room, airy, light and very comfortable! We cooked and dined in a couple of nights, relaxed, and had a great time. Also the apartment was nicely equipped: internet, washer dryer, dishwasher, good-sized fridge and plenty of other amenities. I'd highly recommend anyone with a family or group of friends stay here! I would definitely be back!

It appears that COURTYARD HOUSE MARAIS 5 is the only place that could accommodate our large group (4.5 couples = 9 people) in Paris. Thus, it was a very big plus. However, the place was not maintained well. We found at least: one of the bathroom sliding doors inside a bedroom was not operable, one bedroom door knob was loosed (we fixed it temporary ourselves), non-functioning light bulbs on a chandelier in the dinning area, and a shower that did not drain well. Also, the toilet in the hallway is quite tight that a large person's knee caps might hit against the door. That said, the location is excellent, quiet, and secured. The place was well stocked with coffee which we much appreciated. The owner/manager was very responsive in our inquiries. Bottom line: if you need a place for a large group, COURTYARD HOUSE MARAIS 5 may be a good choice.

Beautifully located near the heart of the Marais. Joel was very easy to deal with...good communication; allowed us to leave our bags after checking out. Great dining table easily accommodates 10.

This property fit our needs and then some. Multiple bedrooms and bathrooms which other properties did not have. Close to restaurants, bakeries and the sights of Paris. We would have liked another fan or two, the back bedroom was rather stuffy for sleeping. And the WiFi was weak if that is important. But these are minor issues and we were out for most of stay enjoying Paris. I would come back to stay again and highly recommend this property!
