About this chalet rental
Bear Track Lodge (1369 South Baden Drive, Gatlinburg, TN) is an 8 bedroom, 5 bath chalet at 3,000 feet on Ski Mountain in Gatlinburg's Chalet Village. This convenient location just off Ski Mountain Road is 3.0 miles down the mountain to shopping, dining and attractions in downtown Gatlinburg and 0.5 miles up to Ober Gatlinburg Ski Resort, an all season resort. The chalet is within walking distance to Chalet Village Owner's Club which offers guest privileges to the large swimming pool, tennis courts and game room (closed in winter). The Owner's Club is also a staging point for the available 5 minute shuttle ride to Ober Gatlinburg for downhill skiing, snow tubing and ice skating in winter months when parking at the resort is at a premium.
The chalet's 'roundabout' style is great for group gatherings with a large stone wood burning fireplace being the focal point in the center of the main level. The living area around the fireplace includes a 52 inch TV, sofa, 3 reclining chairs and 5 theater-style chairs on a raised platform for lots of available seating. Also on the main level is a full kitchen, dining area (table with seating for 12), bar (seating for 4), pool table, 1 bedroom (King) and 1.5 baths. The bedroom has a 32" flat screen TV. The kitchen has stainless appliances, a large pantry and 2 full size refrigerator/freezers with through the door water and ice for plenty of food storage for your large group. Ground floor parking just a few steps away makes for easy in and out to the chalet.
Upstairs is a total of 7 bedrooms, comprised of 3 kings, 3 queens and 1 bedroom with two twin beds with washer/dryer closet, in addition to 4 baths. Each upstairs bedroom has a 32 inch flat screen TV. All upstairs bedrooms, except the twin bedroom, have access to the wraparound deck. One of the bathrooms is private, while the remaining others are each shared between two bedrooms with separate access for privacy ("Jack and Jill" style).
The chalet is fully furnished with bath and bed linens and utensils, in addition to starter packs of dishwasher detergent, laundry detergent and soap/shampoo/conditioner. Outside on ground level is a six person hot tub, oversize picnic table, rocking chairs, charcoal grill and large supply of firewood. The upstairs deck is expansive, has a number of rocking chairs, and can be accessed directly from 6 of the 7 upstairs bedrooms. Central heat and air, high capacity water heater, high speed internet, wireless internet, cable and landline phone service ensure a comfortable and convenient stay. There is ample parking for 5-6 vehicles, and with two connecting driveways providing access to separate streets, fewer in and out hassles than usual with multiple cars and large groups. The chalet has a mountain/wooded view in an area of mature trees. We are five minutes away from the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, 5-10 minutes from Gatlinburg, and 15-20 minutes from Pigeon Forge.
We are pet friendly, and may charge an additional fee in certain circumstances. No smoking is allowed inside the chalet.

Really liked the property will stay again next year

House was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the use of the hot tub and having access to the swimming pool. Only complaint would be the numerous bears roaming around the house. At first it was fun to see them but then we realized they were everywhere. After using the grill I made sure to clean it but a bear still flipped it over. After that I stopped using the grill. I had some anxiety taking out the trash and then a big bear broke the lock off the trash can. We were warned about lock our cars to keep the bears out. They did try to get in our cars but doors were locked. We enjoyed our stay and I would return. Location was convenient to gatlinburg, pigeon forge, and the Smokey mountains. Just be prepared for the bear visits.

We had a wonderful stay! The layout was perfect! Will definitely come back! Lots of room.

We had a leak with one of the bathrooms, the owner responded quickly. Convenient location, driveway is a little, but easily accessed.

House was great for large group. Very well stocked, having two friges and coffee pots was a plus was a little difficult for motorcycles, driveway is step. Bathrooms are a little tight upstairs. Overall this house was great for a large group, our guys enjoyed the pool table. Saw several bears. Saw a Momma bear and cubs. Several times we were sitting outside and the bears just walked up behind us..This house is designed so cool and really is great for larger groups. If you need cell service dont expect much of that, unless you walk up the driveway and you might get lucky!☺️

My family had a great time staying at this property. Our ages were from 5 to 54. We had plenty of room for our group of 13. The young adults enjoyed the pool table and gathering in the living room to watch the tv. The kitchen was well stocked for anyone wanting to cook meals. The roads were typical mountain roads but not too bad. We did see bears almost every day at the house. So I would advise keeping your doors locked. One bear even used the picnic table to jump onto the hood of my son-in-law’s truck. We didn’t use the hot tub. I would definitely book the property again.

We had a great stay in this lovely home with such a unique layout. Plenty of room for everyone to sit & visit & eat. Lots of bear visits which were the highlight of the trip (besides my dads 80th birthday of course!). Some of the "toilet rooms" were a little tight for those of us that are bigger. :-) We missed a "mountain view" but being nestled in the trees was lovely too. You really can't beat the proximity to Ober Gatlinburg, the Smokies and the main strip. The Park Inn is a great place to eat, with a free parking lot and keeps you out of the sometimes extremely busy strip.

We rented this home with our children (24-33) and grandchildren (6-10) and we had an amazing time. The house was spacious enough for 15 of us and very clean. Mike is very responsive and easy to communicate with. I’ve rented many vacation homes and this is by far the best one. Hoping to come back next year and this is where we def want to stay again, the location is great. And oh, the views getting there are just beautiful. We saw lots of bear as well which was a huge hit with the grandkids.

We had 3 generations staying in the chalet, all adults. Bedding was clean and comfortable. They used duvet covers which was nice. Communication with the owner was excellent, he responded quickly whenever I messaged him. The chalet is up narrow mountain roads, and you will see bears around the chalet and the driveway. Some of our group loved this and some did not.The chalet was a short drive to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Some of our group used the hot tub and said it was in great shape and very clean. Our group of 12 appreciated all the bedrooms and bathrooms and the large dining table for eating and playing board games. Overall I felt this was a great cabin for the price, especially if your focus is on getting enough bedrooms for a large group.

LOCATION: The house is on a scenic mountain road, close to Gatlinburg. You do NOT need 4 wheel drive to access…
This home handles14 people with ease. The host provides large pots and pans, coffee pots and two refrigerators. The stadium seating works great for movie night. The large table is perfect for game night and large group dining. The host is responsive. The app was not working, so I reached out via text and the host responded within 5 minutes.

Everything was great. We’ve been here twice. It was affordable and relatively close to everything. We like to get away with family once or twice a year. Had a blast.
Watch out of bear! We had them opening car doors!

The chalet was exactly as advertised. Like most homes in Gatlinburg, the roads leading to the chalet are not for the faint of heart. Unfortunately, the area experienced some stormy weather with severely strong winds during our stay. Of course this was in no way the owners fault. We lost power on the day of our daughter's wedding and it stayed off till late evening. One lesson this taught us is to always pack flashlights whenever we go anywhere in the future. All in all it still was a wonderful weekend. Our daughter is married and we were able to see extended family members that we don't get to see often. The owner was very kind when I called to ask if the home had a generator. (It didn't, but I doubt many other rental homes did either....we were just hoping as we all were longing for a nice warm shower after a day filled with celebration.) This home and owner are wonderful and we would definitely consider staying again.

The space was clean, spacious and perfect for our large family and the octagon setup of bedrooms was very unique. The hosts were awesome and reached out to us with weather concerns and were always a phone calls away.

Amazing time as always in Gatlinburg for the rocky top football tournament. Cabin was perfect for our group, wifi went out Friday night and the host contacted me back first thing Saturday morning with instructions to fix and all was well again. Definitely recommend this property to anyone wanting a large house close to everything in Gatlinburg.

The pictures don't do this property justice...the outside IS sort of nice but nondescript, but the inside is GORGEOUS! We had a large group and were particularly impressed with the number of bedrooms and bathrooms, which allowed for privacy, but also impressed with the ability for socialization with an ample living and dining area. The kitchen was well equipped for a large group with two refrigerators and multiple coffeemakers of different types.

This is our second time staying at this cabin. The outside of the cabin is okay but the inside is really nice and very clean. I got the food out of my car and I thought I hit the lock button but evidently I hit the unlock and the next day my car door was wide open and a Sun Drop bottle that was left in the car was smashed almost flat on the ground. We did see a bear down the road from the cabin. I would definitely stay again.

This is a great house for a big group - lots of beds / big kitchen and dining room. The Hot Tub was clean and functional which was great. Will stay here again when we head back to Gatlinburg

Our week here on the property was nothing short of phenomenal! We had amazing communication with Mike, the owner, the house was in great shape upon arrival, we were a few minutes from Downtown Gatlinburg and we had a family of bears visit us several times a day, every day during our stay. It was truly one of the most memorable trips to date & we cannot wait to plan the next trip! I HIGHLY recommend this property!!!

House was nice, clean and comfortable for our group. Ample space for everyone to park and sleep. We got to see some bears around the house and the area which was really neat! Everything was great!

We enjoyed our stay so much. The house was perfect. We saw bear and turkeys everywhere

Our group of 13 arrived at a chalet that had been recently (and thoroughly) cleaned with the air conditioner running at a comfortable temperature. We were delighted to find the chalet equipped with toilet tissue, paper towels, soap, shampoo, conditioner etc. The furniture, appliances and kitchen equipment were all in excellent condition. There was adequate seating , cookware, dinnerware, silverware etc. for a party of 16. The owner was congenial and provided excellent communication. We definitely recommend the chalet and would be pleased to stay there again. Five stars in every category.

House was great, clean and peaceful. Only downfall for us was the driveway was pretty steep for the motorcycles, but we definitely enjoyed our stay.

We all enjoyed the stay here. We took advantage of the balcony off each bedroom with the rocking chairs. We used the barbecue which was great and made all our meals with a kitchen that had everything we needed and a great dining area. One surprise was how much my grandchildren enjoyed the pool table.
The only drawback was driving up in the mountain was a little scary with one lane each way (narrow) and no guardrails but loved the views.

There was plenty of room for all 16 of us. The property was well maintained and the layout worked well. I would definitely stay there again.

The chalet has everything you could possibly need during your stay. We seen bears everyday during our stay. Thank goodness our car doors were locked because they tried getting in to 2 of our cars. We had a group of 14 and there was plenty of seating and room for everyone!! Would stay here again!

We enjoyed the cabin very much. The owner was very nice and we were able to contact him with a couple of problems and he fixed it promptly.

Everyone loved the house! We had ages 1-90 with us. We pulled right up to the door with no steps and my mom who walks with a cane walked right in, had a room and bathroom on the main level. Plenty of room for 14 of us to enjoy. The amount of bathrooms and bedrooms was great! We did enjoy seeing a bear!

The chalet was perfect for our group. The building has an unusual shape--it's cylindrical. We loved the theater-style seating in the living room, and the huge dining room table that managed to accommodate all of us (10 adults and 3 teenagers. The water system must be on a tankless water system because the temperature was hot within seconds, and never ran out of hot water with all the people taking showers at the same time. We did not use the hot tub, but it was good to have it readily available. We enjoyed the upstairs balcony and its huge sitting area. We caught a view of a bear, but it did not bother us. The driveway to North Baden is convenient to exit the place, but it is not for entering--it was too steep.
In all, we will gladly book again for our group.

This was my first rental on VRBO. The check-in process was easy, and the property was amazing. There was plenty of space and great amenities. Mike was friendly and very quick to answer any questions.
It was great for our family vacation. There were Christmas decorations and a tree too which made our holiday even easier and better! Everyone loved the pool table and some even made use of the hot tub even though it was freezing outside! The kitchen was fully stocked with numerous dishes, pots, pans, and utensils, even lots serving ware, which was a pleasant surprise! The two fridges really came in handy too since there were so many of us.
I will say that the drive up the mountain is 'exhilarating'! lol (Especially if you choose the 'bypass' route, which we only did once!)
We would stay here again and recommend this beautiful home!

We take a family trip every year to Gatlinburg. This year we had a larger than normal group. House was very clean, location was awesome.. far enough to get away from it all but still close enough for those who wanted to do the tourist thing. House had everything you need for a long weekend. We even had a mama bear and her cubs come visit the first 2 days. Without a doubt would stay here again
