We enjoyed staying here . Very clean and close to beach and downtown area. Property manager was easily accessible and very nice. Would stay here again!

This property should not be a rental. Old, filthy dirty, cob webs, and so much more! Don’t have a Vrbo when clearly your neighbors do not want it there in the neighborhood. Received notes on the door about our dogs barking. Dogs barking next door and across the street constantly…..duplex next door has a couch in the backyard with a pop up camper. Called me and told me not to park on the grass and I wasn’t even at the house. Extremely disappointed!

This house is in a good location, the property is very dated, not clean to our standards. Smelled very old and musty and we found mouse droppings in one of the beds. We called the host and she offered to come and clean, but We ended up leaving right after check in. The host communication was excellent and she kindly refunded our money. Luckily we were able to find another place to stay.

It was dirty and old

The house had everything we needed. The air conditioner units needed to be installed. The problem was my husband and I were not physically able to install them. I called Vickie the owner of the house and she came over and fixed the air conditioners for us. I thought that was very nice.

Quiet cute little place. Big enough for me and my boyfriend to have a weekend getaway. It’s not an updated property but everything works and was clean. Neighborhood is quiet and just a quick road trip to the beach around the corner.

The cottage is perfect for a small group in town for a short stay. Walking distance to many shops, Restaurants, etc. I would stay here again in the future.

We had a great time. Worked well for a last minute trip out of town and South Haven is of course amazing.

Disappointing, Disgusting, and Dangerous!!!! Walking up to the front door there was a musty smell; it was stronger inside the condo. Have no idea what the smell was in the kitchen. Floors were sticky and table was dirty. Railing on second floor was unstable; stairs were uneven making them dangerous especially for little ones. Fans and air purifiers all over. Definitely not homey and welcoming place to stay. Not a place I would recommend.

The house is comfortable and Homey! We had everything we needed for cooking meals at the house. Was very pleased to find plenty of toilet paper and towels. The rental is a duplex and the back yard is not fenced in. We had a very relaxing time at the house. It is close to everything.

The cleanliness of this place was unacceptable. Location is directly behind a Fast food parking lot, but Quick walk to charming downtown. Booked for 3 nights. Only stayed after 1 night. Very hot upstairs where bedrooms were. Michigan basement laundry. Spider filled and musty smelling. The odor permeated through the whole lower level of home. It is a duplex, but never heard neighbors. The yard had glass all around table and neighbors yard was junk filled. Property owner was a fast communicator, and responded positively when I requested compensation. Stairs to bedrooms are difficult to navigate so if you have young children or travelers with physical limitations, you may want to consider this.

This rental is conveniently located to town. It’s nothing fancy but it would be a nice place to stay if you just need a place to crash after a day on the beach. When renting it I had no idea it was a duplex. We went to south haven for a wedding and brought our dogs along with us. I never would have rented this knowing that we had neighbors right next door. Our dogs being nervous in a new place unfortunately barked at the noises next door while we were out at the rehearsal dinner and wedding. Frustrating for us. Frustrating for the neighbors. Could have been avoided if the listing was more accurate. We were very disappointed- if you have dogs reconsider because you will hear your neighbors (and so will they!). Speaking of noises, we got to listen to animals/rodents scurrying in the ceiling or walls at night.... not the most relaxing way to unwind. Also, no hot water. If you’re staying here plan for get clean by jumping in the lake because our water never warmed up past luke warm at best. The backyard has nice setup and is pretty quiet. However, there is broken glass out there. I tried to pick up the pieces but I’m sure there’s more. Be cautious and wear shoes- and again maybe not the most dog friendly location because of this. Overall the house was pretty clean, except for a dirty sock I found on the edge of the master bed. This weekend was not relaxing, if anything it was stressful. It was mostly due to the fact that we had no idea we would have neighbors in a duplex. May be a good option for some people, but was not for us.

The home owner was wonderful. She literally couldn't have been more accommodating. Home was stocked with anything we could've possibly needed. Beautiful neighborhood close to the water and restaurants. If you're looking for modern finishes and updates, this probably isnt for you. The home is old and has loads of charm. Very comfortable. Very clean. We are a family of 4 and it had plenty of space for us. It's worth mentioning that the only bathroom is on the second floor and the steps in the the house are rather steep. If you have toddlers or older family, this may not be for you. Our 6 year old got familiar with the steps pretty quickly and she had no issues navigating them whatsoever. You can enjoy home cooked meals in a very adequate kitchen and dining area. We were actually there on business so after the work day was over, we enjoyed our time right there in the house for the majority of our stay. Washer and dryer in the basement works great. For our trip, it was perfect. We really appreciate Vicky sharing her property with us making us feel at home away from home.

Vicki made our booking experience very easy and she was pleasantly responsive to our inquiries. The home was clean and NOT full of spiders, as commented in prior reviews. The location was great, as most of our exploring was within a 10-minute drive. My friends and I enjoyed our stay very much and would definitely rent here again.

Spacious and homey

Once we cleaned the place, we enjoyed our stay. It is a quiet location and close to everything.

Very accommodating! We had 3 adults and 3 kids, in this townhouse style rental. This home is spacious and offers a variety of sleep options! We hit a different beach everyday, grilled on the outdoor gas grill, cooked blueberry pancakes on the griddle (after picking). It has a full kitchen with all the appliances you need, including a Keurig machine, a variety of k-cups, a nice big dinning room, and the kids played video games on the living room TV. Newly remodeled bathroom with lots of towels also includes a washer and dryer!

Although the hone is older it had everything we needed for a great long weekend at the beach. North Beach is just down the road and it beautiful! The house is also close to trails and downtown. The home was well stocked with towels, linens and everything thing else you might need. The stairs are older and a little narrow, which was fine for us but might be difficult for those with knee or mobility issues. Overall the place was great for a family get away!

I was thrilled to have found an affordable rental at the last minute a few minutes' drive from the public beaches of South Haven. The location is not sufficiently to the beach or downtown to realistically walk and haul gear/children, but we knew that going in and managed well. The house was secure and easy to find, in a quiet, pleasant, residential neighborhood. Vicki's responses to my inquiries were clear, quick, and much appreciated. The house has all the basic amenities that a family would need for a long weekend at the beach, including a washer and dryer, dishes, utensils, and a large kitchen table that was the perfect home base for us. Nighttime temps were cool, and sleeping with fans and an upstairs window AC unit was comfortable. The grill out back, part of a well-situated patio area, did the trick for cooking a nice steak once my husband cleaned it. If you are looking for an affordable place to eat, sleep, and store belongings, this rental is just fine. The beds were nicely made, and there were plenty of blankets, pillows, and towels. That being said, the house was filthy. There were plenty of cleaning supplies, which my husband used to make the place liveable. We counted no fewer than 50 bugs inside, mostly spiders, on the ceilings, in the bathroom, everywhere. The cobwebs and dirt on the floors, walls, and virtually every surface were clearly visible. Structurally, there were some issues with the house as well. The upstairs floor, reached by climbing a set of crooked, too-tall-for-code stairs, appears to be sinking. I didn't venture into the basement, but my husband reported that the toilet appears to be draining into it directly. With a little investment into maintenance and upkeep, this could be a nice place to vacation.

Place was great for what we wanted over the weekend. We definitely were a bit surprised as it wasn't cleaned up better (My wife swept and mopped the floor immediately when we got there) but OVERALL it was a great fit for us to be able to hit the beach all weekend long. Had a great 4th of July

We stayed in this home for 4 days and 3 nights. The location is pretty good With about a mile or less walk to the downtown area/pier/Beach. The inside is a little bit dated but still Comfortable in Space and living. The Check in was easy as well. The only problem I had was it was not very clean. There was a lot of spiders, spider webs and dust. The backyard was not clean as well and we had to clean the tables and chairs. Owner was very accessible and easy to communicate.

We had a great time, the location is perfect. The grill and fire ring got tons of use, and were much appreciated. It's such a wonderful area, the food downtown is incredible, and the beaches were great. The owner was very sweet and made our stay extra easy. Everything was close enough to us that we could walk our baby in a stroller for lunch or the beach. The house is older, but it's cute and the location is wonderful.

When we first checked in, it wasn't what we expected, but we thought we could adjust, we did some cleaning in the kitchen and made it work, the stairs to the bedrooms/bathroom were not for someone who had arthritic lower extremities/back problems, or respiratory problem. The shower head was broken which was fixed in a timely manor, but either the shower or sink had a severe leak, and we had to keep towels on the floor and even then the water leaked through to the basement, resulting in enough water to cover the floor in certain areas of the basement. The shower/sink drains in the bathroom were extremely slow, making then next to impossible to use, the owner advised, and said there plungers available. The cupboard doors were falling off the cupboards in the kitchen. The slider that opened to the back yard was either not square or the track was so dirty or both, making it extremely difficult to open, we were fearful to open the screen for fear we would damage it. We used the front door to go to the back yard. The yard that we had to use to get to the back yard was covered w/ broken glass, tree roots, and pine cones, making it a safety issue, for tripping and cutting your feet., The only 1 burner of the 3 burner grill would light, and we had to take the grill apart to get that to light. Needless to say we either cooked in or ate out. The screens didn't fit the windows so we couldn't open them, thus unable to rid the house of the musty odor of the wet basement. The bearings were going out of the dryer resulting in the dryer making a very loud noise, owner notified, stated it still works. The owner advised us when she came to fix the shower that she was bringing a prospective renter to show the house, which we thought was inappropriate. The owner did allow us to check in a day early without additional fee and told us we could stay another day without additional feel fee. We feel we should have a refund of our money.
