Cottage has great potential. Needs just a few finishing touches, but
perfectly adequate for our needs on this visit/stay in Pine Plains, NY.

There was a clear mold/mildew smell and issue, most noticeable in the back windowless bedroom with attached unvented bathroom. My daughter has asthma and actually had attacks repeatedly while we were there. One thing that is not shared in the description is that the groundskeeper has an apartment which is attached to the cabin and crosses over the cabin property repeatedly during our stay. The internet did not work the entirety of our weeklong stay. The shower backed up every time it was used. I’m not sure what the main house is like, but it was clear that guests in the cabin are secondary to guests in the main house. I am not high maintenance and only expect cleanliness and courteous hosting. I would never stay here again.

Great place! Antoinette was a great host, she responded immediately to any and all questions we had, and the home is very cozy and well appointed. The lake and property are a beautiful place to wake up. Hope to stay again.

The property needs some minor updating and a deep cleaning. But location and all is wonderful. Well deff come back again.

Peace and quiet on a beautiful lake! Loved every minute- the paddle boat to the floating dock, the most generous firewood delivery, a washer/dryer.
Thank you!

My friend and I enjoyed our quiet time at the cottage. We were there during an off season time in October so no one was in the large main house near by that is actually on the lake. The cottage is off to the side and one must walk through the other property to get to the lake and boats and bicycles that are shared with others. That was not an issue for us since we were the only ones there. The cottage has everything you need (even fresh eggs) including a tv with access to all the streaming channels. There are many many places to hike and antique shop and lakes to paddle and fish near by.
My only complaint would be that one of the bedrooms is located in the interior of the house so no window. It would help if the fan was able to run while sleeping without the ceiling lights on. Otherwise a beautiful area to explore.

Having access to lake with canoe, kayaks, fishing poles, bikes was fantastic! However the “rustic” cottage was a little lacking even considering “rustic”. Not one smoke detector and the 2nd bedroom has NO window, the kitchen had sufficient plates, but not bowls or table utensils. The big kitchen problem was lack of cooking pots or the disgusting conditions of the ones available. With a small investment in a set of pots & utensils the experience would dramatically improve. You can run out and buy paper & plastic as a guest and that is not too bad- but dishes & cooking utensils?! No wine/bottle openet either- we bought & contributed to next guest. We also had to buy an additional fan. With just a little TLC & attention to daily needs it would be absolutely fantastic, Would consider again if owner addressed some of these.

Antoinette was so kind and helpful with all of my questions. Because no one was in the main house during my stay, I was able to sit on the Adirondack chairs for hours and stare at the lake every day of my stay. It was peaceful and lovely! And there is even a nice hike to Thompson Pond within walking distance of the house! Lots of nearby towns that have beautiful hiking and plenty of things to do outdoors. And great farm stands all over the place!

The location, amenities, and services were superb. We enjoyed the charming property, taking advantage of all the activities available, especially the swimming and hiking. We visited the very charming surrounding towns and restaurants. We also dined at the house on the porch taking in the breathtaking view and romantic setting. Would highly recommend for your next vacation.
