We were very fine with the accommodation. Looks exactly like on photos. Nikos is an attentive host. Villa Gioia is lovingly and tastefully furnished. It is located perfectly to explore the hole island what is worth it. The local bakery and supermarket is nearby. Its a short drive to Alykes beach.

A large house with a beautiful garden to enjoy and relax. The closest beach may be reached in five minutes drive.
Nikos is very helpful with good suggestions on restaurants and beaches.

Christine and Nikos have beautifully and stylishly renovated their property to a high standard both inside and out. I can honestly say the photos don't do it justice.
The garden is a wonderful, lush oasis that is hard to leave! Backing onto farmland with oak trees in a peaceful location, occasionally punctuated by sounds from the chickens and cockerel.
Great air con too for a cool night's sleep!
The comfortable sitting and dining room is massive and the kitchen has every appliance you could possibly need.
Nikos welcomed us in and kindly gave us some goodies in the fridge. We walked to the local bakery in the village in about 5 minutes so you can get lovely fresh bread for the morning.
The local supermarket (just by the bakery) has everything you could need including fresh produce, but I'd recommend a trip to one of the larger supermarkets for fresh meat and cheese, and extra fresh fruit/veg.
The only thing I would suggest to be updated is to add a wall attachment for the shower head so you can stand under it rather than hold it.
I'd have no hesitation recommending this property and its lovely hosts to anyone going to Zakynthos who would like to stay somewhere away from the crowds yet only a short drive to restaurants or the coast. It really is an oasis...

This is probably one of the most charming apartments you will find on the island. It is exceptionally well decorated and it is clearly evident that the owners are both very fashionable and savvy. If it wasn't for the lovely garden on most days you would probably never want to go outside. If you are a design afficionado or are looking for something truly original and charming you will love this apartment. If you are after convenience and proximity to the beach you will likely be a little disappointed. The location is not the most convenient but if you have a car then the charm of the apartment may likely make up for it.
The owner was very easy to deal with and quite responsive to some small problems we had encountered. The apartment is relatively well furnished, however if you love to cook you maybe a little bit disappointed as the kitchen is somewhat lacking, although very pretty to look at. If you prefer to eat out most days you shall not have a problem.
The garden is even nicer than the pictures indicate and a lovely place to spend the afternoon or enjoy a nice evening dinner. It should be mentioned however that it is not as private as it looks. There is an upper story above this apartment with balconies all around. At the time we were there the upstairs was vacant however I could see this as an impingement of privacy for some people who may not enjoy being looked over.
The owners have clearly put an extensive amount of care and effort into this apartment and we highly recommend you give it a try.

Me and my wife stayed here for our honeymoon. We met up with Nikos and he had a card with a bottle of wine to congratulate and welcome us. He also gave us a rundown of things to do on the island that proved to be invaluable as we went about our week. The cottage was spacious, quiet, and very non-touristy (it is nestled in a quiet village away from most of the tourists). In a nutshell, it was perfect for us and what we were looking for. The garden was beautiful and I spent quite a bit of time there when I was "home". I couldn't help but look around and say, "wow, I'm in Greece!" The cottage is very close to Alykes Beach which has plenty of shopping, restaurants, and other excursions you can book. It is also a great central location for those looking to explore the entirely of the island.

We just came from Zakynthos and wanted to share the experience we had.
We booked Gioia cottage which is a quiet & beautifuly decorated with mediterranian art, has stone walls, fireplace , beautiful kitchen and also a patio and garden with outdoor shower. The owners Nikos and Christine kept in touch since we booked online until we got there which was really nice.when we arrived they put some music in the background and explained how everything around the house works
The location is perfect as is in the middle of the island so easy drive to the blue caves/ navagio beach/xigia/kampi etc all located to the north of the island, also 20 min away from zakynthos town . Alykes/alykanas is just about 2 km from the villa if you need local supermarket or a nice meal at paradisiako taverna or a decent selection of restaurants.
We would recommend Gioia villa to anyone who wants to relax after a day on the beach , we will be booking again next year

Very nice property, very good hosts. Location was perfect for us, but would recommend some transport (I would suggest a scouter, not a car). 15 min walking distance to the beachfront street with bars, restaurants, rentals, etc. (Alykes beach) 5 min to the nearest shop. The house itself is very beautiful and cozy. Looks exactly like on photos. Everything was working (we did not try the fireplace - so don't know if it works). Water heater works perfectly, not a single problem with cold or hot water. Garden is bit smaller than it appears on the photos, but we loved it (actually the best part of the house - we spent most of the time there) The village, property is located at, is quiet and very Greek (it is not very small - you can find anything you need there), which was what we were looking for. If you want to party - Alykes beach can offer a lot of options. Hosts - Nikos and Christine are very helpful (if they will offer you a visit - don't miss the opportunity). And the best part is the island itself. Do not go the single beach more than 1 time - go to a different one every day :)
P.S. - Nikos and Christine! Thank you for the perfect holidays!
