5BR 5BA. Gulf view. Private pool (per side). Across W Beach from the beach. Nice place...for less! Accommodates 21, or 42 with both sides!

This listing is for ONE side of this 2x5 bedroom duplex. Sea Urchins has a sweet private pool for each side, and the gulf is directly across the road. There s nothing standing between you and the water except West Beach Blvd, and then you come back home for your own private dip in the pool! AND, you get to the beach, crossing the road, at a CROSSWALK right at the corner of our property. Easy...

Sea Urchins is across from the 12th street public beach access so there is no home across from our house and no need to wander through private property to reach a beach access point! It's just about perfect for folks who want to save a bit but be just about "right on the beach"!

Each side of the duplex is a 5 bedroom and 5 bath unit.

(note, this bedroom's bath also serves as a common bath for the living room, through a separate entrance)

Please note that although the 3rd floor middle bedrooms do not have en suite baths, they CAN be completely treated as private to the bedrooms across from them. That is, eac h bedroom can have its own "private" bath since its a one to one, bedroom to bath mix!

3500 square feet of living space, is professionally decorated, makes extensive use of tile and crown molding, and includes granite kitchen countertops and much more. Each unit has a master suite.

Electronics abound in these homes: televisions, cable, excellent mesh wifi internet, smart TVs populate these stylish, yet comfortable, units. EACH unit has TWO wet bars and TWO refrigerators. If you haven't stayed in a vacation home with these extras, you'll find out what you've been missing and never want to stay somewhere without them! From kid's drinks to adult beverages to lots of leftover shrimp, having the extra space is a must for the well-seasoned travelers.

Because of high demand during the summer season, the units are available for full week stays only: in the end, though, don't you really deserve a whole week of rest, relaxation, and fun!

WIFI/INTERNET
YES! We have an awesome Eero mesh network to ensure excellent wifi coverage throughout this spacious home. Spotty coverage is always an issue for big places. Sure internet may work next to the router in the living room, but what about the far reaches of the home!? That's why we installed a multi-node mesh network. And what's the internet like? It is generally solid and ran > 250Mb down the last test--sufficient for several simultaneous video conference sessions for remote work and education. Internet is, of course, an amenity and subject to service provider outages (and guests "troubleshooting" it), especially with the havoc the sand and salt wreak on cabling and facilities, no more so than any other home on the beach though, and likely better since its close in and new construction!

SOAPS, TOWELS, COFFEE, ETC ETC
As with most beach homes in the area, the local mgt co provide what they call a "starter supply" of soaps, toilet paper, and paper towels, etc. Enough for the first night to get you going! Please plan to bring or purchase additional supplies, and any cleaning or pantry supplies you may need, or to make a quick run to the store (or have it delivered!). You will want to bring beach towels or beach chairs as well. Because mgt cos will not generally support them, grills are not provided, though they are sometimes inherited from prior guests: your mileage may vary on this, and we usually assess and then go snag a small charcoal kettle when we come down ourselves. Also of note: at many locations, you may find the bunk beds (and certain other beds) are not fully made--instead a bedding pack is provided. This is a common practice for the local management companies, which is both green (if the bedding is not used, it doesn't have to be laundered) AND more sanitary--housekeeping does not have to crawl on the bunks and so on to make the beds. Also also... all our homes have drip coffee makers and most now have Keurigs as well.

No smoking please, but feel free to eat lots of shrimp, bask in the warm sun, and have a great time!

There is not much to say at all in the negative but here are some positives that my family expressed to me over the course of the week: 1)location was great. Easy access to the beach. 2)The home is huge and easily accommodated our family of 8. 3)The overall condition of the home was very good. 4)We enjoyed having all the kitchen necessities including two refrigerators was great. 5)we loved the private pool. 6)Having enough bathrooms for everyone was terrific. 7)Good storage 8)We liked to at all the bedrooms each had access to the balcony. 9)We loved the each of the larger bedrooms had king beds. 10)The balcony space above the pool is fantastic. 11)The homes lighting is natural and bright. 12)Having a shower and hose under the home is very useful. 13)Plenty of parking for so many cars with room to spare. 14)Having a partial view of the gulf was great. 15)The AC is great 16)The variety of outdoor seating is amazing.

This property is in a great location. Not too far from restaurants/stores but not right on top of them. And it’s right across from the beach access so it really is just as good as beach front for less $$$. The pool is worth its weight in gold. While we were there there was a red flag one day and purple flags all week so having a pool as backup when the water was too rough or there were too many jellies was amazing. Important to note however; I wouldn’t count on the pull-out sofa as one of your beds because that sofa is old and squeaky (it was really the only thing that needed replaced) and just wasn’t comfortable enough for any of my kids to sleep on for a week so we shuffled around and made it work. Overall I would stay here again because this house was perfect for our family!

95% positive, one big negative. The house was great, the private pool was great, and the entrance to the public beach was right across the street. A market was located a block or so away, and grocery and drug stores were just a couple of miles away on 59 or a little farther in Orange Beach. Parking can be an issue. Sand and gravel run from the pool down into the street making it unclear where the property ends and the public line begins and cars pull in up to the pool wall almost every day leaving their cars there for hours. One of our cars was blocked in under the house for hours, and when I called bama beach houses for help, they said there was nothing they could do. Something as simple as parking curbs, landscape fencing, and proper signage would go a long way toward fixing this problem. I loved the house, hated the parking issue.

Stayed in the south side of Sea Urchins. Great place to stay with a large group. It's right across from the beach and is in a convenient location. We would love to return to this house again! Bama Beach Houses was very easy to work with, helpful and informative!

Amazing location! The house was exactly as described and very clean. being across the street from the beach entry was so nice! Richard was helpful and responsive and we hope to book again next summer!
