About this house rental
A few steps from a picturesque village, in the heart of green Umbria, Villa I Due Casali dominates the wide valley from above. Keeping the structural features of the original building intact, the recent restoration has transformed the cottages into a welcoming and comfortable home, surrounded by a well-kept garden. Forms, construction materials and tools typical of the ancient rural tradition, return to their former glory and find a new location by marrying modern technologies. On the green terraces, among fruit trees, wonderful flowering bushes, succulents and aromatic plants, there is the large salt swimming pool fully equipped with sun loungers, umbrellas and gazebos, the play area for the little ones and the soccer field. Villa I Due Casali comfortably accommodates 18 + 2 people in its 9 large, bright bedrooms with private bathroom with shower. The bathrooms on the ground floor rooms are also equipped to be easily accessible to disabled people. The ground floor of the main body is conceived as a large and bright space ideal for enjoying pleasant moments of conviviality, both seated at the large dining table and gathered around the large fireplace to warm up and relax in the warmth of the flame. In the warmer seasons it will instead be possible to eat outdoors under the large porch overlooking the valley bordered by green mountains on the horizon. Adjacent to the dining room and with direct access to the porch, there is the large modern and fully equipped kitchen. At guests' disposal there are also two barbecues, the strictly organic vegetable garden as well as the products from the orchard, all to be picked and savored.

Villa I due Casali is a beautiful villa in a stunning location. The rooms are all very spacious and very nicely decorated and we were amazed that every bedroom has its own bathroom. The pool is fabulous, large enough that it never felt crowded even when our entire group of 17 was in it. The grounds are fantastic with stunning views over the Umbrian hills and mountains. The outdoor space is superb with the covered seating area being a particular favourite for our evening meals. Our host, Anna was very responsive on the couple of occasions when we had minor issues to be sorted. We also asked asked Anna to come and cook for us one evening and she created an amazing four course dinner for a very reasonable price. If you are staying at this villa do not miss the opportunity to get Anna to cook for you. You will not regret it. Although the beautiful village of Preggio is right behind the village there are no shops or bars/restaurants. The nearest small supermarket is in Castel Rigone about 15 minutes away but the larger supermarkets are in Passignano, Magione or Umbertide all about half an hour away so shopping trips are a bit of a trek. Having said that, it is well worth the effort to enjoy the peace and seclusion available at Villa I due Casali. Anna you are a fabulous host and you very much became our family friend during our stay. We had the most wonderful stay at this stunning place and we very much hope to return in the not too distant future.

This is one of the few places that is more beautiful than the photos! We were a family group of 15 brought together by the matriarchs 80th birthday. From 80 to 5, we all had a fabulous time. Preggio is a very small village with only one restaurant, a bar open infrequently and no services. But shopping, a magnificent lake, and much else was only 20 minutes away. You need to have cars if you want to explore the region, and the roads of Umbria can by winding and narrow. But the setting is magnificent, the villa is exactly as described, with most rooms having an attached bathroom, and the pool is terrific. We had a great time and can recommend the villa without hesitation.
