We had a great time. Great location, close to restaurants, shopping, sightseeing. Nice bakery and coffee shop 5 min away.

The property was listed as accomodations for 10 and there were only beds for eight and beds were not good. It was hot and stuffy and no ceiling fans and some windows didn't open at all. The host did bring a blowup with just one fitted sheet. Very disappointing

Authentic little St. John’s roughhousing super cute we had a blast. It was a perfect situation for our party of nine. We walked downtown every night to parking areas. Everything was perfect.

We had the most lovely time with amazing views, accommodation and touring around with some friends and our baby who had never been to Newfoundland.
A nostalgic and emotional stay made all the better by this beautiful and classic saltbox home. Grateful and happy to have found it and huge thankyou to Mike and Steph who were extradordinary and quick to respond with every ask. Thank you and LMYBJD

I really enjoyed staying at this condo. It was great for my group of five friends.

The location of the accomodation was very central and within walking distance to downtown St. John's, Sobey's, bakeries, restaurants and even to Signal Hill. There was sufficient space for our travelling group of 9 adults.
This is an old character house with uneven floors, lots of steps to navigate, low basement ceiling height and sticky doors. Unfortunately on the last two days of our stay, a water leak developed from the upper floor and drained thru the ceiling of the floor below. But we accepted that is the nature of an older house. There was a washer and dryer available to use also.
The host (Michael) was very helpful from the booking and check-in process. He responded very quickly when contacted.

This place is perfectly situated for exploring St. John’s. There were six adults in our group, and there was plenty of room for all of us. We only ate dinner in a couple of nights, but had what we needed to create meals.
Bring your own toiletries (shampoo etc.), and might have to get coffee.
The beds were very comfortable, and we enjoyed relaxing in the living room.
Fantastic upper deck and the third floor suite is really nice.
No plug-in the upstairs bathroom. Would recommend a mirror above the desk where there is a plug for people drying their hair and doing make-up.
We would definitely stay there again!

The location was perfect but the property had some issues. We expect certain things when we reserve an historic home but the host left one and a half rolls of toilet paper for eight adults staying for five days. There was also only one towel per adult. When I asked for additional towels, he said you can wash them in the laundry downstairs. We had to purchase additional toilet paper and paper towels. While we knew sleeping in a double bed would be difficult for two adults, we did not expect the shape of the mattresses to be so terrible. It was not restful or accommodating at all. As a previous Vrbo Owner, myself, I would recommend purchase of some better mattresses Would be a wise investment.

Old typical postcard type St John’s house. Excellent location as it is an easy walk down to the pubs and restaurants, ( uphill back!). Nice view of the harbour from the upstairs and kitchen. Good bbq. Great bakery a block away. Street parking in front of the house and we found a another place to park our second car less than a block away. Rooms are quite spacious . It is an old house so floors can be a little funky and uneven, but that adds to the charm. Great house to use as a base to explore St John’s .

Stayed with 4 friends in this beautiful row house.
It is in a great location....amazing views from every window...especially from the top deck!!
The host was available within minutes whenever there were any questions.
Checking in and out went very smoothly. I would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful home with views of the Narrows and Signal Hill. Centrally located, just steps from the Rooms and all the activity on Water and George Streets, with just enough hills to walk off the excellent food. En suite master with a birdseye view of Signal, Hill, and a lovely deck. Home is spacious throughout, with a well appointed kitchen. Host is responsive and full of good suggestions - and the house is just around the corner from the Postmaster’s Bakery - did I mention those handy, guilt erasing hills.

We were visiting St. John's for the first time and could not have been happier with the location of this home. It was within walking distance (albeit somewhat hilly) to all major attractions in downtown St. John's. Mike was very quick to respond to any questions we had during our stay. The house was large, clean, and comfortable. The view from the third floor was spectacular and we enjoyed many evenings up there. I cooked several meals in the house and all the necessary cookware was available to me. One negative was a leak in the third-floor shower. As had been mentioned in a previous review, we did not find out that we could not use the shower until a couple of days before our arrival. This was not an issue for our small group, but it would be for a larger group. Overall, we loved this house and would not hesitate to book it again.

This property is great. The charming house is full of character and is in a traditional “jelly bean” neighborhood of old St. John’s and has a fantastic view of The Narrows from its kitchen and deck. The host responds quickly and is helpful with suggestions for outings. The house is spacious and clean and ideal for families.

house is 150 years old, while we enjoyed the character there were some issues. Told three days before we checked in one shower wasn't usable due to a leak, there were six of us using one shower. Sink in main bathroom clogged and unusable hoped to use gas bbq, grills were old, peeling, utensils rusty. OWNER STATED DIDNT KNOW WHERE THEY CAME FROM.?? Coffee maker not clean from previous renters. Owner came and fixed sink and told us we could try to use the other shower since he had tried to repair leaking tiles which we did and it was ok. Owner did respond to our complaints promptly and was pleasant and helpful . Close to most things we wanted to see in the city but would choose to stay in a place more updated and cleaner

Communication with the manager was amazing . It was nice to stay at such a historic house close to shops and restaurants. We enjoyed our stay.

The Narrows is a heritage house, complete with all the character and charm we love. It is very clean and complete with everything you would need. And a view of signal hill to boot! Just a few short blocks to all the shops and fun of downtown St. John’s. Michael is a very responsive host and easy to communicate with. Would highly recommend both property and host!

The house is definitely well located. Easy walk to Water street and the bars and restaurants. Two good bakeries in the neighborhood.
Check in was very easy.
