The Modern Moose is the perfect spot for all your outdoor activities and adventures. It is just minutes from world renown skiing, hiking, snow shoeing, climbing, water activities and wildlife viewing all year long.
At the same time it is just 20 minutes from the SLC international airport and walking distance to the grocery store, the park and ride, and even a great nail salon for those wanting a more relaxing time while others are on the slopes.
If location wasn't enough, the Modern Moose, is the perfect amount of luxury and comfort. With 2,800 well designed square feet and an extensive modern remodel, your family/ friends will have plenty of room to relax in the comfort of our home.
Some days you may want to stay home and just hang out.
The Moose can comfortably sleep 12 and has two separate gathering areas where your groups can sit, relax, eat, and enjoy each other’s company.
Each living area has big couches so huge and comfy that once you sit down, you may not want to leave!
Experience plush designer sheets and bedding, down pillows, plush towels, and all the kitchen appliances you will need to cook your meals.
There are 3 large flatscreen TVs with streaming capabilities, a downstairs theater room with Wii, basketball, and our newest addition (my favorite), a classic PACMAN arcade game.
Our brand new back deck has a new sunk in jacuzzi to relax and soak in after a long day on the slopes or hiking.
The EXTRA large capacity washer and dryer will be very handy for families or large groups.
There is plenty of parking at The Moose with a 2 car garage and room for two more cars in the driveway as well as extra parking in the parking lot three houses down.
We do not use a management company. We pride ourselves with personal service and make cleanliness a HIGH PRIORITY. We are always available for contact and will ensure the best service possible!

Early August, we thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful condo and were especially grateful for responsiveness of hosts/owners. On our hikes we saw moose and beavers, lots of western birds.
Highly recommend.

We enjoyed a long weekend stay at the Modern Moose! The house was beautiful and fully accommodated 3 players and their parents! It was clean and fully stocked with kitchen and bathroom items. The condo is also conveniently located within walking distance to an Kroger grocery store and coffee shop!
Shay was amazing to work with! Our girls made it out of pool play and went on to play two more days and Shay was flexible in allowing us to stay extra days! We will definitely will be returning to the Modern Moose if the opportunity arises!

We came from NM and CA for a family reunion and anniversary celebration over Memorial Day weekend. We were delighted to find a fully stocked kitchen with lots of room for all of us to cook. We were so pleased to find enough real plates and silverware for all of us. The house has so much room that we could be together when we wanted and alone when we wanted. The hot tub was warm and bubbly. Every bedside has a USB charger! Everything we could have wished for was there. Additionally, if it was ski season, the Snow Bus stop is just across the street. Grocery store nearby. It was the best ever!

Enjoyed a long weekend in Utah to see our son who now lives in SLC and our daughter from Vegas joined us. We had a great weekend and appreciated their beautiful & comfortable home. Had everything we needed for meal prep and family games. Lots of space and great location for our hikes, park city visit, and time in SLC.

This rental was the home base for our 10 year college reunion and it was totally perfect! The house comfortably slept 8 adults. Over the weekend, we had an intimate dinner with fifteen people, we played party games, and we had a big dessert open house with additional friends and family. It was the ideal rental in every way. Perfect for hosting and catching up with loved ones.

This is a fantastic townhome which our family of 5 really enjoyed! It’s a great space for visiting Brighton, Solitude, Alta, Snowbird and the Nordic center as we did for skiing, snowboarding and cross country + snowshoeing. The 4 bedrooms and 2 large, very comfortable sectionals were amazing while we made good use of the large and very well stocked kitchen for breakfast and dinner. Really appreciated the large kitchen table. The hot tub and basement activities were fantastic for our evenings. We really liked the style of this place and appreciated it’s touches like the boot dryer and garage ski rack. Our oldest, less experienced daughter did very well at Solitude with greens and blues. We had wonderful fresh powder. We don’t recommend Snowbird unless you’ve had fresh snow, it’s steep and gets dangerously icy. We will be back!! This is our 4th time in 2 years to the area. It’s just gorgeous and the ski resorts so easy and quick to drive to ( they do close road for 3 hours if an avalanche covers parts of the road, pay attention to U Dot. But snow removal is very efficient here!)

Modern Moose was a great home base for our family over a long ski trip. The kitchen made it easy to cook big meals, the dining room table let us all sit together, and the bedrooms offered good spaces to rest/relax. Thanks for providing a great place for family time!
There were many small things we liked:
-modern and well-designed interior with plenty of space for our family of 8
-comfortable beds/linens
-large dining room table that seats 10
-very cozy living room couch
-well equipped kitchen
-convenient location for getting to ski slopes
-easy parking for 3 cars (including garage space for 1 medium-sized vehicle)
-there are lots of hiking trails nearby as well as a park
-ski boot/glove dryer
-good washer/dryer
-the driveway was quickly shoveled after a big storm
A few things to be aware of:
-the home is right on Wasatch Blvd, which generates quite a bit of road noise all day/night especially in one of the upstairs bedrooms
-the hot tub is set at 91 degrees when you arrive; be sure to turn it up a few hours before you want to hop in
-there's only one thermostat for the whole house, but the temperature stays fairly even throughout; bedrooms can get a little chilly at night but the blankets are warm

Stayed here with a friend group to hit the slopes and it was one of the best places we've rented in SLC in our 10+ year run. Very convenient access to both canyon roads/resorts and the renovations in the home are much better than the rest of the rental stock in the area. Will definitely look to book again when we're back in the area.

Six adults had a great stay at The Modern Moose. We loved this place. VERY clean and everything seemed brand new. Location is perfect to hit Alta-Snowbird ( an easy 15-20 minutes away) or we even ventured up Big Cottonwood Canyon to ski Brighton (40-minutes) easily. Big city amenities are also nearby - we did our shopping at Trader Joe's and found some great restaurants, like Hoof and Vine (Yummmm!). We look forward to our next visit.

The property was exactly as listed and was very clean and was a cozy retreat each day after skiing! It was nice and central to the ski resorts and lots of restaurants.

This property was wonderful for our family of seven. There were three good size bedrooms upstairs, and one in the downstairs. Our teenagers loved staying in the downstairs bedroom, and they enjoyed the Wii games, Pop-A-Shot, and Ms. Pac-Man machine down there! The big couch downstairs, and in the family room were wonderful for everyone to lounge around and watch movies at night. The hot tub was amazing after a day of skiing.
The location of the property was perfect and only about 20 minutes to ski Snowbird, Alta, Brighton and Solitude. A little farther about 45 minutes to get to Deer Valley and Park City. Grocery store and everything else you need is only five minutes away.
The owner Shay was a pleasure to work with and easy to text with if you have any questions. I highly recommend this property and hope that we can return some time in the future!

We had a wonderful Christmas stay! The house was very clean, well stocked, and comfortable. The location was ideal with easy access to multiple ski resorts, and the hot tub was a nice bonus after a long day of skiing. Shay even put out some lovely Christmas decorations which made it feel like home. We would love to stay here again!

The Modern Moose condo is an updated, clean, comfortable and just a delightful base camp for winter ski activities in Big and Little Cottonwood Canyon. Our host Shay was communicative and helpful from booking to departure. I highly recommend these wonderful hosts and their condo!

Three families got together for the second year in a row to celebrate Thanksgiving— the property worked perfectly for our needs. It is a high end property that is stocked with everything you could ever need. Very comfortable beds and lounging furniture with separate spaces for kids and adults to enjoy different activities. The location could not be better with hiking trails and ski resorts just minutes away. Shay provided great communication and was helpful in accommodating our requests. I would definitely stay here again!

It's hard to limit all the great things this property has to offer in a short summary but I will do my best. Its location is about 2 minutes from the mouth of the canyon and sits just below the mountains, so if you want to hike, mountain bike, sight see, you can't really pick a better property. The property is also close to great restaurants, grocery stores and a beautiful park if you just want to breath some fresh air.
The actual property looks updated, it's clean, well kept, spacious, and has great furniture, beds, bathrooms, and a large kitchen that accommodates large groups. We had a few guests for dinner and they raved about the property.
The hosts are attentive, helpful, and kind. We had a small issue with the water heater and it was fixed quickly and effectively. Texts were responded to quickly and its was just a pleasure interacting with Shay.
All this to say, we all greatly appreciated you opening your house to us. We shared some great memories and met knew friends and this property accommodated a great experience. I would stay here again with friends and I would most definitely stay here with my family as well.

The house was perfect in every way! Very well stocked, clean, spacious and perfect location to 4 ski areas. There were 6 of us and we all had plenty of room. The host responded to any questions within minutes. Would definitely come back!

This was the perfect property from which to ski Snowbird/Alta! We could get up to the mountain easily, were less than 5 minutes from groceries, and there was so much to do in the house, we rarely left other than to ski. We loved relaxing in the hot tub! There were multiple great common spaces including incredibly comfy couches and the kitchen was incredibly well-stocked. This is a great place for multiple groups/families given lots of bedrooms, bathrooms, and multiple living rooms/common spaces. Shay was incredibly responsive and a great host. We would try to stay here again if possible for future trips to the area.

This property has a fabulous location for access to the canyons and valley. It was super clean and well stocked. The beds were comfortable and we had plenty of space for our group of 6. Loved having the entertainment area with games, basketball shoot and video game console for my teens. Kept them all happy when not out and about. Shay was responsive and great to work with. We will be back for sure!

Our group of 8 stayed comfortably at the Moose House. It was in a super convenient spot for the skiing we did and had plenty of room to comfortably hang out and cook. The hot tub was amazing after a day in the snow. Id highly recommend this house!

We were a group of 8 adults - and the house was more than big enough. Two great common rooms, amazing kitchen, super modern and perfectly clean.
Shay was great from start to finish.. responded to inquiries, provided us everything we needed.
As for location - if you're skiing Cottonwood Canyons you really can't get much closer to the entrance to both.

The property was excellent for a guys ski trip of 6. Very comfortable all around, kitchen had plenty of extras for meals cooked at the place. Easy access to skiing in either canyon. Property manager was very hospitable and reliable.

This was our first time visiting SLC. We loved it. The house was well stocked with lots of extras. Location was great for heading to multiple ski resorts. Close to grocery store and restaurants. We would definitely come back.

This house is so close to everything. There's a shopping center as well as multiple ski shops and restaurants nearby. It was short trip to the mountains in the morning only about 15 minutes away from snowbird and alta. Park city and Deer Valley are a little bit further as well. I would definitely do another ski trip from here again.

We had a great time stay in Cottownood Heights! We had 11 people staying in the house and had plenty of space. The house is beautiful and comfortable. The teens loved hanging out in the basement. The kitchen is very well stocked. Everyone enjoyed the private hot tub on the back deck! The location is perfect for hitting the nearby ski slopes. The hosts are very kind and responsive. We would definitely stay here again!

The home had been nicely updated and was accurately reflected in the photos. We were however a little disappointed that there was no place to sit outside. This is a townhome so it has a shared yard with a small deck that can really only fit the hot tub. Our first day there it was really hot out and the upstairs could not cool off . Once the weather cooled down, this was no longer an issue.
It is in a nice neighborhood with good access to the freeway.

(1) Great location near canyons big and little cottonwood (skiing and hiking). Close to freeway so easy drive to downtown Salt Lake for entertainment and dinner … and easy drive to Park City. (2) Great townhome with great living room space for the adults and basement entertainment space for the kids. And loved having a hot tub to relax.
