About this house rental

La Alegria is a beautiful Andalusian style cortijo surrounded by its own vineyard, olive grove and fruit trees. Its idyllic setting with spectacular views of the Sierra de Grazalema makes it feel secluded and peaceful yet its closeness to Ronda provides easy access to shops, bars, restaurants and a wide range of activities available in the area such as horse riding, visits to wine farms, hiking, and for the more adventurous caving, climbing and paragliding. The accommodation includes four bedrooms and two bathrooms in the main house and a self-contained apartment with a double bed, shower room, kitchenette and sitting area, which is connected to the house through an enclosed courtyard. At the front of the house there is a patio shaded by an old vine, overlooking the vineyard. At the back of the house you will find the most spectacular views of the mountains while relaxing in the sitting area of the porch and overlooking the pool. There is a BBQ, a herb garden and a dining table with seating for up to 10 people. And when in season you can pick your own fruit and vegetables from the garden. At La Alegria you will have a very happy, relaxing and memorable holiday.

Our family spent 2 weeks at this nice holiday home with a great pool. All was as described and Lara &Justin were very helpful and attentive. The absolute best bits: - you cant beat the views! - remote location, but still within 10min of Ronda - lovely pool - covered outdoor lounge area - cuddly dog called 'socks' who roams the outside grounds We visited in the heat of August and, as expected, the temperatures were soaring. Without any aircon in the thickwalled property you have to be ready to 'manage' the temperatures by opening/closing the windows to enable the house to cool down for the night. Plenty of fans were provided to help. For families reliant on internet: Our teenage kids struggled a little with the WiFi, which was slightly unreliable, but 4G was available. Overall a lovely place to stay, well looked after and maintain with plenty of equipment. Lara gave us amazing recommendations on where to eat in and around Ronda - most of which we tried ! Many thanks for a lovely time

We had a lovely time staying in La Alegría with friends. It was max 32-35 degrees during our stay and this house was very good at dealing with the hot weather, even without air conditioning. There is a verandah with permanent shade to lounge in, and dips in the pool helped to keep everyone cool during the daytime. Shutters and windows were thrown open at nighttime to let the cooler air in. There were fans for each bedroom. We had lovely barbecues in the evenings or walked to a local restaurant. Having the three dogs around the property really added to our stay. Lara was an excellent communicator. A lovely part of Spain. We would be very happy to stay again.

We've just returned from the most memorable holiday in this fabulous villa. Less than 10 mins drive from picturesque Ronda, the villa and grounds were spacious, immaculate and private with stunning views across the expansive countryside. Many evenings were spent watching the sun set behind the mountains and the stars come alive in a cloudless sky. Lara was warm, welcoming and generous with her time. Small touches such as beach towels, toiletries and cooking ingredients - so often absent in holiday rentals - made a big difference and were much appreciated. We didn't want to leave and would recommend this property without reservation to anyone looking for the perfect stay in a beautiful part of Spain.

A memorable two week holiday!

A memorable two week holiday!

My family enjoyed a fabulous two week holiday in this very comfortable villa. We were 2 families... adults, teens and children..... there was plenty of space for all. The house is well equipped, with everything that we could possibly need. We bbq’d almost every night.... the setting and comfort of the outdoor seating and pool area is perfect - for sunbathing, swimming, sipping cocktails and alfresco dining! A beautiful swimming pool .....and we were treated to magnificent sunsets over the mountains and bright starry skies every evening. Lara was very friendly and welcoming from the start, she provided such valuable information of things to do, places to visit, restaurants etc in the local area - we ticked through many items on her suggestion list. I was pleasantly surprised as to how much exploring we were able to do and every activity or city/village visit was thoroughly enjoyed. Great location! Great accommodation! Great hosts! I would happily go back - Thank you for having us!

Very nice house very pleasant, we were 6 and it was perfect! The pool is fantastic as the space outside. Lara and Justin are very nice, and Lara gave us very good advise on restaurants. Ronda is beautiful and you can easily drive around. We recommend this place.

Lara was a wonderful host. I had made a mistake with my dates and Lara was very accommodating and understanding. The house is extremely comfortable and even though it was too chilly to use the pool, we sat outdoors a lot and enjoyed the beautiful vistas. Lara was in touch with me the entire stay and was a pleasure to meet.

This house was perfect in a beautiful setting close by to Ronda. Also really nice as there were also a couple of restaurants within walking distance- Lara was a good host offering advice and information about restaurants, bars and wine tasting.

The house was beautiful and clean. We had everything we needed. The covered patio and pool were wonderful and we spent hours relaxing there We were close to town as well as other villages and it was less than two hours to Seville and Córdoba. Mala experiencia!

Mala experiencia!

Una de las peores escapadas rurales que he tenido sin duda! A las 22:30 de la segunda noche se produjo una avería eléctrica en la zona y dejó la casa sin electricidad. Al no tener electricidad no teníamos agua caliente, ni calefacción, ni posibilidad de hacer nada de comer, etc. La luz no volvió hasta el día siguiente después de nuestra hora de salida, por lo que pasamos toda la noche sin electricidad y tuvimos que abandonar la vivienda antes de la hora de salida prevista. Puse la incidencia en conocimiento de la propietaria y le reclamo que estudie la posibilidad de reembolsarme el importe de la noche que no pudimos disfrutar y ella se remite a que no es responsabilidad suya, que la avería es externa y que son "frecuentes los cortes de electricidad en casas rurales". Pongo en conocimiento de otros viajeros esta experiencia para evitar que alguien vuelva a pasar por la misma situación que nosotros.

Beautiful villa in a stunning location

The villa was really well maintained with beautiful rooms and a stunning outlook. We spent most of our time by the pool on the lovely outdoor sofas and sun loungers. We only spent a short while in Ronda town itself but would definitely return.

Mi familia y yo hemos tenido un fin de semana perfecto en esta casa, teniamos todo tipo de comodidades, la propietaria es súper amable y estaba disponible para todo lo que necesitasemos. La casa es preciosa y muy recomendable para llevar niños ya que podrán disfrutar al máximo; sin duda volveremos muy pronto.
