Staying overnight at a castle has been on my bucket list for quite some time. My Amberley Castle stay did not disappoint. The accommodations were a perfect blend of 21st century comforts and a centuries-old castle. My son and I stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed our beautiful rooms and breathtaking grounds, along with impeccable service and delicious food. Every request to the staff was fulfilled cheerfully and efficiently.

Had a fantastic couple of days stay, would. Certainly recommend this lovely hotel

Castle is beautiful. Service needs a little improving especially at breakfast. Would have appreciated a buffet as well as the hot Ala carte items. Rooms were clean but could have used a little updating.

Super friendly staff !! Outstanding food …

Checking-in was a little disjointed but thereafter everything was excellent - room and restaurant.
4.7
Amazing natural environment with historical atmosphere. Will go there again in future.

If you want to be spoiled by amazing service and spectacular food, surrounded by history where famous bishops, kings, and queens stayed for 800 years, look no further. The village setting next door seems out of a fairly tale.

If you are thinking about staying here, do yourself a favor and don't miss it.

Fantastic experience. Quite and cosy.

Two night stay, dined at a local pub in Amberley the first night and at the Hotel the second night. The service and food in the restaurant at breakfast and at dinner was excellent. The hotel staff I spoke to on the phone before arrival and all the staff came in contact with while there were polite, friendly and helpful.
The room was kept clean and tidy with tea and coffee replenished each day for duration of stay.Option of free daily newspaper explained at check in.

This was a wonderful stay. The Castle is fascinating and all the staff, particularly Michael and Henny were so friendly and helpful. Can’t wait to go back.

Staff were incredibly helpful and the food was delicious.

Stunningly beautiful place and village
The staff were wonderful, very polite and helpful from start to finish
Water pressure in room low, but never easy in a 1000 yr old castle!
Will definitely revisit

Staff were fantastic. Even when we did drop-off in the car. They came out to greet us and take our luggage in Direct explaining about the castle and showing us where the lounges were and breakfast room. Staff couldn’t do enough we like fresh milk they said they would bring it up for us Breakfast was amazing the chef was very good enjoyed sitting in the lounge in the evening, having drinks and a snack one comment. Shame you didn’t do burger and chips for a snack meal in the evening

Weather was not good but the place was amazing.
Truly stunning castle.

We had the best time. The castle and grounds are stunning. They do absolutely everything to make things comfortable and provide such great service. Our room was spotless and beautiful. What a wonderful experience.
4.7
Quiet and beautiful. Super friendly staff.
Got hot in the room and the fan provided was loud
4.7
Superb renovation of an old castle. Brilliant food and great rooms

For a premium Hotel the facilities were poor. If it had been less expensive it would have been fine, but they've clearly opted to go for the money no object customer, and for that they should do better. Our room was dark with almost no windows and poor lighting. The walk in shower looked great, but was in practice disapointing, and the room (again for the money) was in poor repair.

Really friendly and helpful staff, beautiful location.

fantastic service, delicious food ans lovely area.highly recommended.

The Amberley Castle hotel is beautiful. The village is picture perfect and the location excellent for exploring. I have marked as excellent which in most ways it is. The room was beautiful. However maintenance of the room could be improved. One blind was faulty and needed a repair. The shower head needed fixing as dripped rather than sprayed and the shower glass moved so the floor got very wet when having a shower. Small things that did not spoil our stay but surprising nonetheless. Would however highly recommend.

A very good experience. I would revisit.

Took my husband to celebrate our anniversary. It was a surprise and he had no idea where we were going. He was completely blown away as we pulled into the driveway and approached the portcullis. WOW! is about all he could manage to say. Everything about this hotel is just fabulous. Staff are lovely and couldn’t be more helpful. Our gatehouse suite was incredible, the gardens are stunning and breakfast was delicious. We didn’t want to leave. Thoroughly recommend this hotel if you are looking for somewhere really special and truly memorable.

Coming from the US, Napa has always been a bit of a getaway for me. So when I had the chance to take a weekend away from Central London and find some tranquility, Amberley Castle was the instant cure. What a gorgeous location. The castle was a sight to behold and the staff, the breakfast, dinner, you name it, it was absolutely sublime. The weather was not the best this particular weekend, but it didn't matter as the room was so nice and just the peace and quiet away from the city was really what was needed. What a treat for those that can book a room at Amberley Castle. Absolutely loved it here.

Staff was excellent They did everything possible to make the stay nice.

Wow! Just wow!
4.7
Excellent cannot fault there is no bar though but several comfortable lounges where you can relax and have a drink.
4.7
A beautiful hotel and great staff for whom nothing was too much trouble, but ultimately disappointing. Although there was an extra electric radiator and an open gas fire in the room in addition to the central heating, the temperature never rose above 19ºC, regardless of the thermostat setting. The bathroom was even colder and the hot water temperature and pressure made bathing impossible and showering
Dinner in the restaurant was perfectly cooked and beautifully presented, but it was more style than substance – perfect for a special occasion but not, in my opinion, for every night dining.
My final gripe is with the 18 hole putting course. It has been sadly neglected and, when we visited, it was infested with weeds and unplayable.
In my view, this is a very nice hotel, with excellent staff, but with faults which should be addressed if it is to justify the ‘luxury’ description and prices.

Historical and classical castle with modern amenities lead by professional and customer focused staff. Unique setting in southern England. Stayed here 29 years ago and still worthy of another stay.
