Convenient place to stay if you want something near to the airport or if you want to rest before you hit the city. Very corporate and not very charming, but it’s fine for a one night stay

Our room was clean and smelled fresh. We had a junior suite which was perfect because we had our son with us. There’s a pony wall dividing the small living area with a fold out couch, where our son slept, from the bedroom area. Both areas had TVs. It was the perfect set up. Also, they have a little marketplace dining area for snacks, breakfast sandwiches and coffee/tea. It was a perfect grab and go before leaving for the day. We were close to the train station, so it was easy to go to the city.

The stay was fine, but the person who checked us in was short answers and rude! The restaurant and cocktail lounge was good and servers were great!!!

Overall, I am very please with my stay at Grand Bay Hotel San Francisco. A very quiet, safe, and secure place to be. I had no worries about my vehicle being vandalized ir broken into because of the area the hotel is located. Next trip to SF, I would definitely stay at this same hotel. Staff are all friendly and accomodating. Thank you.

Nice comfortable & convenient stay while carrying out my Fathers memorial services in town. My Family stayed here too, & it had a nice atmosphere, very comfortable during a hard time :) and the restaurant & Bar was nice and convenient. Breakfast was excellent.

Spacious hotel and lobby with nice bar /pool area. Lots of functions going on in function rooms. No shopping areas in close proximity. Pool is much smaller than pictures but still was nice.

Average hotel, better values in the area. It's a business hotel. We stayed one night to be near SFO for an international flight in the AM. It was a lot better back in the days it was owned by Sofitel. It is no longer upscale. The grounds are very nice, especially along the man-made lake. Half of the rooms face the lake. Ask for lake view. What I really disliked was that they put us in me an accessible room, I did not book nor did they inform me at check in? The restaurant is hit or miss, it was busy when we were there. I ordered a burger and fries, which was the worst I've ever had with cold dried out fries, I should have known better. There is a Shake Shack down the road for 1/3 the price. My SO ordered chicken Picatta which was very good. The restaurant service is good. The bar looked really poppin'. If you like bar scenes, this is definitely a good one. The restaurant water tastes terrible, showers are weak. Overall the Room was clean, plenty of power for devices, no bed bugs, but behind the headboard it was absolutely filthy. The bed at least for me was not comfortable and the pillows were sky high and too firm for me. I rolled up a towel and used it as pillow. The comforter did not breath. It traps all your heat and you end up sweating even if you turn the A/C way down. In summary, I would not stay here again for the price, its not a value. There are likely better values in the surrounding area if you are staying like we did to go to SFO the next day.

Pleasant stay. The down in the comforters need replacing. We did eat in the restaurant the food was good and the drinks were strong. Downside: The ends of the feathers poked through the comforter.
All in all pleasant stay.

Nice hotel with a convenient cafe for breakfast and decent restaurant. Nearby dining available.

Property was well maintained and looked very elegant inside. However, when trying to speak to the front desk, I experienced getting hung up TWICE on my call with them. All I had asked was to confirm my reservation and a question, and immediately got hung up. I hope no one else will experience this as well and the staff learns to do better

I am a Bay Area local and decided to book a room because of an early morning appointment.
I made sure to look for a highly rated, dog friendly hotel. I spent more than my average looking for a double room for one night.
I am very disappointed in my purchase.
There was not enough staff to help us with our bags. An additional parking fee and pet fee were added to the resort fee- which were not mentioned on the booking sight.
If it was a high quality room I would have accepted those costs without judgement.
However, the "pet floor" seems to have major issues.
The carpet at the door entry was torn and frayed. The cabinetry was greasy and scuffed. The bathroom mirror had discolorations and dim lighting. When my mother went for a shower after using the pool, the water came out brown. There was one air vent for the room that reset to 75 degrees at midnight.
I don't believe the booking price reflect the quality we received, much more motel room quality

Upon arrival and said that we had a reservation due to a birthday party and wanted early check in we were told that there was a room available and we need to pay $223. We said that we already paid via Expedia. He checked again and said yes he see that we paid already. He said that we need to pay $40 parking which is too much, when we asked if there is a discount for the birthday party he then asked his coworker and told that parking is waived.. I think that he needs more training and should know what is waived ahead of time before customers started checking in. E.g. Are you here for an event? If yes, he should know about the parking situation.. supervisor should give the staff notice of the days event and what to expect. Thanks

Hotel is a little dated, plumbing issue for sure !(3" of water and soap scum 1 minute into the shower) .
The breakfast buffet was embarrassing honestly. Ive had better free holiday in express breakfasts (and saved $38, lol)

The bathroom had a mold issue on the wall near the floor (bubbling paint areas and visible black areas). The tub also did not drain well while showering. The room vents were very dusty. I told the staff and I was upgraded to a nicer room, however, the next room while nice was musty (smelled like a smoker had used prior). Two lounge chairs by pool were broken and not able to adjust. One of the doors to access the pool with the pass did not work. I had paid extra for a late check out but then my card didn't work and I had to let them know. Overall, it seems this hotel needs significant upgrading and maintenance. I would not stay again or recommend.

The person that checked us in was a bit rude. We did not feel welcomed to the property. When I asked about which card the room would charge, her response was not customer service centric.

When we checked in we didn’t get double bed as we requested and paid for . Fire pit outside the lobby didn’t work . The bathroom toilet in our room was not flushing . Overall I wouldn’t stay again in this place . A lot of customers that stayed there had the same issues . Also they charge extra fees that you are not aware of once you get to the hotel to check in . Not for my standard as a hotel . I thought it was be better for the price we made .

Great hotel. The front ealk could use some attention though.
The parking garage was a mess. The elevator doesnt go to the third parking floor, sand bags ripped open in the stair well, lights on the top deck don't work or weren't turned on creating an unsafe situation, cobwebs and dirt everywhere. Looks like the garage doubles as a junkyard for old hotel equipment and the rear entrance has trash all over the landscaping. It could use some serious attention and cleanup work for sure.

I did not like this property because they charged me extra money. I checked in at 9 pm and was only staying for one night. My room was dirty, had hair all over the bathtub and the supposed to be clean towels. The tub was black. Also I didn’t feel like I was accepted to be there because of the color of my skin. For sure wouldn’t stay here again.

My wife and I found this place to be a perfect weekend getaway, with the pool and different amenities.

Booked through Hotels.com and had a change to our plans. The hotel has a 24 hour cancellation policy before the reservation date while Hotels.com has a policy of 24 hours after making the reservation.
There was no in between so we kept the reservation we didn’t need. My wife checked in Saturday and never stayed while I checked in Sunday for the night before my early morning flight on Monday.
I was ready for a nice shower Monday morning and well, no hot water.
I will never stay here or use hotels.com again.

The staff are very dismissive. We stayed for a week and despite repeated requests our safe was not fixed neither was the refrigerator. They also managed not to make up the room two days.
I spoke to the front desk on a daily basis. They took notes and in turn ignored my requests.
Avoid this hotel at all cost.
