Nice hotel however my only complaint was there was no bedside table on the left side of the bed and no bedside lamps so you had to get out of bed to switch the lamp on or off

The hotel was lovely and staff extremely helpful. Our room wasn’t quite ready at check in but staff were very apologetic and gave us complimentary drinks. The room was large and spacious perfect for a family. Food was exceptional.

The staff made us extremely welcome and without exception had a smile for us. My wife really raves about the spa. She loved the size of the pool and the jacuzzi.

Brought my eldest daughter for some 1 on 1 mum/daughter time..from checking in with nancy who was on reception and greeted us with a smile to going to our lovely large room with bath/shower en suite( lovely bonus as we dont have bath at home) enjoyed the spa area which was also spotless n so relaxing..we decided to have a drinks in our room( we took with us) dan on the bar downstairs was lovely enough to supply us with bucket of ice and glasses even though we didnt drink in the bar which was another positive part to our stay.. we will definitely visit more often and highly recommend this hotel

Not as pleasant. Asked for a double room and they put 2 single beds together and they were not even equal. Just useless.

vans parked in front of front door on a night as they get broken it to in carpark. this makes it hard to exit the hotel to get to the carpark and also creates a fire escape hazard. mentioned this to reception but not bothered.
stayed in 2 different class of rooms and none as pictured so don't expect the toiletry's pictured in the Privilege room or the 2 chairs and table in the standard room.
in restaurant i ordered a starter and main for them to come back half hour later saying the starter wasn't available so i said i would have the main and maybe have cheese board after. i waited and waited for someone to come ask after main and eventually give up

Very nice greeting on reception. Only negative we had waited 5 minutes at reception to order a taxi. On arrival the reception lady bypassed myself and my wife to book a bunch of ladies in who had only just arrived. That was more important to her than looking after our needs. She knew we had waited but felt booking in people was more important. She just gave us the taxi number to ring. She even said I need to book these people in first. Even though they had just arrived. My feedback, please get your priorities right. All guests are importing, not just those arriving.

There are some great things about the hotel and some not so good.
The great was the staff particularly the receptionists. Spa and room very nice, lovely hot shower.
However there was a connecting door between my room 102 and the one next door and no sound proofing, so I could hear their conversations and tv quite clearly. Plus their light shone through into my room. It kept me awake.
At dinner I ordered mussels but was given mushrooms. No explanation or apology. It was very nice but not what I ordered. A sign in the restaurant said to wait to be seated but no one came and staff then told me that they weren’t operating that system and you had to order at the bar. That’s fine but you need to say so when people walk in.

Booked last minute for hotel with a pool, what a great surprise, had a whole heat and ice experience available complimentary with stay. Bedroom was really comfortable and the hotel was fresh. Lots of parking for large vehicles too

Great check in and the guy was very helpful and told me all about the hotel. I have visited numerous times. I think the bar has be done out. We love the spa and we ate in the restaurant this time and the fish and chips was amazing.

First time we have stayed at the mercure in manchester. We arrived thurs and there was plenty of parking , on entering reception where greeted straight away and where friendly and promptly sorted our room. The room was clean and tidy with facilities we hoped for. We took advantage of using the pool and were impressed by hiw clean it all was. Finally we had a meal on the second night and some drinks and again very pleased as with breakfast which was delicious. Totally enjoyed our stay.

Received an email from the hotel AFTER booking and paying in full that there may be excessive noise during our stay due to events happening on or near to hotel. I did ring and was told that there was two weddings that were planned that would go on until 1am. We did not see this as a problem initially. However, the noise downstairs was minimal. The noise in the corridors of guests arguing, checking out at 12am, supercars revving engines to excess at well after midnight, arguing at 4am right through until 6am. Threats from other guests after asking to keep the noise down, turned our stay into a nightmare. This was well beyond a bit of background noise from a wedding. It was shocking. The hotel itself seemed a nice venue but the situation we found ourselves in became unbearable. It totally ruined our experience

There was a hole in the bed sheet and there was not any sweeteners.

Breakfast service and experience was really poor, and the breakfast room itself was terribly outdated and desperate for upgrade which summed it up - overall this had a negative impact on other positive aspects of my stay namely spa, bedroom and the hotel location

First Night we arrived at 11.30pm, parking was fine, there’s lots & area looked nice, wasn’t that late but no one at Reception desk, all went downhill from there - told by some member of staff to ring the number left at the Desk but no one answered. Then Phone rang & it was a guest asking for Room Service. When member of staff passed by again we asked her what to do she finally went to look for the Reception person. When he finally turned up asked my first name and then couldn’t find my Keycard, took ages, past Midnight when I finally got to my room. Then at 3.30am the Fire alarm sounds but no message to leave so tried to fall back asleep. Then room looked OK but bathroom was terrible, the screen doesn’t keep water off the floor, the Door had Black mould & for some inexplicable reason there is a Speaker in the Room. The Lockers in the changing rooms are rubbish- most don’t work & there is a flashing light that could give you seizures if you’re epileptic. The Spa was overcrowded at one point but pool was fine. Just the worst stay I’ve had a Mercure Hotel.

Professional, friendly staff. Immaculate facilities in the spa. Lovely breakfast with a large selection. Super comfortable bed with lush pillows and duvet. Facilities in the room were excellent, wouldn’t hesitate to recommend or return!

The hotel is fine other than the twin beds and bedding.
Twin room one bed very soft one very hard but both poor.
Likewise duvets one thick one thin. Very solid as were pillows.
Desperately needs improving.
Rest of hotel fine.

Initially the ground and reception area were inviting. Although I was extremely disappointed with the standard of the rooms. The carpet was covered in stains and very dated. Not 4 Star!!
Breakfast was probably the worse I’ve experienced. Eggs were not edible, bacon like cardboard. Coffee machine broke on Sunday and so was the toaster. Disappointing!
Spa was lovely though

having work done at the hotel, my room was okay a bit dated but very noisy with Traffic.
Food very good, run out of 5 on tap drinks which was also not great.

Great place! Had an issue with room on last night which ruined sleep. Night porter was lovely but couldn’t fix it during the night but at least he passed it onto the dayshift and offered compensation.

Excellent stay with all the amenities as mentioned. The pool, spa and gym was spectacular

Lovely hotel. Was very clean.
Our hairdryer start smoking so reported to reception. Only problem is they are wired in to the wall which doesn't seem safe if once was to be smoking or set alight.
Overall had a lovely 2 night stay.

The spa and swimmiing pool were highlights. The wine-cooler fridge in the room was a real bonus.
There should be more electric sockets in the room, especially by the bedsides. Extra lamps, particularly in the corner by the armchairs, would have been appreciated; as well as stronger bedside reading lamps.

Great stay. Very clean and accommodating staff. Bar and spa are great additions for an enjoyable stay.

The room was clean and well kept, sadly outside our ground floor room (106) was a patio where the staff kept coming out onto and talking very loudly. We were woken many times through the night and early morning so had a terrible sleep and we were tired all day.

I had a great time. We went for the pool and jacuzzi and we were not disappointed. They also have saunas.
Breakfast was good and staff were helpful and polite.
If I'm being picky, I'd say we should have had robes in our room, also the bathroom drain was slow. And the shower gel wasn't enough.
Otherwise it was a great experience.

Room quite tired, ceiling lamp falling off, bathroom had seen better days, bed not great. Thin walls , could hear my room neighbours phone call too well. Decent breakfast. Expected more for the cost.Unlikely to stay again.
