Desk clerk was very friendly and suggested excellent restaurant.

Everything was really clean. Breakfast was 5star. Service was excellent. It charges a small parking fee

Very mediocre hotel. Needed maintenance to come fix a toilet problem and they never came.
1.5
Needed to get a new key card but after waiting for 30 minutes for help, no one showed up at the front desk.
Cost of parking was not obvious in reservation information. Breakfast was better than nothing.

This hotel charging for parking was very hidden on hotels.com. We would not have booked our 5 night stay if we knew we were paying $18 per night extra. The staff was not accommodating or nice when trying to solve our issue. When hotels.com became involved the parking fee was waived.

First day only had a room with no A/C were told we could be moved the next day "if" they had another room because they were over booked "or" we could stay in the room we had and get a 40 to 50% off our stay, we opted for the discount. On our last day we were told we could get the discount on our next stay. We were also told the manager would contact us twice and that never happened either. At this point were will not stay at the hotel or the companies other places ever again.
If you have an issue with your stay and they tell you they are going to do something about your problem make them do it right there and then, don't wait till the last day of your stay.

Old property, clean but need major uplift.

My vehicle was vandalized on this property and the hotel didn't seem to care. It felt unsafe as soon as I arrived on the property, and another guest was complaining about getting a room with no air conditioning. I would have rather spent a little extra and not had my car vandalized.

Very clean and quiet

No AC, the building, as well as the room looked old and eerie.

Nightmare experience! I was double charged for one room. I have spent HOURS on the phone with Hampton Inn and every time I have to re explain my situation, get a new case number, and am promised that the manager will call me back and issue my refund. The manager, Julianne, will not call me and the front desk worker would not let me speak to her. I have left multiple messages with multiple front desk people. I have been promised a call back and a refund over and over again. It has been a month and I have still not even been able to speak to the manager. I have two young babies at home and the hours on the phone has been a huge sacrifice for my family.

My room hadnt been turned over at 3:45 when I checked in. OK, easy mistake. Returned at 10PM after letting the front desk know at 4PM and it was in the same condition. Also, AC didn’t work.

Arrived to no one at the front desk. It was quite awhile until someone came to help. She seemed incredibly frustrated. She was speaking Spanish through a walkie talkie, with barely any eye contact with me in front of her. I tried to have some small talk with her, she wasn’t interested. We booked under the understanding that the room had ocean views. It did not. We were looking at a parking lot with a golf course in the distance, that was the view. Apparently it’s a typo. It’s a “golf course view “ or “ocean view” (there’s a freeway in front of your view) that they choose for you. Room smelled pretty bad.

Cleanliness and ice machine broke

Updates are needed. Beds are not very comfortable. Suggest replacing carpet with vinyl wood. Breakfast food is not very good other than waffles and coffee.
Parking should be included in stay.

I rate it average because this is all you can expect for a moderately priced hotel in the USA nowadays.
I just came back from Spain and for this price you get excellent in all categories.
Our room was switched for cheaper one because the A/C was broken. The pool had no towels, the bathroom had no rinse, the breakfast was not good as in every hotel. I think that at any given time the hotel had about three people working there.
What else can I tell you.
I forgot.. the night we arrived the police was there because there was a person wandering around the second floor. I was told that it was possibly a prostitute. They never found her.
And the Hotel name is Hampton Suites by Hilton. How this industry has deteriorated so much is beyond me. Sorry.

The hotel was ok, good service. Great location.

Easy 10-15 minute walk to beach. Large room with balcony and nice views of golf course.
It seemed you could easily park near by on street without paying hotel parking fees.

They gave us room #214. It was run down, the outside sound can be heard inside our room from other rooms, sound from people walking out the elevator, sound from when they close the door etc. The rooms were last updated 20 years ago!

My recent stay at this Hilton hotel was extremely disappointing and frustrating.
Check-In Issues:
- Upon arrival, we were given a room with a non-working AC.
- After requesting a new room, we were asked to wait an hour while they attempted to resolve the issue.
- During this time, we were even asked if we could stay in the room overnight despite the broken AC, as there were no other rooms available.
Resolution Delays:
- The clerk at the front desk gave us the runaround, and it wasn't until 11:30 PM that we finally received a new room.
- This resolution was only achieved because a new clerk came on duty, and I had to call Hilton directly and Hotels.com to escalate the issue.
-the hotel had 8 available rooms per the new clerk and didn’t understand why the first clerk was against moving us.
**Misleading Property Description:**
- The hotel is advertised as an ocean view property, but it is actually located next to the freeway, nowhere near the ocean.
Hotel Condition:
- The condition of the hotel is rapidly deteriorating, with visible mold and peeling paint.
Overall, this was one of the worst Hilton experiences I have ever had. I would highly recommend finding a different establishment to stay at.

Easy acess to freeway and nice view to ocean

My wife and newborn stayed at this hotel for a wedding. The first room they booked us in did not have a functioning air conditioner. We had to request to switch rooms and they were able to accommodate us.

Gone for years to this location. First time charging a parking fee, and hot tub was broken. Overall stay was good.

We really enjoyed our stay at the property. Parking was easy and plentiful and the staff was awesome. This hotel is a 5 minute drive to the state beach. There’s about 7 restaurants in walking distance.

I tend to stay in places that I know have a free breakfast included; this one did not disappoint. Room was very clean. Decor(wall paper) starting to show age as the edges were peeling up. Must be a CA thing to charge for parking...

The AC in our room was broken, the toilet would only flush 20 minutes apart from another flush, the lock on the bathroom was broke, and there was mold in the shower ceiling and corner. Staff was rude, would not stay again.

My flight was cancelled due to severe weather in Houston , both Expedia and Hilton didn’t help me and continue to charge me full price , I ask for the next day stay and Expedia told me to book a new room and zero discount and zero credit for the hotel cancel. No mercy from Hilton or Expedia

Not so good. Freeway is right outside your door and it is very noisy. The spa is not hot and mot maid service for 3 days. Not worth the price. Parking costs extra

This was our second stay we really enjoyed the 1st time. This one both TV's didn't work due to connection it was sporadic and finally worked on 3rd day, no hot water for 2 days.

The hotel was mostly empty. Booked a last minute room via hotels.com - given a handicapped room with terrible shower with lukewarm water at best. Bathroom was unclean and had some water along base of shower location. Overall felt very unclean. Usually love Hampton Inns but this one was truly the worst I have been in.

A great hotel the staff was very friendly and helpful. A top stay in San Clemente

I’m very happy with my room and the staff was great. I’m on the golf course side so it’s very quiet

One of the major factors in choosing the hotel was their jacuzzi. It didn't work. The lady at the front said "it's in a permanent state of being repaired". What?
The rooms with two beds have double beds, not queen beds. Super small and uncomfortable, also old - so make lots of noise.
A single elevator, stairs are in an uncomfortable location.
The washer/dryer in the lobby are only operated with quarters.
No EV charger on site.

The staff was super friendly, but our room on the 3rd floor (which we were told was one of the best rooms they had lol) was hot one minute and cold the next and then extremely hot and then cold, so maintenance came, but it took forever and multiple calls. The shower was falling apart and making a whistle noise whenever we showered. The spa was not working, but you only found out when you attempted to go in, there was zero signage, the outside pool area was dirty and the furniture has bird poop on it.

Paper thin walls. HVAC system did not work at all. Room was hot with no windows to open. The front desk was absolutely no help and unwilling to fix the issue.

It was okay for the price

Giselle was the receptionist when we checked in. She was on the phone helping a customer for about 13 minutes. Because I was tired from a long trip, I decided to sit down, when there was another customer that already checked in and needed some coffee. Instead of helping me which got there first, she started helping the male customer came after me, and took the coffee sachet he needed.
When my turn came, she did not apologize for letting my family waited for about 20 minutes.
The hotel needs to train the receptionist a better manner.
Definitely, Giselle was not a good rep for the hotel.
