Hotel in good location and staff is nice. We chose this hotel for the swimming pool but unfortunately we could not use it. A few days before the checkin, we asked how we could book access but received no response. At the hotel, we were instructed to go to the spa reception to make the booking. The day was full but the nice lady at the spa managed to book us for the end of the day. However, when we went to the pool, the lifeguard refused us entry saying we did not having a booking. The spa reception was closed and he didn't have a list to check our names. It was not nice to be accused of lying just to use a pool.
The hotel itself is nice and the room is large. There was some mold on the bathtub door and the doors didn't close completely. Overall, we do not feel the stay is worth the price. We will chose another hotel next time.

We recommend booking a level room - it was an excellent facility and the staff there were wonderful. The tapas was excellent, as was the drinks. The room was nice with a beautiful view of the city and the air con was great. The pool set up was a bit weird with the reservations and mandatory caps (even if a man has no hair!) and was a bit of a let down for all that fuss - confusion over lockers, very little ambience, not amazing spa-like facilities. It’s really handy for public transport. everything else about our experience here was great - it’s very close to lovely squares for an evening drink in Malasaña.

Staff was very suspicious of people, security guard at the door. I've had better experiences at other 3, 4, 5 star hotels.

Really nice property. Lobby/restaurant/bar area is really nice. Room was a decent size but restroom and weird middle section thing seemed dated. Other than that, location was good. Walkable stores and dining options.

The AC needs to be colder
It was very hot in the room

Rooms are nicer than the RIU but do NOT have USB ports. Security is not as good as the RIU because someone can go to any floor with the room cards in the Melia and this cannot be done in the RIU. Breakfast is 25 times better in the RIU with much more choice and many buffets available

Initially we were in a standard room and it wasn’t even closed to a five stars hotel. Walls were dirty, curtains were ripped apart. We asked to be upgraded, and of course for a significant cost, the new room was outstanding! A completely different experience. Service was great all the time but definitely I would recommend the upgrade level.

Exquisite hotel - we stayed in a grand level room. Loved the little gifts we got each night (a bottle of liquer, a box of chocolates, a sleep kit, a luggage tag) plus lots of water and discounts. The room itself was huge, very modern and clean. They had thought of everything and positioned everything in the room where you would hope to have it. The only thing that I personally wasn’t so keen on was the glass door connecting the bath and shower to the rest of the room a) because it was see through and b) because my mum walked into it in the middle of the night! But everything else was so perfect, it’s a minor minor point. Staff incredible, The Level food was great and the restaurant was faultless. Was sad to leave!

This is NOT a 5 star hotel. More like a 3 star for lobby and 1.5 star for the rooms, pool and gym. All I do is stay in 5 Star hotels and this place is junk. The room is super old. The shower is terrible. Functions like a shower from the 50’s. The facility pictures are a scam. The pool is in the basement. Super small and makes you feel trapped. And on top of all that you need to call to make an appointment to use it!! You can’t even pay me to use it. The gym is worse than a prison gym. Super small in the basement. Hot and humid. No windows. It’s a death chamber. I can’t believe they think this is a 5 star. They don’t even deserve a 3 star. Oh yeah and the internet is 1MB download and upload useless. Can hardly check email let alone have business zoom calls. PLUS the hallways and rooms smell like MOLD! This hotel is a SCAM and should be ashamed of themselves!
UPDATE: They called trying to upgrade me to another room that was just as bad but bigger. Mold scent everywhere. My throat hurts. My clothes smell like mold. I haven’t slept. Completely trash!

The hotel felt high class, everything was great.
Friendly staff, luxurious lobby, spacious room, comfortable bed.
And great location with a subway and bus station just outside the hotel.
There was a strange smell in our family
room but it got better after I opened the windows and didn't notice it afterwards.

One of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed at. Amazing service from all the staff.
Room was spectacular!! Well worth the upgrade to Levels as well. The free drink, food and snacks was well worth it.

Great hotel near to Plaza España and La Gran Via. Perfect area to walk, dine and shop. Service at every area was remarkable good. Food and seevice at the restaurant are superior compared with other hotels.
