Really good value for money
The breakfast room was a little overrun at 10am on a Saturday morning
Wasn’t offered a seat and waited for ages and wasn’t offered a hot drink
Food okay
Rest of hotel was really good and good value for money

The room was lovely, the view was good. We abbot's the service, it was not over baring, but it was friendly, welcoming and efficient.
The only negative was the bath water was not hot enough, but otherwise a very enjoyable stay, with a good breakfast.

You lost this booking, and cancelled it, I was not able to stay at this hotel, I want a refund

Cold shower on the evening I arrived and the following morning due to boiler issue, not good!

Great location - always a good pint of Guinness.

Amazing

Nice place and location. But by the time you add up the room cost, parking cost, charge to use the pool (£20), I would have expected a little more. Suggestions would include a bottle of water left in the room, a bowl of fruit in the lobby and more friendly staff in reception who smile and are friendly. Although the Gentleman running the spa desk was friendly and very welcoming.

Some confusion at first on the room but Elenora made our stay exceptional in addition to the rest of the staff.

Spent one night in the hotel meeting friends for a Spa afternoon and meal. Very impressed with the Spa, restaurant and hotel. Room was very nice and bed was comfortable. Would recommend, and stay again.
2.5
Booking was straightforward and friendly, parking is restricted but they do have a overun option, hotel is fine , breakfast was just okay , coffee and water from jugs is not the best and self service food would run out before being replenished and not sure that a dog in the restaurant is good it didn’t have any indication it was a service dog

The property was understaffed in all areas. Once we'd finished our meal there wasn't an area for us to continue drinking! We were told we could go outside. There had just been a heavy thunderstorm! Other areas where we'd sat during previous visits were closed! Same scenario later that night. This hotel used to be comfortable and accommodating. Shame, because we've been coming here for years and each time we come, it gets. worse.

Great location, room view of construction, breakfast ok but not a great breakfast, average.
2.5
Lovely hotel & room. Check in was a little chaotic but other than that happy with everything.
It’s dog friendly at a cost of £10 per night.

Hotel is lovely really well situated, superbly appointed. However car park is small for size of hotel. Last but not least staff in restaurant need to smile bit more & engage with the guests to compliment such a nice place.

Not enough staff to serve Sunday breakfast. Breakfast was terrible, served in a room with no cleared tables, no cups, glasses or crockery. And not much food.
It should have been a highlight of the stay but was just a hastily constructed sausage sandwich.

Such a lovely hotel! Great location, deceptively quiet rooms and the spa was fantastic! Huge shoutout to Dan who was an absolute cherub, you can tell he truly cares.

I'm a maintenance engineer and usually go to hotels and see a load of poor maintenance and flaws. This place is well maintained, with high end details (Burlington taps as an example).
Great stay.

Shocking.
Registered car with reception, admittedly a trainee. 3 days later receive a £100 fine from the private company / muggers running the car park. Don’t bother trying to ring hotel no one ever answers

We had a wonderful afternoon tea when we stayed one night at The Bedford Swan for my mums 88th birthday.
The ambience was superb, the food delicious and the staff completely delightful making a fuss of my mum which we really appreciated. We would definitely do this again.
The hotel room was satisfactory for a one night stay. I was pleased to see a fridge in the room as it was a red hot day and cold drinks were welcome.
Or experience of our evening meal a the Pen & Cob however was a complete disaster. The food was substandard which the restaurant agreed with and took one of the dishes back to the kitchen and took another dish off the bill. They dealt with it well (and perhaps the kitchen was having a bad day) however as it was my mums birthday it was a particularly disappointing end of her day.
All in all our stay was fun and we would stay again despite
the experience in evening.

Lovely hotel great restaurant

Nice comfortable stay. Room was clean, bed very comfortable and staff were polite and attentive. My only gripe is that certain tv channels do not work (signal). I have had this issue before when staying here previously. They just need to retune freeview to get the Drama and 5USA channels.

Very helpful staff and always with a smile

Had a very pleasant stay, bed very comfortable & clean, staff were friendly, helpful & polite. Only stayed one night & hot tap in bathroom was not working but did not interfere with stay, just a bit annoying.
2.0
Room was pleasant but very hot due to the warm weather and the air conditioning would not go any lower than 19 degrees

Had a lovely stay at the Swan Hotel Bedford for the Riverside Festival weekend, managed to get a last minute booking at a good rate Room requests were noted & we could check-in super early. Lovely atmosphere in the outdoor terrace bar overlooking the river activities. Love the decor in the Pen & Cob Brasserie 😍

Stayed for five nights as we worked through some issues with our car. Bedford really convenient and Bedford Swan very convenient to convenience stores and takeaways. Lovely room, nice renovated bathroom. It does get busy in the weekends with weddings etc. so parking can be a bit tricky. But overall good stay. We had a few small issues with the room and they were dealt with quickly by staff. Would definitely stay again.

Was only there one night while waiting for car to be repaired. Lovely hotel with character and pleasant staff. Didn’t eat, drink or use the spa so .can't really rate them
1.5
So pros .. bed and pillows were nice , room was fairly clean and the breakfast looked good even though I
didn’t have too much of it
New modern refit looks good and check in and out were seamless . Fridge in the room was good albeit a little small
Cons the position of the room next to three store cupboards with doors constantly banging ,, overlooking the air con generaters that whirled all night , no bath , the fact the glasses were stored on top of the toilet which in my view is disgusting And the TV which had only half a dozen channels was hung on the wall wonky and no way of plugging a fire stick in the make up for the lack of channels provided .

Lovely decor in room and bathroom and so sparkling clean everywhere with stylush public areas. However parking is a problem with lumited and tight spaces. The breakfast quality looked good but it was all stone cold which was a real let down for what could have been a five star stay.

Lovely hotel in the town centre of bedford. A little awkward to get to around the one way system. Limited parking but enough if no weddings are on. Staff well presented and courteous. Rooms and interior decor are beautiful. Food was excellent from the brasserie. Only fault.. Get rid of the fake plastic palm trees in the brasserie (really spoils the character) along with the high tables or make the chairs taller. Great place and service all round
2.5
The room was nice enough but the bed could have been bigger. The communal areas, restaurants and spa were clean and nicely decorated.

Room was small & basic for £180 a night, expected something special for that price. Walls in the room were dirty & half the tv channels didnt work.
The rest of the hotel was beautifully done but the rooms seem neglected in comparison. More information about room service would of been great as the book in the room doesnt tell you this runs late into the night. Room service would of been great instead of a dirty takeaway ordered in. Staff were friendly though

The room was good and clean. Breakfast was also really nice. However, as the hotel was very busy there was no answer on room service and also we weren’t warned that our room was above the state room where a party was on until 12:30.

We had a wonderful stay whilst attending a concert at Bedford Park. The hotel was in walking distance to Bedford Park and was very well placed for various amenities. The hotel itself is beautifully decorated and clean, we very impressed! The only disappointment was that we were unable to order room service after waiting on hold for 20 mins without anyone picking up the phone. We did use the spa during our stay and it was a lovely relaxing environment with a pool with jets, one sauna and two steam rooms. I would recommend having someone at the desk at check in times as we were waiting for 5-10 minutes before someone came to check us in. I wouldn't visit the hotel for the spa, but it certainly was a nice bonus. Thank you for a lovely stay and I would look to stay here again if travelling to Bedford in the future.

Lovely hotel. The reception is gorgeous and smells wonderful. Lovely bar opposite the river.
The only moans were that the room we had 201 was so stuffy and so dark. It was a warm night and I found it hard to breathe as there's no a/c or a fan supplied and the window only opened 10cm which I realise is due to safety reasons but it's not comfortable at all. Also the on site parking is bad, so tight and I'm sure many cars have been scrapped trying to park there before. The car park isn't able to hold all the cars for the hotel and everyone visiting the bar, add onto that wedding guests! Quite chaotic.

Our room was a little run down and disappointing, no tea and coffee making facilities either. Our view was of a building site with workmen working and they could see through our room due to sheer net curtains due to their close proximity and we had to close the curtains to get dressed. The en-suite was lovely though, great shower, very clean.
Car parking was impossible due to tiny car park so we had to park in Lurke St car park which was roughly 8 mins walk away from the hotel. Hotel parking is free for customers, we had to pay for our parking and the receptionist wasn’t too helpful simply stating that on the hotel website it says there is no guarantee parking will be available.
Staff at the adjoining restaurant were very friendly and helpful.

Really nice stay. Room was as expected and described.
Location is great. A short walk to the town and a plethora of restaurants and a hot buffet breakfast overlooking the river wrapped things up nicely.
Will stay again.

The cleanliness and decorations, especially around the reception and breakfast area. Plus location was great

Everything was great, the room, was the right size for the time I spent, and a good breakfast choice
