I was traveling and needed a place to stay and exercise since I'd be on the road all day.
I looked at many hotels in the area and chose this one because the gym looked decent. Most hotels don't have much exercise equipment.
The gym was terrible. All the cardio equipment was broken. It was carpeted and smelled like it had never been vacuumed. The ice machine was in the room, so it generated heat and the smell of ozone.
I understand that most people don't care about the gym, but that's why I chose this place. I could've gone to a Super 8.
And that's all this place is. It's a dumpy motel. Don't let the tiki stuff fool you. I'm sure it's fun when it's packed, and people are partying at the pool, but there are better and cheaper places to stay in Palm Springs if you only want a room.
My experience with the big attractions, the heated pool and hot tub, wasn’t much better. I walked to them to find a drunk guy mumbling to himself. He could barely walk. Was he over-served? Did anyone check on him? He laid there, feet dangling in the hot tub, saddling talking to himself.
The manager was supposed to call me and never did.
Oh and mattress felt like it was purchased in the mid century. I have a bad back and this place did everything it could to prevent from doing my physical therapy and getting a good nights sleep.

Room was clean but could use some modern touches. Like showerhead for instance. Pool was cold. Problem with heater for 2 days. Wasn't given that info

Love this hotel! Great tiki vibe. It was super dog friendly, the pool and spa were awesome. The property and room were very clean. We loved the bar and the attached Mexican restaurant was also very good. Only issue was check in. The front desk person initaliy refused to check us in because hotel.com somehow had reservation under my birth last name rather than my married name. clearly my first and middle name were a match as well as I had the confirmation codes and emails. She said nope sorry can’t check you in and told me to call hotels.com who of course had no one to help me. Just a message “we are unavailable. She offered zero solutions and initially refused to call the manager . So we drove 3 hours only to be treated like we were trying to get something over on the hotel? I’ve booked with hotels, com multiple times and apparently under my birth ladt name and I’ve had zero issues with other hotels. Finally she called her manager (I literally had to demand I mean where were we susposed to sleep after we prepaid for the room and were traveling with our dogs. The manager had her check us in. I mean I get it the name thing but she was initially condescending and refused to help with zero empathy. But hotel was great ! I will not book with hotel.com in the future. It should be noted that my legal name was ,clearly in my hotel.com profile so I have no idea how my birth name was added to the reservation.

Great retro hotel and a MUST stay for tiki enthusiasts. The Reef bar attached to the hotel is fantastic and everything a tiki fan could want with kitschy decor/vibe and good drinks! Rooms were comfy and the AC was high powered. Highly recommend.

The food was delicious. The room was perfectly clean and the right temperature. Best music by the pool ever!

Pool and hot tub are great. I love the on-site restaurant. Even though I didn’t have a pet with me this time, glad to know they’re pet friendly! I love that they allow any pet— Not just dogs. That alone would be a reason for me to come back. The room was clean and comfortable, However, mine hairdryer, and the dispensers were out of shampoo and conditioner—those are things I have come to count in every hotel so I don’t have to pack them. I made do with what I had (luckily) bc once I’m settled in my room, I prefer not to have people in it to replenish things and it was just for a couple of nights. Overall, though the pros outweigh the cons!

Nice affordable motel that allows dog $25 a nite with a great pool and bar. unfortunately because it is reasonably affordable too many families with obnoxious kids in the pool

Mid century modern Tiki style and Reef tiki bar.

Absolutely loved our night at this hotel. Wish we’d stayed longer. The pool is open until midnight, so it’s perfect for a dip after a long hot day.

The property needs some refreshing. Uncomfortable bed and the AC has trouble keeping up with the heat during the day. Wonderful staff, the attached restaurants and bar are awesome. The pool is great with awesome decor.

The property was nice but the room is really dated and had an old house smell. I couldn't sleep in the bed and stayed in another hotel nearby.

The room was not even equivalent to a motel 6. It was baldly decorated, i had read reviews about a funny smell that I wish I paid more attention to. That smell is a roach bomb that was let off in the room and the room was never aired out thoroughly. We found 4 large dead roaches in our room that I’m sure came out of hiding to die. The toilet ran the entire time. The shower head was not tightened on top so it sprayed water everywhere. There was no soap in the dispenser either so we just used shampoo. The bed side table was falling off. We had the AC set at 61 because it was so hot and it got down to around 76 in the room. The tiki bar outside has good drinks but they were about $18 a piece and the food was o oh good if you like deep fried. Sanchos, the other restaurant was terrible. My husbands steak fajita was sad and overcooked and fried and my taco salad was so wet and sloppy. The pool is good but the lounge chairs are cheap. I can tell they are trying to reach the tiki theme but overall this is nowhere near a 4 star property.

Great spot for a fun pool day and 2 restaurants on site. Tiki bar food just okay. Room was out of shampoo and body wash in the dispensers. Housekeeping should check that before renting the room. Also, only one coffee packet in the room.

The pool is fantastic, lots of seating and plenty of room. Huge hot tub if thays your thing. Our room was clean, however, it needed some work. Our mini fridge was completely iced over and not cooling any of our drinks, they did replace it as soon as we called the front desk. The walls in our room had major chips in the paint, craks in the walls and the wall paper was peeling significantly in some areas. This hotel would be awesome if the time was taken to renovate and repair.

I like that they had restaurants on the property and the food was good. I also liked that the pool was very clean.

Decent pool area and ok rooms for an independently run motel. Friend's room on west side of motel had broken A/C, as did apparently all other units on that side. I assume the issue is that they booked them through Expedia rather than directly with the motel, but if half of your facility has no A/C in 115 degree heat then those units should be removed from all online booking software. Not a terrible experience, but also not sure I'd come back in the future.

We arrived at 7:00pm, it was 107 in Palm Springs. The A/C in the upper floor room was off, room temperature was about 95. We turned it down to 62, left for two hours to have dinner, but was still over 90 when we returned around 9:00. It was obvious the room wouldn’t going to cool to a point where we could sleep, so we checked out. They offered us a suite, but the quality and cleanliness of the room didn’t meet our expectations to begin with, so we decided to drive an additional 4.5 hours to our home in Phoenix. We had already driven over five hours from Solvang, to Huntington Beach, then to Palm Springs, so it was pretty bad.

The proper overall was dated and old. The plumbing was terrible. It took minutes for the water to fully hot down after a shower or use of the sink.

The staff at this hotel is really nice. Plus they’re honest. On our way out we made it down the road and they called staying we left our iPad and laptop on the table… I have no idea how we missed grabbing those high value items. I really appreciate them reaching out and returning those to us. Its nice to know they have genuinely good people working at their hotel.
My one issue with this hotel room is the layout. The a/c unit is in the bathroom area and half of the bathroom area is blocked off by a wall/partition. So the a/c barely makes it to the beds. Before we went to bed we set the air to 68 and when we woke up it was at 80 degrees. We were sweating bullets alllllll night.

Took my son to celebrate his 12th birthday in Palm Springs so we stayed at this hotel and we loved it! Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Only thing I would change is the heated pool during the summer, the water was too warm especially for the 120 degree weekend we spent 😅 but I would definitely stay again! Also loved the tiki bar (The Reef) at the hotel.
