To start off they did not have my reservation and no rooms were available. It was unbelievably hot & humidity was at 89. We were not offered any water as they tried to resolve the issue. Front desk service felt like I was at the DMV. After showing them proof of my reservation 45 minutes later they game me a room. There are 3 elevators for the entire hotel 1 was not working and they are small with a weight limit. There were so many people staying there and a long line as only 4 people fit in the elevator. Walking up stairs was not an option as we were on the 9th floor. Needless to say we ALWAYS took it to go down 9 flights otherwise we'd be waiting over 15 minutes to go down. The all-inclusive drinks were a joke. I am a light weight when it comes to drinking, I had 3 at the pool at not even buzz. To get a pool towel was like buying a car! They literally have a book were again at sloth speed write down your name, room number and once you hand them a pool key card they write done a serial number on this old faded unraveled edge towel that felt like sandpaper. The buffet was mediocre. They take reservations for 3 of their restaurants at 9am everyday so if you have earlier plans forget about it! The corner sheet became undone on our bed and the mattress was unbelievably disgusting! The shower would stop. On last night I got a note that the AC would be getting maintenance from 8am to 9pm! Remember the weather was humid and hot! I about lost my mind. This was thee worst hotel ever!

Not the best experience overall. Very poor choices for food. There were only three elevators for the entire hotel which two of them were only working most of the time allowing only 5 people at a time. While showering the water kept shutting off. The AC was not fully working at some point it seemed as it was turned off. I tend to travel 3/4 times a year. Definitely not a place I would visit again.

The pool is way too crowded.
drinks felt weak and watered down.
views were great.

First time staying here. I got a room in the 11th Fl. They only have 3 elevators 1 was out of service. The elevators doesn’t have A/C so you feel suffocated and they take long. The pool is warm and dirty with all the kids in it. They don’t have an ice machine or a refrigerator in the room the food is not great. The worse part is that I didn’t have water the next morning! I wouldn’t stay here again.

I liked the option to add breakfast buffet as part of our stay, made our mornings run smooth. In addition, our kids really enjoyed the water slide and having a lifeguard on for the entire time was a plus for peace of mind... hotel is beautiful but pool is a bit small as it was vacation time and hotel fully booked...

Catering more to the local population; poor English language skills. Food services had gone down hill since the last time I was there.

I paid for 1 night in Expedia but the hotel also charged me for the same night. No wash cloth, frayed towels, but biggest problem was no hot water. I talk to the front desk twice. Water was probably 75 degrees. I understand I am in Mexico but very few employees could speak English. Stayed 7 days prior at annother hotel and almost all employees could speak English. Had to extend my stay by 3 days but changed with in hours to 2 extra days. Had fantastic massage but I would never stay at this resort again too many other nice hotels in the area. This was our third year staying in Ixtapa.

Travelers be wary. We got the all inclusive option, but it’s not what it seems. They will nickel and dime you at every turn, even if you’ve bought in to their all inclusive option.
We needed some extra water and they charged us for more water bottles that you bring up to your room. At dinner we were watching the SuperBowl in one of the restaurants. The food was free but canned beer was not included. Another example of this was when we checking out. We were missing an electronic key for pool towels, and they wanted to charge is $37US for this missing plastic key. (600 pesos). Thankfully, ended up finding the missing key in my mom’s purse.
The food was okay to good tasting. Service in the restaurants was good. Works were stay here again? Probably not. They didn’t seem to care about new travelers becoming loyal customers.
Many workers do not speak fluent English. If you only speak English then you may have a difficult time having a conversation with some staff.

Is not fully all inclusive you have to pay for water and other essentials.

We reserved a superior room and ended up getting a standard. They say that they provide down comforters but all it is a thin sheet. There was not any toiletries provided as it states. We arrived at 2 pm and pre checked in. The front desk said to come back at 4 which we did and we're told there was no rooms available yet. So we had to continue to wait. I believe that if you have a reservation and you know someone is checking in that's already been paid for you should have that room available that they requested. I have stayed at many hotels some I would like to go back to but this hotel I will not return to or recommend to friends or family.

We have stayed multiple times in Ixtapa / Zihua in the past and are both bilingual and have family in the area.
Pros: Staff, cleanliness, pool, view, location
Cons: Food, drinks, guests blocking chairs early and none available, the rooms lack basic necessities ie blankets, blow dryer, iron.
Other: the hotel does offer day passes which can cause the pool to be way too crowded on weekends. Drink selection was terrible if you like a certain beer and there was no wine. The staff did however go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Special shout out to Marco and Javier at pool and Josefina at the breakfast buffet

Need more umbrellas and new outdoor chairs around the pool. Need more wash cloths! New curtains with updated colors in the Jr suites. Need someone at the counter to speak better English

The location was excellent to the center of Ixtapa and the beach. The resort was noisy at night and we had difficulty sleeping. The breakfast was good. I think we are not resort people and probably should not be staying at an all inclusive tesort.

The only conveniences provided were soap, shampoo and conditioner. There was no coffee pot, no chairs on the balcony and the room was bare. There was a bed, one chair, one night stand and a TV on a dresser. The floor was 12 x12" white tile and the room felt empty. For $500/night, one expects a few more comforts.

What I did not like. No hair dryer in the room. No refrigerator in the room. Had to ask several days to leave a coffee packet in the room. The patio door in Rm 314 needs help. Very hard to open and close. The chest of drawers needs help. The drawers do not work properly. No chairs on the patio. Curtain and drapes have tears. Liked. The best water pressure in sink and shower and the water was hot. Plenty of chairs around the pool and on the beach. Great exercise room. Nice view from the room. Short walk to shops in Ixtapa. It would have been nice if more of the signs and notices would have been translated into English.

Staff here is very nice and healthful. The guests here are very nice too. We had no hot water to shower with the entire stay. However, the water in the sink was boiling hot. AC went out once. Water shut off for a few hours. The pool at this hotel is beyond gross. They do not clean it. Sand is at the bottom. Paper floats in the pool. Leaves. Trash debris. I swear I had the dry heaves the last day here. The pool I think has no filters or system to clean it. And the pool guys are not cleaning this pool each day, it is not up to American/Canadian standards for sure.

This was advertised as a 3 star hotel ALL INCLUSIVE. IT WAS A FILTHY NASTY PLACE. We had to stay 1 night there. No wash cloths, thread bare towels, filthy floors & counters, & not any inclusive, and much more. We checked out the next morning and they would not reimburse us for the nights not spent. I ask the manager the night before to make up for the disaster but he ignored me. Checking out the next morning he offered all I ask for the night before. It was to late! We did not travel to Ixtapa to stay in a dump. Expidia was no help at all and we will never use them again. Avoid the Krystal Ixtapa at all cost. And do not trust expidia for anything.

Beaches are beautiful but it could be unsafe, it’s open sea, there is no shallow waters there.
The hotel is older themed, open and you feel the outside temperatures throughout the entire hotel. The waiters were extremely helpful, housekeeping kept things nice, clean everyday. We choose an all inclusive experience, that includes 3 “high end gourmet experiences” the Bogart, Paseo de Mexico, & an Italian tour.
Lastly, two an all you can eat buffets, unlimited drinks, alcohol beverages. However, all restaurant locations seems to share the same food options, same types of deserts, same flavors, with the exception of Bogart all are overall good. But with a 5 day stay, we were tired of the same tastes. Before booking for all inclusive I recommend you ask if there is a dress code! We didn’t know better! Turns out you must dress casual formal. We spent extra money buying formal shoes. And I had to speak with different hotel member to excuse my special needs son dress code; we were being turned away from reserving at the gourmet restaurants. Oh yea’ you must reserve every morning before 11am your gourmet dinner experience for that same day.
We had a bad reaction after eating at Bogart, my child and I got so sick to our stomachs with cramps, diarrea on the 2 day of our stay.
Concierge gave us two Starbucks vouchers to use in the hotel for inconvenience. When we attempted to use them, we were limited on our selection to only coffee, teas over ice. No Fraps, no blended drinks.

Very disappointed with dining at the resort. Nothing was open and what was was terrible! Great that dining was available close. The property was nice and well maintained but could use a little restoration. Elevators need to be updated. Very nice swimming area; Well kept and staff was great! But the food could really improve!!

We’ve stayed here many years. We had lots of small ants in the room. Very few outlets to plug things in. Had to call the front desk for an extension cord for husbands Cpap machine. The food at the pool area isn’t the best. Josephina the server around the pool was exceptional. All in all was a great value and will stay there again.
