Pool was green. Maids knocked 8am beating on door. To add a guest name to room is $22 for Husband to check in who beat me there. Was hung up on by reception. Will never return.

This hotel was sort of a disaster. The elevator did not work. The bathroom smelled horrible. The toilet paper holder was broken. The ladies at the front desk at check in were not very friendly. It felt very dirty.

I like Dave at the front desk. He’s accommodating, patient, kind& understanding of those who could use a hand. He is one stand out employee. That says a lot considering I have traveled daily since October 2, 2023, yet to “be back home.” Yet, there is always a nights check in time to say hello to the best staff member Hilton has! That’s the best part of this hotel. I would not know what else to complement on; I’m glad it seems repairs & updates are starting! Yay!!!

Checked in and the room they assigned us had not been cleaned. Bed was unmade and a cup on the table. Second room they assigned us was extremely hot as the AC wasn’t working. Carpet was wet from the condensation. Went to the staff and they made me feel stupid by assuming we didn’t know how to work the AC. They never came and checked it. The room was very warm all night. DO NOT STAY HERE.

I complained a few times that there is a big pile of dirty sheets left outside the front of my room door. Nobody ever came to pick them up.
The bed was comfortable. The room seem clean. The building is just old. The elevator smells awful.
The breakfast was pretty awful too. If I would’ve paid $89 or $90 for this room, it would’ve been OK. But I paid 150 $160. I should’ve gone elsewhere .
However, was a great location! Really close to the summit shopping area with a ton of things to eat and by the botanical gardens. And right off the highway.

Great service. They are getting to upgrade facility, so it will even better.

1st off, the receptionist working the counter when I checked in was absolutely the nicest person I ever met. Treated us with respect and kindness. We checked in late because we went to the wrong Hotel. The area was located in a nice quiet area. The issue was our door to our hotel room wouldn’t ahut all the way. You had to wake the entire hotel up just to close the door. The AC unit would shut completely off when it hit its set temperature. I had to get up at 2:00am-2:30am each morning to turn it on because of sweating so bad. Rhe xwalls and the doors on the our floor were filthy dirty or stained. With that said It wouldn’t make my top 4 places in Birmingham, Al to stay. I give it a 2 1/2 just because the 1st night we were treated with respect.

This was a great location to get to the family functions I need. The staff were great. Hotel was clean and clean smelling. This was a comfortable experience.

The property was extremely run down for a Hampton Inn. It was totally in need of a total rehaul. From top to bottom. It felt even unsafe. The transformer even blew. We were not even offered a breakfast due to it and no refund. It was a disgrace to the name.

Light in room didn’t work

Sink was cracked, no fridge and bathtub needed a good cleaning

Room is tiny…breakfast not tended to (out of several items ) had to wait to be replenished then it shut down. This facility is not worth the money

The Hampton Inn was just fantastic! Would definitely stay again!! Delightful in every way!!

We had two queen rooms which were old and outdated. One of them spelled terrible. The breakfast food was awful. $130 per room is overpriced for the poor quality.

This hotel needs a total over haul. It was dirty in every area. Mountain Brook is such a nice area that I cannot believe Hampton inn hasn’t kept this place in nice conditions. Good thing is that a new Residence Inn is being built down the way.

I was in Mountain Brook for a funeral. I had to deal with a terrible winter storm. Staff was very helpful and made sure I had extra food and water for my drive. They went over and beyond….nice folks.

It’s was ok.

It’s fine. Expectations weren’t super high.
Good location, nice staff, seemingly clean. Only real negative is the overbearing perfume smell throughout the hotel. But I think it’s like that to help cover up the smell of heavy marijuana use. So to summarize… lots of strong smells but not a terrible place to crash for a night.

Previous guests’ leftovers were left in the fridge, trash beside the bed and under the couch. There was a drunk guy in the hallway at 2:00am screaming obscenities because the power went out and the elevators were out of order. No visible staff when we tried to check out. It’s an affordable option, but we would never stay there again.

Such a comfortable night's sleep, and so many smiling faces at the desk and at breakfast! This is why we choose Hampton ❤

Great location in mountain Brook. Staff is friendly. Nothing at the hotel works. All the doors sick heat units didn't work. The place is under renovation and it's loud and dusty.
2.0
The hotel has renovations going on, which is fine. Check in was an issue. Close to midnight, no one in line, took 20 minutes. Employee, who was extremely nice, had no idea what she was doing. Still didn't when I left. She discovered someone had already made keys and gave them to me. Air conditioner didn't work properly, which made for a difficult sleep. Can't get checked in, can't get decent sleep, hard to be content with the stay.

Booked a double room. Got to the hotel and they didn’t have any doubles. After 15 minutes of juggling things around, they managed to find a double bed room. Then we get to the room and use our key card to get in and the reader didn’t work. After 3 different trips down to the reception desk and 3 different room cards, they finally came upstairs and found that the door lock needed recharged. We were not offered a different room in the meantime. To top it off, the a/c didn’t work. The following morning we went to eat breakfast and the juice machine didn’t work. Normally that’s no problem at all, but it was the cherry on top of our stay. Worst hotel we’ve used to date.

This is an older property operated by Hampton Hotels. but its location provides easy access to all of Downtown Birmingham and the multitude of locations south of the city. The rooms and hotel are clean and comfortable and the staff always helpful.

Front desk staff is terrific. What kept it 3 stars was wifi was not working the 4 nights I was there. That’s not good

Reasonable price, friendly staff, conveniently located.

Great area but hotel is worn and tired

This hotel should NOT be categorized as a Hilton property. It is very outdated, dirty/torn carpeting throughout and shoddy workmanship to attempt to bring up to speed. Altough location is convenient to college, we will not be staying there again.
2.0
Cleanliness was poor. Toilet was clogged and we had to ask for a plunger to do it ourselves and use lobby bathroom. Needs better management.
6.0
Water leaking from somewhere. Poor craftsmanship on renovation. The customer ahead of me checking had their reservation cancelled for some unknown reason. The counter person was a moron in figuring out a solution. The poor elderly couple rented another available room at full price, much more than what they had reserved. While all this was going on I could have booked on Expedia for $104 plus taxes. They paid close to $200. Back to me, the carpet is filthy. I was barefoot in the room, got in the shower and the water turned black. The breakfast is lacking and they ran out of coffee and orange juice at 8 a.m.

When we got there we were told that we had no room. Very unhappy and I can’t fill everything in because of that.
