Loved my stay! Was located on the 5th floor and the view was great! Happy to have access to elevator and free parking! The only thing that I disliked were the pillows. They were really flat.

Right across the street from yacht club.

Got there just after check in time and was greeted nicely and put in a room with lake views even though I didnt pay for the upgrade. Everyone in the staff was nice and friendly. We had a great stay and many restaurants were very close by within 500 feet of the hotel. I will go again at some time.

Verified Red Roof Inn but the view is amazing. Great for a few nights stay.
3.8
The room was clean however the bed was flat and stale same with the bedding and pillows.
The room does not have air conditioning nor a fan. If you leave the window open you will hear the traffic.
Great location and clean room though. If they would just updated the bed and bedding.

This place is a low end but expensive motel not worthy of even an overnight stay. There is one broken elevators for staff and guests for several floors and you can hear a very loud boiler room noise right under your bed. It was impossible to get any sleep. No breakfast is included in the price and you need to wal to a restaurant to get breakfast for $20 per person. Add this to your cost. Shower shoots had of its water to the ceiling in a tight shower space.

First of all no AC at all....Thank god I gravelled in early sep not sure about anyone who travels between May to Aug...2 queen bed but only 1 table fan. The front desk has not even shared the wifi details as part of check in checklist. The cleaning lady entered in our room before we checked out. The bathing shower has very low pressure. The front desk lady was too talketive. Lastly I was overcharged on my credit card as compare to my booking amount.

Bit tatty.

View from 7th floor (outside front door) looking towards Lake Tahoe was super, must be the tallest building in Tahoe City! Freddy in office very knowledgeable and nice, we enjoyed talking to him about history of area.
3.8
There was road construction all night. I know it’s not there fault but it would have been nice to know we wouldn’t be getting any sleep.
3.8
Very nice place. Obviously understaffed, but the staff did everything they could to make us feel welcomed
3.8
The room was fine.
We were not informed that there was night construction going on right outside our room. Jackhammering lasted from 8pm-midnight. Backup alarms and equipment was running until 6am and we did not get much sleep.
With the hotel would have informed us of the construction and giving us earplugs.

Descent place to stay. Very small room but it worked. Convenient to restaurants and the lake is right across the road. If you visit in the summer, know there is no air conditioning just a little table fan. We left our windows open to pull the air thru. The nights were cooler so it wasn’t that bad. The guy at the check in desk was very nice and answered all my ?’s.

Great price for a little spot right by the lake, easy to walk to lots of different dining and drinking options. Thanks for a lovely stay!

I don’t even have time in my life to get into all the details of how bad our experience was at this hotel. We paid $250/night for a tiny room with no ac or ventilation. I tried calling the hotel 5 times before check in to ask for a late check in and no one answers the phone, the voicemail says they only have the office open from 3pm-10pm due to staffing issues??? Even after 3 pm no one answers.. The room was hot and stuffy, and then they started doing road construction right outside the hotel in the middle of the night. Since we had to leave our window open for any sort of relief from the heat, we had to listen to Jack hammering all night. Everything is completely run down. Would never stay again or recommend this place. Go somewhere else! $250/night is highway robbery for this trash hole!

They were doing road construction all night and it there is no AC and unfortunately it did keep us up all night listening to it. Otherwise we were too hot
3.8
No air condition, bathroom was dirty, window did not open. Room had a strong odor and was warm. Fan did not really help
3.8
Simple room, helpful friendly staff, wonderful view of Lake Tahoe, close to shops an restaurants

We used to stay here years ago and it was nice, good value and centrally located. Now only centrally located. The best part about this location was the checkout process. The room had two double beds in a 12x13 ft room. The beds were so uncomfortable that the floor was an alternative. Like sleeping on a saggy cardboard box with springs. No AC which is usually fine, but it was so noisy outside, all night long due to road work that it was too hot to sleep with windows closed. But I doubt that would have helped much anyway. For. Almost 200 per night the quality is more. Like a 50 per night accommodations. The hotel is in decline with dirt filling most of the pool. For that matter, Tahoe City has lost all charm and is now just a tourist spot. After so many years making this my go to getaway, I will be taking my family elsewhere. Food is double the price. At least service is decent, but with portions cut in half for most places and double the cost in all places you really need to rethink your trip. We liked Jake's and the Bridgetender restaurants the best. Good breakfast at Fire Sign and Rosey's cafe.
So, at your own risk, by the way all businesses but resturants seemed to close @3:30 pm daily during the week, not sure about weekends. If your gonna go to Tahoe City, spend the extra money and get a place with a kitchen to offset the incredibly high food prices.

Convienent, comfortable and in town.
3.8
Great placement. No frills.

Place is very outdated. The elevator doesn't seem it should pass inspection. The beds are very uncomfortable and for the price definitely not worth the stay.
3.8
There is no air conditioning, and I have to open the window, and a big loud noise outside, I did not rest

Would not recommend staying at this hotel property.
Upon check-in, we found that the previous guest or a staff member had left the heat on full blast in our hotel room, despite it being the middle of summer. To make matters worse, the property does not have air conditioning, which would have been fine if the heating was not left on in the room. This situation made the room unbearably hot and uncomfortable.
I immediately brought this to the attention of your staff, but unfortunately, my concerns were met with unresponsiveness and a lack of support. There was no assistance offered to help make the temperature in the room more bearable, and to add to the frustration, there is no staff available after 10 PM for any major issues.
Despite the mistake and the uncomfortable conditions, we were charged full price for the room and the staff barely even acknowledge the issue. This level of service is disappointing and I won’t not recommend staying at this property in the future.

Older property in good location but no air conditioning in any room, very dated decor and bats flying around outside the door. Yikes!
3.8
No AC. Dirty room and bed sheets. Windows were not secure and needed to open for fresh cool air.
3.8
The room was clean, but there was no AC and the toilet was not flushing properly other then that it was ok

The service was excellent, but 90% of the communication was through text or email. Hotels.com listed check-in at 3pm, but upon arriving at 2:45pm, we were informed by Peppertree that check-in was at 4pm. This was frustrating because of our other scheduled events, but they did allow us to park in their lot until check-in time.
The room was clean, but did not have A/C, which I thought was an included accommodation according to Hotels.com.
The beds were harder than we expected, and the pillows were not very plush. It was nice and clean, and overall it was a nice stay. We are not sure if we would choose Peppertree again, but that is mostly based on the location of our annual event.

This property is in a great location. Walking distance to the lake and many shops/restaurants around the area. This hotel, well, you get for what you pay. Pretty affordable. The nightstand outlets weren’t working to charge our devices, we tried to adjust the cables by the outlets and the whole outlet came out and sparked. It was pretty dangerous. Be aware: this hotel does not have AC, there’s only a heater unit. There’s a fan but during the summer, it felt really hot. WiFi never worked in the hotel. There were two networks that the hotel provided but none worked. Kept disconnecting. So we stopped trying on the second day and used our own hotspot instead. Again, great location but a low budget hotel. If you’re trying to save money, this is the place to book.

What was unique about the property was everything is walkable..

No AC was bad enough. But the window in the bathroom had no screen so bugs got in. Then we were harassed about checking out. They knocked on our door at 8:30am (11am checkout). I told them we weren't checking out yet. They texted and emailed multiple times about checking out. Then when I took some luggage to the car and went back up they had opened the door to the room and started cleaning it, even though I had more stuff in the room. When I mentioned we weren't done with the room they didn't apologize. This was before 11am still.

Air conditioning would have been nice

Wonderful location
3.8
Basic place with limited amenities, but well-located and cheaper than most. Still operating under paranoid COVID policies in 2024, as literature in room rationalizes lack of housekeeping service due to “these challenging times.” Biggest problem is absence of A/C, which means both windows must be kept wide open to catch what cross-breeze you can, leading to (1) severe lack of security from parking lot and (2) noise from loud people talking and beeping horns late into the night in front and people dumping garbage into the dumpster in back. I’m a sound sleeper but it was a challenge here. Probably would not stay here again except in cold weather, when I can keep windows closed.

Nice view

They need AC ...
3.8
The hotel was very overpriced. The room and especially the elevator were dirty. The staircase needs repair.
We had the bad luck to stay on two very hot nights, and we slept badly in our hot, stuffy room without A/C.. There were no services. The hair dryer did not work. The view was very nice. the towels were old and several had holes. The location is convenient.
3.8
This hotel is in such disrepair that I am shocked it is still open. The best part was the young man checking us in was delightful. We stayed here because we had to come up for the day to attend a memorial service.

I like location .
But we don have air conditioning.

Room was clean. There is no AC during the summer. No pool. For a one night stay the room was fine.
