Perfectly pleasant. The check in was a little bumpy (bored and inattentive desk clerk) but otherwise just fine.

We always stay at the Kahler Grand Hotel when attending appointments at Mayo Clinic. The hotel is very accommodating, clean, comfortable and centrally located. We love the safe environment and ease of walking to restaurants and access to the clinic.

Rm 1058 was sub-par for this hotel. Bed and pillows were not comfortable. Bathroom was extremely small with no place to put anything down, even a toothbrush. Shower head was low. Water temperature in shower was uneven. Gap under door to adjoining room had a huge gap at the bottom and they were noisy. Light also streamed in under the door to hallway. We'll return to this hotel due to its proximity to Mayo Clinic Gonda Building, because we've had good experiences in the past. We'll just be sure to book straight with the hotel and specify our room preferences.

The hotel is in great need of renovation. Beautiful bldg but the room wasn’t. Our heat didn’t work at first. They came a couple times to try to repair

The roo. We had was very much in need of a face lift. The bed was too firm, room was hot, batroom was small. The shower was very difficult to maintain the water temperature, it was scolding hot or freezing cold, it took a lot of effort to make it tolerable. Location was very convenient to the Mayo Clinic. However this will not be our first choice on our next visit.

Thin towels, stuff not working, thin bedding, old dated

Amazing place to stay near Mayo Clinic

Older facility but well maintained. Dried drywall compound on heater vent in room 342. Unsightly but room was comfortable.

Very nice hotel and convenient location next to Mayo Clinic. Walkable.
Valet parking was used as we came in late and no parking in the lot was available, so we greatly appreciated the service.
I had an appointment at 11:00 AM and checkout was at noon. We were able to secure our luggage and leave our vehicle parked until after my appointment which was late afternoon. VERY CONVENIENT! Thank you for going above and beyond to make sure our stay was good and the fact that we didn’t have to worry about anything else other than my appointment.

Location was great for our trip to The Mayo Clinic. Hotel was clean and staff was friendly.

My room was freezing. I called the front desk twice and after over two hours I had to go downs to complain in person. They switched me to another room. That room was also cold but after an hour I could at least feel it warming up. After that it was pleasant.
3.0
Upon entrance it appears upscale, staff was welcoming. The room was dated not the cleanest.
4.0
The room was nice and clean. The pool was amazing, having to go up one elevator then up a flight of stairs to get there was strange, but not a desk breaker. We planned on getting dunkin donuts and it was under renovation, so that was unfortunate. The entrances to/from the garage didn't give the same sense of safety as the rest of the property.

Good place to stay for Mayo appointments.

Kahler hotel is great

We checked into the Kahler late afternoon. The room we were given was more recent renovation. We got ready for bed and noticed the hot water in the sink wasn't very hot but didn't think about it again. The blackout blinds were not attached to the top of the window opening so it was like very light all night long.
We woke up in the morning with plans of showering and taking off as we had a schefule to keep. There was no hot water in the shower! NONE. We call maintenence and he came up, without tools, and checked the hot water or lack of hot water. He said it felt about 95 degrees. This is the time of day (morning) with high demand. He thought we should change rooms to shower. We were pressed for time already so a quick rinse and we had to pack up and get on the road. At the front desk, I told the shift supervisor about the lack of hot water. She said it was our fault for not changing rooms the night before. We didn't know there would be no hot water in the morning but it seems we were at fault.

Older building, so the rooms are on the smaller side, but still adequate size and decorated nicely. Tile in bathroom is painted, but wearing in some places. Bathtub/shower was a bit tight. Enjoyed our stay, nice hotel.

Rooms are old, shower height is only about 5 feet tall. They are clean and comfortable. Staff was hard to find when getting car from valet. Valet was only 25 dollars.

Wonderful place to stay when coming to Mayo.

Room has been updated but not completely. Bathroom tub had very dated faucets and mixing was all but impossible, either very cold or very hot. Dangerous for seniors visiting Mayo Clinic. Room was very cold when we entered the room and even with the thermostat set at its highest level remained uncomfortable.

I would say that the word GRAND is used in a more nostalgic way and not that the hotel is grand. There is a way to keep a certain vibe, but the way it's done is just old and needs to be updated.
The rooms are super small. You can barely get in the bathroom and shut the door.
Parking stalls in the ramp are so close together that you can't get in or out of your car.
When I went up to my first room, I found the door opened. the woman at the front desk was very understanding and told me that she didn't want me to stay in that room and I thank her for that. but the 2nd room had the bath tub filled which was strange.

Hotel did a terrible job on cleaning. Was there for 4 days and wasn’t cleaned very good. Left dirty dishes in the room after they supposedly cleaned. Wouldn’t go back there.

Fix the TV reception.
Very frustrating.

Great location. Love the Ruths Chris and Caroll's Corn right inside the hotel. The rooms are older (some have been renovated). The air conditioning was loud, but the staff and service were great. Happy Hour and fresh lemon and lime water in the lobby were also a nice touch.

Took over 15 minutes to get hot water (evening and morning). Diverter on tub spout did not work so no shower.

Glad i only had to stay 1 night as the beds are not good. But location is very nice. Take the elevator right down to the subway to mayo clinic.

Disastrous!

The road construction made it difficult to know where to park or check in. The signage needed to be better.
3.0
The room was in serious need of a refresh. Bed was great, but the bathroom is old and looks dingy. The towels were not just worn, they were actually torn and shredded. The pool was nice but there are other, better maintained hotels for the money.

Classic old hotel. Was in the middle of being remodeled so a little disorganized.

Opulent hotel. Very nice and helpful hotel staff. Nice rooms, lots of food options. Parking is tough unless you valet. Great experience.

Attached to the Mayo Clinic which is great.
The room’s heat did not work and I was cold. Some came up promptly and told me to give it some time, but it never came on. It was fine when sleeping, but not when you weren’t in bed.

Reached 1130pm after long flight. I asked if there was any water to the hotel receptionist, he bkuntly said no, i was rather surprised by lack of amenities

Pretty hotel with a wonderful and clean pool area. The hotel smelled great in all areas.
6.0
The staff did not go out of their way to welcome you when we checked in on 9/4. There was not even a cup of coffee in the lobby which I think is cheap for the price of the room. The size of the room was very small compared to many other cheaper hotels we have stayed in over the years. Not one drawer to put any of your clothing items in for an extended stay.
