Arriving tired at 12:30am, I was given a room in which the bathroom ceiling was gone, framing and plumbing exposed with dust and spider webs, bath drain fixture was not installed directly exposing room to exterior, one side lamp did not work, TV would only show one channel (channel changer broken?) I could not use the shower. A terrible experience.

The location near the beach and near some great places to eat in Leucadia was great. The rooms are a little bedraggled, but clean. The beds were comfortable.

It is great that the room had a tub because I enjoy taking hot baths when away but the tub was so old its surface was flaking and they had no stopper to keep the water in so ---no hot tub only shower available. The carpet needs serious replacing and could really make a difference in feeling like you are in a nice hotel. The hair dryer did not work so I called the front desk and they wanted me to come down and get it but I wasn't dressed yet so I had to get dressed and then they knocked and she had brought it up but didn't install it. So it was just left on the counter instead of on the wall where it belonged.

I was looking for a budget motel that would be clean and basic. For the price, I had a great stay and would stay there again next time I work in town, if I want to stay in this price range. Checking in was easy and friendly. My room was quiet on two weeknights.

I rarely rate this low, but sadly it is deserved. The room was not in good shape. The toiletries were non-existent. The technology required a rocket scientist to get working. I called the front desk and was treated extremely rudely for not knowing that I needed to hold a button under the belly of the TV for 5 seconds to coordinate the remote to the tv. The pillows were lumpy and very uncomfortable. This is one place that I will not be giving a second chance.

After the original hassle at check in when the reservation wasn’t found including calling Hotels.com and waiting online, it all went fine. The room was clean enough but the shower has a lot of black spots that looks like mold.

thin walls. Loud tv and talking noise from
next room.

It was all about the least they could do for property maintenance.. I pointed out that my sink was backing up. I was told it was an “air issue” by a member of, the staff, but there was ZERO attempt at solving the problem. I had a backed up sink for three DAYS!!! That is shameful since you have to water your hands or brush teeth and worry about Splashing water.

Basic clean room. Nothing great, Nothing bad. Good for the money.

The only down fall is the Parking. My hubby had to park down the street. But it was easy and fast to check in and out. Which is so convenient. The other thing we didn’t like was the limited channels. No music channels at all.

The hotel is in a great location, within walking distance to some restaurants and a short drive to Carlsbad South Ponto Beach

First, they upgraded our room and gave us an extra bed. Curtains looked old and bubbled when the A.C was on. Beds were very old and you could feel every spring.
Walls are thin and we could hear the people next door when we arrived. But after midnight, all was quiet. Restaurants and liquor store was walking distance. Overall stay was perfect for location

Basic, discount motel, with very nice and accommodating management.
Room cleaning fee of $2.50/day added at check-in.
Even though the decor is out-dated and worn, the bed was firm in this room and everything was reasonably comfortable.

Room was filthy. Toilet paper wadded up and stuck over peep hole in door.

My husband and I stayed in a room with 2 queen beds. Litterally the springs (yes springs) in his bed sprung. The shower had black streaks in all of of the fake tile gaps and the bottom of the tub looked dirty. I think it's mold from the humidity of the area. The good, the room, refrigerator, window sills, bed linens, and bathroom vanity were clean. I like that hotels are converting to outlets on lamp bases. But this room didn't have coffee anywhere on the property! Staff at night was good. Next morning the staff smiled but didn't say a word to me.

I was in town for business and thought the proximity to the beach was nice, but I never got to enjoy it. Traveling alone, I want to feel secure: there are no deadbolt locks on the door to ensure that someone with a key card can’t just walk in. Also, the bathroom window was permanently open to the back alley and didn’t feel safe. The staff allowed me to check in an hour early and was very kind. After 2 hours of resting in the room, I noticed multiple bug bites all over my face and arms. Disgusted and worried (as I am allergic to bug bites) I checked out immediately and made other arrangements. The staff told me I would not be charged for the room and would handle my refund. But I left in haste and he did not do it right then and there. After 2 days, I noticed I was fully charged for the room and when I called to ask about it, I was told that “they checked for bugs and found none” so I was liable for the cost of the room. I’m not sure what there process was to “check for bugs” but the bites all over my face and arms were enough proof for me. I can handle the old decor, and sketchy circumstances, I can not handle bugs.

Beautiful location, walking distance to bars, restaurants, cafes. Beds were comfy and they exchanged the used towels for clean ones. The only bad thing was the bathroom and vanity area. Bathroom was dirty and there was rust on the fixtures in the bathroom.

It was terrible and unsafe

The bathtub was dirty and had hair on the walls of the shower. There was a thick layer of dust on the top of the tiles. The windows were open and the screens were bent allowing flies in the room before we even came in.

The stay was very satisfactory and the attendants friendly.

It wasn’t hard to rate them the what I did. It’s not a high end hotel but when a business has a friendly and attentive Team when you and the family first shows up then it’s a great start! They had 2 Team members on duty during my late check in and they even called to make I don’t go to the wrong location. Very nice! Their location is good with everything in close distance. The hotel was clean, didn’t smell, and very comfortable. There are various types of guests here and all respectful. No issues. I would have rated a standard 3-4 but with nice Team members…they are already beating the competition. Some of these other places have jerks representing them. Thank you Pia and other guy whom I forgot his name! Cheers!

The staff was helpful but we had to change rooms twice.
The carpets needed to be vacuumed. They also needed to be shampooed. The white plastic showers were also dirty with black mold on the caulk. The rooms were quiet.

We liked the little table & chairs in the room.

Great value. Helpful staff. Convenient free parking.

We enjoyed our stay at Roadway in, especially since it cost less than many of the higher priced hotels in the area. We also loved the location... walking distance to the beach and many restaurants, cafés, and even a little local market. Unfortunately, the bed mattress was quite noisy when rolling over (old spring style mattress) and uncomfortable. The "bedspread" was so slickery that it would fall off the bed in the middle of the night leaving us with nothing but a sheet. But management was kind enough to get us a different bedspread and blanket when we asked and told us they had plans to replace the slickery bedspreads. Parking was great.

They should call it, the "Erode-Away Inn."
We should have slept in our car.

Way way overpriced for what you get no pool area was likeable but construction on roadway makes it difficult to get in and out but the property looks great from the outside but old upon entering the room keept up clean but still old

This property needs some major upgrading on everything in it. We had to wear our shoes the whole time due to the condition of the floor.
