Hotel was dirty. Boxes throughout lobby and hallways. Painting/construction supplies in stairwell. Hundreds of Asian beetles in our room. Room was dirty. Very moldy shower curtain

Air conditioning unit smelled of mold. Stains on bedding and chair, sticky floors, mold in bathroom around floor and shower.

Dirty rooms. Hallways dirty & cluttered with furniture & boxes. Musty, moldy smell everywhere. Security door was propped open most of the day & when not propped open anyone could still walk right in without key access. Pool had an overwhelming chemical smell to it, between that & the temperature & steam, made it hard to breathe in there. 2 floors & no elevator, had to lug all our bags & cooler up & down the stairs. Non guests coming in & out all day, eating free breakfast which was 👎, using the bathrooms & pool. No one refilled food or cleaned up throughout meal. Would NEVER stay here again even if it was free…

We got what we paid for. The beds were comfortable. We were pleasantly surprised by the continental breakfast options and seating area. When we needed extra soaps, the staff were accommodating. Unfortunately, the room could’ve been better. The paint was peeled off of a portion of the ceiling, the walls had some stains, the smoke detector was fastened to the ceiling with black tape, the bathroom shower/sink were not cleaned and the sheets, though smelled clean, had what appeared to be a blood stain. I think there could’ve mainly been improvements in regard to cleanliness. The kids enjoyed the pool and it was clean but the pool room was VERY hot. Though there is needed room for improvement, after speaking with the staff, it does seem like, with the new management takeover, they are heading in the right direction, changes are being made and have been very open to feedback.

Did not know the hotel was under construction. Half the furnishings were outside the entrance to the hotel. None of the amenities were available for use. The pictures do not match the property. The pool was horrendous.

The service was nice. The front desk staff was very friendly. Our room was decent. There is no elevator which was a bummer because I had to haul our luggage and a baby up the stairs. The property was a bit messy. I don't know if they are in the middle of remodeling some of the areas or what. There was a bunch of chairs just sitting outside the front door. Breakfast was in the lobby because the breakfast room was being painted. The ice machine didn't work, and didn't look like it had worked for a while. Half the vending machines were empty that I saw. The room was clean. It was a little noisy though by the highway.

The lady at the front desk was really friendly and accomodating.

Walls in room needed to be painted. There was only one chair. The comforter was faded and looked old. There were no tissues. The one positive was the bed was very comfortable.
The hall carpets were dingy and looked dirty. The breakfast room was clean but not well stocked.

This location has recently changed management and positive changes are being made. The rooms now have laminate vinyl floors and many of the bathrooms have been upgraded. The curtains in the rooms and the carpet in the hallway are very dated but reportedly will be replaced soon. The beds are comfortable and the breakfast area is well maintained. It is still a basic, economy hotel but the new management is working hard to improve the guest experience.

breakfast wasn't great, there is no elevator and the refrigerator in the room needed to be defrosted. It was a clean, inexpensive, safe place for my daughter to stay for a week in between apartments. It's not upscale, it gets the job done. We are very happy with it

It was ok

My child couldn’t swim in the pool since bugs were in and around the pool

Close to eating establishments, solid breakfast. Friendly staff. Clean room.

Comfort of bed not good and beding poor, water leak in room and quality of carpet in hallway and entry and exit doors not locked. The staff was wonderful and understand they are in process of updating.

The room smelled like urine, garbage in the hall and on the steps was there when we checked in on Friday and still there when we checked out on Sunday.
4.0
Very clean and quiet. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. I stay in Ames for work and I’ll definitely be using them again

The hotel itself wasn’t the cleanest, but certainly not dirty to a concerning point. Some funky smells and mysterious stains going through the hallway, but very forgivable. Our room itself was much more clean, updated, and cared for. Some spots here and there, but the mattress and sheets were spot-free. You definitely get a clean nights sleep for your money! All the staff were amazing, helpful, and friendly. Hardly any freeway noise at all, despite being right next to the connector! We were a little concerned about the amount of restaurant options in Ames and were delighted with the number of options just a few minutes away from the hotel.

The doors were a little hard to close so there was some slamming of doors. Other then that it was s great stay and if do it again

This was a nice stay. The owners were very friendly. The breakfast was lacking and the broken pool was a bummer but they explained the situation and I understood. I hope they continue to build their staff and keep their customer service.

It was fine, not my go to stay again.

Terrible breakfast
2.0
Bed was bouncy with hard pillows. Paint scraped off the walls. Heater would kick on every minute or so and was quite loud. Dog barking heard off & on all night. Only thing harder than the pillows was the biscuits at breakfast.
2.0
The fire alarm battery in the hallway was dead and beeping, the fridge was stinky and the room was freezing as the heater was unplugged

The gal that checks me in is always good about getting me into my favorite room.

They gave me a great room. Wasnt the cleanest but the front desk was very helpful in getting my stay extended.

Lobby was fine. Hallway and room were kind of scuzzy, especially for the price. Would not recommend.

Visible mold in shower, shower not clean, dripping faucets, no low carb or even protein options for breakfast (like eggs or sausage)

The hotel smells and my room was filthy

Dirty rooms and poor facility. The rooms had paint peeling, stains and the ceiling was peeling. The bed was broken, you could feel the springs in your back. I reached out to the property and not even an apology. Stay elsewhere.

We had 3 doubles for 3 nights.
The crew got eaten up. Y bed bugs and left in the middle of the first night. Since I had prepaid - I was out the cost for the 3 nights 3 rooms each. I would be careful here. The staff was nice. Hotel is bad shape. This is my first negative review. We use alot of hotels for our crews.

Check in was good. Room was nice. A few small messy bits in room but over all nice. Bed was fine. Air conditioning was great.

It was frustrating to be communicated with in such a flippant manner by the hotel desk staff. At 9:30PM, there was no line. I was absolutely polite and courteous - as I travel a lot and appreciate good service. I treat others as I expect to be treated and the gal was just rude and sassy. There was no reason for this immature behavior.

I appreciated that the clerk told me they were repaving the parking lot before I arrived. The remote for the TV didn't have batteries in it. The clerk got me a new one. There were several spiders crawling around on the floor- so it made me wonder how often the room was used/cleaned. There was a smell to the room when you walk in- not sure if it was musty, mold or something else. I knew I wasn't paying for top-of-the-line. I got what I paid for.

Management was very helpful. Clean, comfortable room.

Great stay for the price. Our room was clean and the beds comfortable.

Just an average motel

The lady was rude from check in and the hotel manager was very disrespectful I would never stay there again. Then try charging my card a extra $90 dollars for my stay ridiculous.
2.0
The room was clean, bed was comfortable. Traffic noise from the freeway, a very slow draining bathtub (I stood in ankle deep water while taking a shower) and a disturbance in the hallway at midnight (people fighting and yelling, slamming doors) made for a poor night’s sleep.
