Aside from the unexpected additional $74.97 charge, they had to move us rooms because the first bedroom had bedbugs, and the second bedroom wasn’t any better. Aside from all of this, the direct hotel phone number does not work. It goes directly to an unset up voicemail. Even with speaking to the claims department at Wyndham, who even tried to reach out to them. It does not work. This is highly unacceptable. Even more acceptable is the hotel is supposed to be called Baymont, even per the representative that I spoke with last night to find out if they allow dogs. The hotel is called La Quinta. So I’m very confused. What’s going on. It’s very shady and I would like my refund back.

This was the absolute worst experience ever and I have traveled the world. The booking said Baymont Inn but the signage on the hotel says La Quinta. When we tried to check in the lady at the front desk said we would not get a key to the room because the key machine was not working. The place smelled and the condition of the hotel was horrible. While we were trying to check in an old lady came out to the front of the hotel entrance wearing a robe so she could smoke a joint. After not being able to check us in the front desk women (Colee) told us we would not be charged but when I checked with Expedia this morning they said they had no record of that from the hotel and afterr a 50 minute conversation I did get Expedia to issue a credit. Again - this place is a nightmare. We wasted an hour trying to find the place because we had no idea that the La Quinta hotel was recently purchased by Baymont. A police man sent us to another Baymont Inn in Meridian because the Baymont Hotel still had La Quinta signs out front. This hotel should be closed down and totally renovated. The staff should be fired and competent peope should be hired. I would not want anyone else to have the horrible experience that we had at this dump of a hotel

The hotel staff was nice it was quiet and safe. I stayed 2 nights I had 1 wash cloth so if I am paying $100 or more a night I should have more that 1 wash cloth to use.

The bed was comfortable. Hotel was very run down and in need of updating. Had trouble getting a key card that would work. Only 1 wash cloth for a king room.

The staff were friendly and doing their best. But the place needs maintenance and upgrades. It’s old and worn out. As soon as you walk in you can smell cigarette smell with a combination of mold. Carpet look filthy. Everything looked dirty.

I let the front desk know that I would be in after 5 and when I got there, my room had been reassigned to someone else. I paid in advance for a king bed. The other guest signed my name to the room.
The entire hotel was filthy and smelled of cigarettes, so I coughed my entire stay. The breakfast was a joke ... I ran out of that place once I checked out. 10 out of 10 WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

The beautiful lady at the front desk was wonderful. She was there when we checked in and also in the morning when we checked out.

La Quinta Meridian, MS did everything I needed it to do - a good night’s rest at a reasonable rate. Yes it wasn’t fancy and upgrades are very much needed, but everything worked just fine.

Carpets are dirty, noise by someone related to front desk. Arguing with someone on phone. First room assigned was stinking, so we changed the room. Front desk person was nice and gave us another room. Second room had dirty carpets. There were very few choices for breakfast for vegeterian. One bad orange.

The facility was dirty and run down. The desk clerk was rude when checking in she asked my name then shoved a key to me. The room had not been cleaned and when I asked for another room she just shoved a key to me. That room was not much better. We were very disappointed with the situation but were exhausted and stayed. The sheets smelled like they had not been washed.
I feel that I should be refunded for this situation.
The morning clerk was very professional and polite. She apologized and very polite. However this came too late.
Please contact me for further assistance regarding this matter

I have stayed in other LaQuinta Inns and this does not measure up in any way. The appearance inside was worn and dirty looking. The carpet in the room was pulling up and presented a hazard. The food selection for the breakfast was almost non-existent, a couple of cereal choices and milk from a jug that looked like it hadn't been cleaned in quite a while. The person manning the front desk at check-in, late afternoon was busy talking to her boyfriend. There was no one at the front desk when we left. I chose La Quinta because I have had good experiences in the past, not this time. I will think long and hard on future overnight stays.

This property smells bad from the moment you walk into the front lobby. The carpets are old, dirty and smelly. The showers were out dated and stained. The toilet seat was old and had stains also. Mold in the ceiling in the bathroom. They tried to paint over it but it bled through.
Towels are dingy. Sheets and blankets are dingy and the room smells worse than the lobby. There was dirt behind the chair in the carpet. They don’t seem to vacuum behind the chairs.
The lamps and wall pictures were new.

The worst La Quinta hotel. Is in desperate need of renovation, carpet smells, furniture is old, mattress old and smells. Terrible experience.

The place showed abuse and a strong need to be upgraded. The carpet was a serious eyesore. It reminded me of the facility in Brandon, MS being renovated accept this one needs to be on the list.

The Clerk was Having to deal with computer issues , and she still made sure I felt welcome, showed me where I could get ice, sit and wait, and Most importantly made me feel welcomed I had just drove almost 5 hours to get to the hotel , I didn’t happen to get her name but wish I had of, I checked in on Thursday May 16 Around 630p & I for sure will be returning my next trip to Meridian.
The only thing caught my attention took off was an odor in the hallway but I believe it’s just the building , nothing to be complaing about ;)

The room was ok, the beds are comfortable but you don’t get much of a blanket really. No frills but at the price I don’t expect them. The breakfast consists of waffles, two types of cereal with a pitcher of milk, one yogurt that i am pretty sure was there a week before when I stayed there on my way to Texas, bread for toast and hard boiled eggs. This morning, though, the waffle machine was sticking and so the staff just turned it off so really no breakfast at all. Overall an average stay for an average price I suppose

Ok for a nights sleep. You get what you pay for. Waffle House next door.

Old building falling apart. Bathtub was rounded so it was very awkward trying to take shower. The staff was very friendly. La Quinta hotels are one of my favorite places to stay but this particular on I don’t think I’ll stay there again. It needs to be torn down and rebuilt.

The carpet and bathrooms were not clean. Tje towels were extremely dingy. We had to go to Walmart to purchase towels in order to shower and cleaning supplies to clean the bathroom before we could use them.

Friendly staff. Clean room. Aging carpets. Breakfast was poor. Served 6 to 9. I got there 8:30. No fruit. No waffles. Good coffee. Cereal and milk. Oh well.
Overall experience - adequate. Slept well. That's what I needed after 500 mile bike ride from SC.

The carpet was ancient and felt sticky. I wouldn't walk across the floor barefoot.

This hotel was hella disappointing!!! This is the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in by far. My safety was definitely in question here. I don’t think I’ve ever felt the level of discomfort that I felt at this hotel. The front door was not working properly. The back door to the lobby doesn’t even close & lock. It was completely broken. The hallways gave a spooky feel. Elevator was in bad shape. Carpets had big stains on them. Room smelled of mold and mildew. Bathroom was nasty with stains in the floor. Door didn't seem safe, used my own portable lock that i purchased online. Wish I had read the reviews. Most are spot on. Smelly room, I brewed coffee to temporarily take the smell away, very old and outdated, cracks in walls. It’s also very overpriced. It’s a shame they are allowed to charge what they charge. Guess they need to make up for lost customers. Hotel is very run down but oh well. Will never stay here again. The staff were nice but the shape that this hotel is in and everything else makes u want to just walk away from it whether you are reimbursed or not! Definitely would not recommend this hotel to anyone especially if u are going alone! It was not up to the standard of cleanliness and comfort I expect from LaQuinta. I would suggest trying your luck with the Holiday Inn across the street or staying in one the three hotels located right around the corner by Starbucks!

Seems this hotel is really having some money issues. The one complementary soap was so thin you could almost read through it. The continental breakfast consisted of coffee, corn flakes, Raisin Bran, white bread slices for toast and yogurt. Waffle maker was there, but, no waffle batter. Microwave in room was broken. Start button didn’t work. Upon checkout I was told because I booked the room online, they were not allowed to give me a receipt. I got one when I checked out of the LaQuinta in Hoover and booked it online. Clerk couldn’t explain why it was different in Meridian. She could not even be sure what amount I will be billed??? Although we’ve stayed at this La Quinta several times in the past, this will be our last.

Didn't like two things:
1) No breakfast -- was supposed to start at 6am. No one there starting breakfast when I left at 7am.
2) No one at desk all night. Note at front desk said no one available, and no contact number. Guest in lobby said her card didnot work and she couldn't get into her room all night since no one at front desk.
Rugs in the halls are worn and looked dirty. Rug in my room looked OK.
Couldn't use washer/dryer since no sign how much it costs!
Worst La Quinta I've ever visited.

This motel has had no maintenance in twenty years. The complimentary breakfast was a toaster, a loaf of white bread, cold cereal, and a broken waffle maker.
3.0 / 5.0
I guess on a certain level you get what you pay for and in this situation it applies. However, the service has gone down at this location, the breakfast options have gone down, and quality of staff has gone down. Comparing cost with other hotels I have gotten more bang for my buck. The room smelled and the rooms have new furniture in old settings. If you are just staying one night, don't mind very limited breakfast options, looking to save money and don't mind "old" you will be fine.

This property has gone way down hill since last time we were here. Best part was the bed was comfortable. Bedding was worn but clean. Was afraid of walking on the hallway carpet, it was very worn and stained. This property needs a face lift!

Very clean and the staff were all very nice.the hotel is older and doesn’t appear to have any upgrades in a very longtime. Very quiet. If you’re looking for a simple no frills room that’s what you will get here.
