Every year I make it a point to go to the Heirloom Expo and this is the second year in Ventura. I booked Pierpont Inn last year and liked it so much, I did so again this year. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The complimentary breakfast is very nice and the view from the restaurant is beautiful. I will definitely keep going to the Pierpont Inn in the coming years.

The breakfast was very disappointing. Jot having staff to bring towels after 5:00 was a problem.

It’s an old dilapidated hotel, built in 1910 and it shows. 3 floors and no elevator. Everything is old, ugly, inconvenient or all the above. Stay away.

Very nice relaxing would go there again

Unique, comforting, environment in a great location! Just don’t plan on having the “complimentary breakfast.”

On line it appears like a woodsy inn Hotel over seeing the ocean. Limited view of ocean but complete view and sound of the freeway. In just deplorable condition. The grounds the buildings , hallways and the reservation desk are just old, painted over, smells like old wood mold. the front desk is beyond a mish mash of furniture in what appears to be an old room. No elevators, We had to lug our luggage's up some very unsafe uneven stairs to second floor . The pool looked like a old motel 6. The Breakfast included was HORRIBLE Cold and extremely gross with coffee that was not drinkable . The presentation was depressing . Old banquet tables with banquet hard chairs scattered around. There was no reason that had to be like that. We paid $700.00 for 2 nights. Only went to breakfast one day and would of left if there had been rooms available at the Crowne Hotel Ventura. Boy did we get scammed into an unfit property that should not be open to the public.

Our king suite was very spacious and the bed and pillows were comfortable. The pool is small. The grounds are large with lots of green grass areas. There was only one green area where dogs were welcome. We walked to the downtown area where there were several restaurants. It was about a 20 minute walk. It’s a close walk to the beach and there is a walking/biking path along the beach. Breakfast was ok (eggs, sausage, cereal, toast, bagels) There was nothing special and potato’s were cold. Our suite overlooked the noisy freeway and the ocean. This older hotel would be more attractive to me with some artistic aesthetics, a good restaurant and bar, larger pool area and more than one dog friendly area. The price was right for what it was.

It is an older property but well kept. It has a good view of the ocean. The person at check in needs some training in Customer Service but besides that and a parking fee everything else was great.

We stayed here 37 years ago on our wedding night before flying out for our honeymoon. It’s close to the beach and overall great location.

Our room was clean and comfortable as usual. The problem we had was the phone system, in house and out. I tried multiple times to call the front desk on the morning of our departure, and nobody answered. I finally, out of frustration, called the hotel number, and after seveal tries someone FINALLY answered.
Next, I left my electric razor in the room. AGAIN, after multiple tries from home, someone finally answered. I was told to have a return label printed and email it to them, and they would return my razor. The next day I went to my local UPS store and paid for a return label, and to have it emailed to the Pierpont. I wanred to be sure they received it, so that afternoon I ATTEMPTED to call the hotel, and of course I couldn't connect, no matter which option I tried. # 1-5 tge recording said "I couldn't hear your chouce. pkease try again," OVER AND OVER. It NEVER asked me to say the option.
In frustration, I finally sent an email, and I FINALLY received an answer, that they had received my label.
I've never had a problem with anyone there in person, but the phone system is a mess. VERY poor for customer service...

Felt like a trip back in time. I loved its low tech funky vibe. Close to the beach. Near the highway so it was noisy. Felt like we were a part of history

The complementary breakfast was good and the staff was helpful. I liked that the hotel is across the street from the beach so we walked to the beach. Would stay again.

This was my fourth stay at the Pierpont, and 4rd summer in a row. The hotel is close enough to the beach to feel like you're at a high end hotel. It has that early 1900s charm that you cannot replicate with newer edifices. The only complaint is that there are no elevators around so if you're on a different level you need to carry your luggage. Ventura is small beach town compared to LA, San Diego Orange County. There are a lot of things to do but you must look a little harder.

Office impossible to find during construction.
Old tv selections.
NO SOAP in bathroom
Breakfast way too far away

The room was paid for my girlfriend who was on the road late at night and because she did not have a physical credit card for incidental charges, she was turned away with her children and forced to drive back to Los Angeles.

Wanted to stay here for years. Finally had the chance. Everything was very good but the decades have not been kind to the facilities. They are in the process of resurrecting it to its glory days and from what I can tell they are on their way. Even in late July the pool was far too cool for night swimming.

Unfriendly staff.
Air conditioning didn't work, and they knew it. But they pretended to be trying to fix it.
I asked for housekeeping at 2:00 pm and was told that it was too late.
The room was extremely poorly lit. The TV didn't work. The air conditioning didnt work.
The mattresses on the beds were very soft and old.
I paid around $800 for two nights. You would think that would garner some service. But it didn't. Seriously, I'm pretty shocked.

I really liked the area and the suite was very large, two rooms mostly, perfect for the family. The breakfast was very tasty 👍 They just need a jacuzzi

We were here for 12 days. It was the perfect stay. Chris at the front desk was very helpful. The breakfast was great. Our room (which was not a view room) had a great view of the ocean and the pier). I loved the bed!

The location was great but walking into the managers office the carpets were smelling moldy and was very disappointed to get in the room and they were musty and old. It was clean, but the smell was a bit too much.

Okay, but a bit noisy. Personnel was very helpful and nice but the property was „okay“ only. But a good choice for an overnight stay along Pacific Highway 1 and if you don’t want to pay Santa Barbara prices.
4.0
Extremely noisy and should not be listed as beach front… there are 8 lanes of the 101 highway between the Hotel and the beach. The 101 never stops… cars during the day and long haul trucks during the evening.

The Pierpont Hotel is a charming place just by the ocean. A short walk 5 min, under the freeway, and you are on the beach. There is construction ongoing, and it is an older place, but the little cottage 102 was charming! Rose gardens, great parking by the cottage.Few steps to breakfast. Fresh fruit, eggs, bacon, bagels etc. Outdoor and indoor seats. (Could use a little update). Small pool, good for kids. 10 min walk to Ventura pier. Very nice staff checkin and out very efficient. Parking is usd 10,-, deposit usd 100,-. There is a big road just outside, and traffic noise, but was fine in the cottage. Coffee, fridge in room, nice tub and shower. Rustic but charming. Not fancy but cute. Great bed and pillows! I recommend the place for location. No restaurant on site except breakfast, but short drive to a few options.

Room very far from parking and we had to walk far. Several other guests seemed “down and out” or displaced and dirty. Lots of noise from other guests and rooms. Pool not very clean. Staff told I needed quiet relaxation and solitude at check in. Said he “upgraded” us. Key wouldn’t open room and took us forty minutes to access room. Room was not an upgraded room. Put is next to a “long rterm” resident who was living there seeming displaced and destitute. Woke up first morning and found our adjoining patios full of garbage bags piled sky high full of personal belongings. Slider next to us was open and room was a disaster obviously full of someone’s mess. Furniture from room next to us was on the patio and a strange woman was sitting in a chair styling her hair. Patio was floor to ceiling of clothes, garbage bags and hoarded belongings of what would belong to a homeless person. I asked Front desk what was going on and she said it was one of their “long term tenants”.i demanded to be checked out immediately as the other rooms were checking in and bothering unsuspecting guests. Never again will I stay at this property and do not recommend.

Beach is at a walking distance.
It is a sprawling property, looks old, price of above 350 a day was exorbitant. When I checked in the desk clerk said that parking was included and he was taking my credit card only for the deposit. When I checked out the person at desk charged me 10 dollars a night for parking and showed the paper I signed where it says 10/ night parking was applicable. The breakfast of cold scrambled eggs was mediocre.

Overall a great place to stay. They are working hard to renovate the hotel and keep the charm.
