We had a fabulous stay. The hotel was just as lovely as we’d hoped - perfect lake views on the balconies and a lovely dining terrace. We chose to go half board and despite there being no choice, we enjoyed everything we were served. There was easy access to the promenade for walking and we made great use of the Montreux Riviera card on the bus (bus stop very near by) and trains. All staff were friendly and helpful, we had fantastic stay and we’d all like to return.

Beautiful lobby. Wonderful staff. Fantastic breakfast with large selection. Very pretty outdoor furniture with views of the lake. Short walk on lakeside to boat for the castle. Drawback in August there is no AC & the room was staggering hot. Our room, with a city view was so close to the train you could almost touch it. See photo of hotel sign next to train track! With church bells on the hour, no AC & many trains it was uncomfortable. Highly recommended lakeside room.

Really lovely hotel with a terrace where you can admire the mountains and lake. Good sized rooms with a balcony(for lake view rooms). Easy access via bus to the train station and the centre of town. Bed comfortable. Small fridge with mini bar. Teas and coffee, with a little kettle in the room. Breakfast has slight variations day to day. Good range of pastries, cakes, hot food, cold hands and cheese. The pancake maker didn't work the two mornings I tried using it, but there were plenty of other choices. Staff friendly and helpful. Lovely little pack of cookies when we checked out.

We had a lovely stay in the golf hotel, the surrounding views of lake Geneva were beautiful, the staff was very nice, check in was very good, the staff were very helpful with letting me have the use of their socket plugs, our room comfortable, except the wall paper border of cats and mice at the top of room ,which I dislike, it would give you nightmares, other than that we had a lovely stay.

The location of the hotel is nice, right by the lake. The room is spacious. The staff are nice. Transportation is convenient. However, there is no AC, so it will be uncomfortable in hot summer.

Hotel Golf Rene Capt nestles in the town of Montreux surrounded by lakes and mountains. Being in a town so steeped in the 16-17th centuries culture, most architecture of their buildings and hotels reflect accordingly. This hotel decors likewise reflect its roots but surprisingly able to maintain them well. The location is relatively convenient, and best of all you get premium view of the lake Geneva and mountains! I have nothing to complain about as the check in and out were seamless and hotel was kept very clean. Will be staying here again when I ever visit Montreux again.

We stayed on the first floor with a lakeside view which was fabulous. The Good The room was a good size with nice bathroom Bed was ok Bathroom good Breakfast excellent Staff spoke English and were helpful Pretty good location - only a 5 min walk to the casino The Bad No aircon (but fan provided) With the only ventilation being the balcony door open, we had noise from the restaurant below and constant smell from cigarette smoke (yeah I know - everyone in Europe seems to want to die of lung cancer). We ate at the restaurant for dinner and the meals were very mediocre and of a small portion size - would rate restaurant a 5/10.

Great location facing Geneva Lake !! very noisy at night due to trains passing close to hotel !! No aircondition at all rooms and it was so hot days !!!! we were sufurring when we come to sleep !!! Very well located. Right on Lake. Room was 30 meters from majorrailway line. As it was not airconditioned we had to open windows to keep cool. That meant excessive noise from trains every 5 minutes. Unbearable

Friendly staff who tried to be helpful - gave us some good advice and suggestions on local activities. But also gave us a lake view room on a lower floor, so actual views were blocked by the trees between balcony and lake. Facilities are older and the years show - has a feeling of age overall, dark areas, worn carpets, etc. The room door lock was not electronic, but a key - which took a lot of fiddling with to operate (several minutes to make it open or lock on several occasions). The bathroom was smaller, with a bathtub that had very high sides - difficult to step in and out. Breakfast buffet was excellent - large variety and good service.

The property is located right on Lake Geneva so the views from the room were terrific. Although not in the city center, it was a short bus ride to the main area. The only complaint I have is with the shower. It is a tub/shower combination and the tub is deep so it is a big step in. The hand held shower head is attached to the side wall so it sprays across the short side of the tub and is barely usable.
