Beautiful!
Excellent customer service. Good restaurant. Perfect location. Very cool hotel.

The spa was amazing! Carrie gives the best pedicures. And the mineral bath was very relaxing. It was my first time. Trying the mineral bath and my second time getting a pedicure. The grounds are nice. The food is good. The restaurant has a great selection for dinner. They also have a really nice buffet for breakfast. I would highly recommend the Gideon Putnam to anyone visiting the area.

The staff here are so kind and go above and beyond to help you. Would come back because of that alone!

Expensive as all get out but a perfect complement for a weekend of racing. Clean comfortable room, serene setting, classic vibe. Shuttle driver is a nice guy.

Great well kept property. Staff is superior.
Breakfast buffet was a bit pricey but food looked awesome, unfortunately we would never eat that much for a normal breakfast.
Shuttle drivers exceeded any of our expectations.
Easy walk to SPAC. Downtown area restaurants were great, other than the panhandling going on. Will definitely stay again!

I loved its location right in the middle of the park close to all amenities! The van service was excellent driving us all over town .

Rooms outdated… they shouldn’t be calling themselves a resort… only plus is you can walk to SPAC

Check-in was pretty quick and easy, but the room we got keys to was dirty, with an old room service tray, so we got a different room right away, was an easy swap. The room was comfy, bed was nice. The only problem was that the next morning, I found a used insulin needle in our room by where I’d left my shoes! I turned that in to the front desk in a plastic bag. Yuck. This place is way too expensive to be so dirty.

Great property, horrible room (No.326.) Prepaid $500+ for 2 rooms (325 and 326) for special family event. 326 abutted an elevator shaft and the noise and vibration woke us up all night long. Ill-fitting blind and no black-out curtains didn’t help. No sleep!! Desk staff offered to refund us the $32 “amenities” fee. All three of us were trashed ahead of important day. No recourse, off course. Stay away!

Great location. Just a few minutes to the downtown area. The hotel also offered a shuttle which was very convenient. Rooms were decent. The bathroom was quite small and in need of a facelift. The vent over the shower was VERY dirty, with large cobwebs & dust bunnies. Staff at the front desk answered the phones and attended to the callers when numerous guests were waiting to check in / check out. Additional staff should assist with managing the phones so the front end employees can assist waiting guests.

The hotel is in a State Park. Grounds and golf course are beautiful and well kept. Hotel staff is excellent and very helpful. Shuttle to town and track, just a few minutes away. Rooms are older but very clean and fully functionable.
Overall a good stay.

When we checked in, the front staff was very friendly. We got to our suite and it hadn't been cleaned, the bed was made, but that was about it. There were Cheerios on the floor in the living room area and pretzels under the couch that you could see from standing in the room. When we pulled out the sofa bed, crumbs and debris fell out from it and there were old linens from someone else on it still. On our way out, I stopped by the front desk, in a non-complaining way, just to advise them the condition of the room when we got there. The gentleman at the desk said they would have housekeeping clean it and they never did. For the price that we paid for the suite, I feel those were very poor conditions.

Our room was bug infested. The bathroom had bed bugs and other bugs on the walls, shower head and in the tub. Also the room needs a major uplift Terrible amenities in the room. Very overpriced for what was offered. Poorly managed hotel. It is extremely dated. The only thing nice was the lobby and the surrounding grounds.

First time we stayed at this hotel in Saratoga. It was great, situated in the Saratoga state park (walking trails, golf and concert area). The hotel is an older building but in good shape! Check in was fast and easy and we got a free parking pass. The room had 2 queen beds and an average bathroom for this class of hotel. The room was very cleaned and cleaned well every day. The restaurant was EXCELLENT and the bar had some great drinks, service was also very well done. The hotel provides a shuttle from 7am to 11pm, takes you into town drops you off and picks you up when you're done. The staff in the hotel was friendly and courteous. It's obvious we loved this hotel and will there again next year!

We knew this was an older, historic type of hotel but it was tired looking with peeling paint and shoddy patching. The service was non-existent. It was self service for us - we had to move our bags, get the cart, return the cart etc. - no one lifted a finger to help other than to tell us where to get a cart. Also, they told us nothing about the hotel, the sights, the amenities- nada We knew it was trouble when our room wasn’t ready- we got there after 4:00, they never called to tell us when it was ready and then they gave us a room with someone else already in it! ( they did change that quickly)

Nice clean and wonderful staff.

We loved Victoria pool, the tennis courts and the golf course and seeing horses on the property was a real treat. Our complaints would be that the breakfast was not great and didn’t have many options and the kitchen staff was a bit rude when we asked for accommodations for our breakfast but other wise we had a great stay. I also found the room a bit small and the design outdated for the price.

Classic, tasteful, old-school charm with the updated comforts we appreciate while traveling. This hotel is cool - the park setting is surreal - and the adjacency to SPAC is ultra convenient.
Nice restaurant with Saratoga Chips and dip to die for. Great service and tasty entrees.
The decor is rich and warm - the public restrooms on the Lobby level are full of museum quality fixtures (sinks, urinals, marble panels, tile, lighting, etc.).

5 floors building with a basement has only one working elevetor , which is shared with service staff ( service elevetor has been out of order for a while, I was told )

We had a wonderful stay at the Gideon Putnam. We came into Saratoga to see a concert in the park. The service was fantastic. We got a ride to the venue and it was a quick nine minute walk back to the hotel after the concert. No waiting in a car lie to exit. In the morning took the shuttle into town and the race track which was super convenient, didn't need my car at all.
2.5 / 5.0
The hotel is a lovely historic hotel. So it’s not a 5 Star hotel on its own due to its age, but combined with being in such an amazing place it gets 5 stars.
