Our stay was a disaster. We went to Eureka, Ca for a Jazz convention. We missed most of the first day trying to get a different room. Our room had no hot water and the sinks backed-up with brown ugly water. We notified the desk clerk at 8:00 am, he said we will have a room by noon. When we returned at 1:00 pm, a new desk clerk, did not know anything about our room problems. He said he would call us in a hour. He never did call us. We went back down and talked to another desk clerk. He name was Connie. She was finally helpful and got us a room quickly. She was good, but we did not get into our new room until 3:30 pm. We missed a whole day at the event. I plan on sending a strongly worded to Red Lion.

It was a quick drop in late in the evening we got to town. The lady was very nice checking us in. I have my service dog with me and she put us in a room on the first floor. It look a little worn but it was perfectly clean and in good condition. The man working in the morning was very nice as well. Complimentary breakfast was delicious.

Elevators not working correctly, reported, not repaired. Breakfast menu, but no waitstaff (service to start @ 7:00 AM, didn't). Who knows, maybe no kitchen staff either. A very, very disappointing stay.

Needed a last minute place to stay for a night. Would not stay here otherwise. Area is teeming with transient crazies. Right next to 101 and can get really loud if the room faces that way.

4th time we've stayed here. Close to family. A bug thanjs to Nathan Sunday night for helping us out when it was busy. We'd stay here again. Staff has always been kind and accommodating.

This is the second time I have stay at this hotel. Room clean and comfortable. But a little old. No view out the window. Just a roof top with a wall painted white. I have a picture. The time before I was in a basement room with no view and next to if I remember correctly a weight room. Both rooms were nosy. . The noise from the other room bounced off the wall and made EVERY word clear to hear. Then in the day light the sun reflected off the white wall and roof and made the room uncomfortable do to brightness. The staff was friendly. Had no issues with any one working. The breakfast was lack luster. Oatmeal and bread. Although you can order an egg for extra charge. I have thought Red Lion as a nice option when traveling. But Unfortunately I my self will look for other options when I’m in town next trip.

Despite the poor reviews from others, this is one of the nicest Red Lions I’ve stayed at. What really made the stay great was the customer service. Our room lock wasn’t working so the front desk upgraded us to a new room. Not many places offer that. The only nitpick I have was the small amount of breakfast options.

Looked clean but smelled musty. Reception ignored my elderly parents. Couldn’t get a receipt since I booked through a third party. No list of channels for the tv. Not enough shampoo and conditioner for three people. First time I called front desk nobody answered. This suite seemed very unused and not checked recently. You be the judge.

Everything was clean and in good order. People were all very nice and helpful. Some parts of Eureka are pretty “rough“ due to a lot of it homeless people but this isn’t a good area so a family would feel safe.

we loved our stay at red lion in eureka! we appreciated that they had 1 bedroom (one queen; one king) rooms available! perfect if you have kids! it was a great stop before heading into redwood. would stay here again!

The staff was helpful, but the facility is a little tired. The heated pool was not available for the 3 days we were there with kids. The morning continental was a good surprise, but the ingredients were not always stocked or brought out (to save money). The location has a lot of homeless people wandering on the street, but we felt safe and the car did ok at nighttime (we didn't leave anything in the car). No fan or window in the bathroom, or it was broken. Again, the staff was nice and helpful.

Considering it was the Fourth of July holiday the wait time to check in was quite long. The front desk persons were friendly considering it being super busy. The front desk person complained about Expedia to every guest he checked in front of me, which was unprofessional. The elevators were slow, but at least they had two of them to access the three floors. There was only one entryway through the front. My suggestion is to allow for guests to use the other door so it doesn’t bottleneck the front lobby area. The phone was ringing off the hook and the maintenance man was enjoying himself in the swimming pool until there was an issue with somebody’s door not working. Somebody needed a toilet plunger and that person was told to wait as they were slammed so priorities were a bit off, but overall, I was satisfied with my stay. I would stay again.

It was okay a little dingy, a little on the dirty side. The toilet in the bathroom kept running all night and it was definitely noisy. Seemed a bit overpriced for what it was.

Staff was very helpful, but was short handed at check in so there was a line and rooms where not ready at 4:30 pm so we had to wait. Also we were woke up by load hammer banging from room 219 at 10 pm staurday night. we called front desk and were total AC broke and staff was trying to open window. not sure if window was ever opened but i think the entire hotel guess were awake.

The hotel is big, we had a 2 queen bed bedroom that was very spacious. Bathroom wasn’t very clean, only two big towels. When we phoned to get 2 more (there was 4 of us) they told us that they didn’t have extra ones. The pool was closed for unknown reasons. That was disappointing for our kids. Staff were friendly. Don’t count on their free breakfast, there was only bananas and packaged oatmeal and coffee.

Not many good choices in Eureka. Upon chechin, our family suite has full trash cans and only 3 towels for 5 guests. The right end of the property has no elevator service - we had to carry all luggages up/down stairs. My advice: book earlier and choose another place.

The line at the check in can get long during holidays. My room card didn’t work the first time so I have to bring my luggage back down from the 3rd floor to get it fixed.

The hotel has an odd smell, couldn’t quite say what. When we were leaving at 9 am the elevator was having “routine maintenance “ and we were on the third floor! The ice machine on our floor and the floor below was broken. The free breakfast was pretty spare but there was a made to order breakfast available to purchase. We did not have breakfast. However, Robert, who checked us in was very nice and helpful. The bed was comfortable and the noise was not too bad considering there was construction across the street.

The staff were nice and inviting but the mattress was very uncomfortable, we somehow ran out of hot water in the shower the last two days of our stay, and there were a bunch if homeless people walking around outside of the hotel. All in all I would say it was an acceptable and average stay, I would consider staying here again.

Front desk check in was easy enough and friendly Otherwise…. Smelly. From the harsh chemical cleaner on entry to the middle of the night overwhelming smell of weed being smoked The window didn’t lock — just a small piece of semi rotten wood in the way — and opened to a flat roof leaving a less than secure feel.

Beautiful hotel in a great area of town. Close to a lot of different food options most within 5 min walk. The staff was very helpful and gave recomendations for food when we checked in. The suite was very nice and spacious ehough that my whole family got to have their own bed to sleep in. Would for sure stay again if we are in the area.
